Pregnancy
Kakashi arrived at Chi Yu's residence, carrying the ingredients Uzumaki Kushina needed for dinner, only to be shocked when he saw her suddenly dry heaving.
Alarmed, Kakashi rushed to her side.
"Sensei's wife, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Kushina steadied herself, wiping her lips.
"It's not exactly being sick. Sometimes I just… start gagging for no reason. It should be nothing serious."
Kakashi frowned, his tone firm.
"No, Sensei's wife. I'll go with you to the hospital."
Kushina waved her hand with a smile.
"Kakashi, really, it's nothing. I'll be fine after some rest."
But Kakashi shook his head sharply.
"Chi Yu-sensei isn't here. I have to take care of you in his place. We're going now!"
Kushina clenched her fist, grabbed Kakashi by the head, and twisted fiercely.
"You little brat, trying to boss me around now?!"
Kakashi felt as if his brain were being scrambled. But when Kushina let go, she gently rubbed his head, chuckling softly.
"You've really grown up, Kakashi. Alright then… let's go together."
The two headed for the Konoha Hospital.

Upon arrival, they happened to run into Minato Namikaze and another Uzumaki woman, Miyuki.
"Kushina!" Miyuki greeted brightly, her hand resting protectively on her belly.
Kushina's eyes widened.
"Miyuki, what's wrong? You don't look unwell, do you?"
Miyuki smiled warmly, her hand still on her stomach.
"No, quite the opposite. I'm about to become a mother."
Kushina froze.
"Y-You're pregnant?"
Miyuki's joy was written all over her face.
"Yes. Two months now."
Kushina blinked in shock, then clasped her hands together.
"Wow… congratulations, Miyuki!"
"Thank you," Miyuki said. "But what brings you to the hospital, Kushina?"
Scratching her cheek, Kushina admitted,
"I've been dry heaving these past few days. Kakashi insisted I come for a check-up."
At that, both Miyuki and Minato exchanged subtle looks.
"When did the nausea start?" Miyuki asked gently.
Kushina thought for a moment.
"Hmm… not long after Chi Yu left."
Miyuki's eyes softened knowingly.
"Any loss of appetite? Drowsiness? Dislike for greasy foods… sudden cravings for sour things?"
Kushina's jaw dropped.
"H-How did you know?!"
Miyuki only gave a mysterious smile.
"Let the doctor tell you."
Minato, quiet until now, gave a small smile of his own.
"Congratulations, Kushina."
Confused, Kushina blinked rapidly as Miyuki and Minato excused themselves. She muttered under her breath,
"What's going on?"
Kakashi, walking beside her, frowned deeply. Miyuki's questions, Minato's congratulations… it all pointed to one thing.

At the hospital, the examination confirmed what they suspected.
Kushina stared at the paper in her trembling hands, her mind reeling. She had already asked the doctor the same question seven times.
"Is this real? Am I really… pregnant?"
The doctor sighed, clearly exasperated.
"Yes, Uzumaki-san. Over a month along. Please, I have other patients to see—stop asking the same thing."
Kakashi quickly stepped in before she could ask again.
"Sensei's wife, let's go home first."
"Ah? Oh… okay."
She walked back in a daze, barely aware of her surroundings. Kakashi, however, was tense, scanning everything around them. If anyone tried anything, he was ready to kill without hesitation. Luckily, the trip home was uneventful.

Once back, Kushina sat on the sofa, staring at the medical report and giggling like a fool.
"Hehe… Chi Yu will be so surprised. No, I have to take better care of myself now. I can't eat recklessly anymore… Ah! Miyuki is coming tomorrow, I'll ask her about what's good to eat for pregnancy."
Kakashi watched her helplessly. He had tried calling her several times, but she was lost in her own happy little world.
Finally, he raised his voice.
"Sensei's wife!"
Kushina blinked out of her trance.
"Ah, Kakashi, you're here! Do you know… I'm pregnant, hehe!"
Kakashi's face darkened. Of course I know. I was right there!
He muttered, almost to himself,
"Couldn't she at least remember that?"
Out loud, he said,
"Sensei's wife, please rest. I'll find Orochimaru-sama to conduct a thorough check-up."
Before leaving, Kakashi created a Shadow Clone to guard the door, just in case.

When he arrived at Orochimaru's laboratory, Kakashi explained everything in one breath.
Orochimaru turned, his golden eyes narrowing with mild surprise.
"Kushina… pregnant? Interesting."
Kakashi bowed slightly.
"Yes. I was hoping Orochimaru-sama could confirm her condition in detail."
Orochimaru smiled faintly, closing his scrolls.
"Very well. Let's go."
He quickly gathered some equipment and followed Kakashi back.
When they entered, Kushina blinked in surprise.
"Orochimaru-sama? Why are you here?"
Kakashi rubbed his forehead.
"Didn't I tell you before I left that I was going to get him?"
Kushina tilted her head, confused.
"Did you?"
Kakashi nearly collapsed. Does pregnancy make people this forgetful already?
Orochimaru set down his instruments, his tone calm but carrying curiosity.
"Kakashi told me you're pregnant, Kushina. I'll give you a full examination."
