The first day at the Elemental Academy had been full of emotions. After collecting their uniforms and discovering their new rooms, Alaryc, Jake, and Alicia gathered in the main courtyard. Excitement was at its peak for everyone, but one question lingered in the hero's mind.
"So, Alaryc, what's next?" Jake asked with a mischievous grin.
"I think we should explore a bit," suggested Alicia. "We need to get familiar with the place."
Alaryc nodded in agreement. However, before they could start their exploration, a familiar voice called out behind them.
"Alaryc."
They turned to see Silvarya, the green-haired elf, staring at them with intensity. Jake and Alicia exchanged knowing glances, sensing something was up.
"Well, I guess we'll leave you to it, Alaryc," Jake teased before walking away with Alicia, leaving the two alone.
Silvarya, slightly blushing, stepped closer to Alaryc.
"I wanted to talk about what happened during the practical test," she said hesitantly.
Alaryc gave her a kind smile.
"You were amazing. Your spells were precise and powerful."
Silvarya blushed even more but held his gaze.
"Maybe, but you were even more incredible. That blue fireball… I've never seen such power."
She paused, visibly nervous, before continuing.
"I just wanted to say that I don't plan to stay in second place. Next time, I'll surpass you."
Alaryc, surprised by her bold statement, laughed.
"I'll look forward to that. But don't think I'll make it easy for you."
Silvarya nodded, a determined smile on her face, before turning to leave.
"We'll see, Alaryc. See you soon."
As she walked away, Jake and Alicia returned, curious.
"So, what did she want?" Alicia asked, teasingly.
"Nothing special," Alaryc replied with a mysterious smile.
The rest of the day was spent exploring the Academy. The trio discovered libraries filled with ancient tomes, training rooms equipped with advanced magical technology, and a massive cafeteria where all races mingled.
As they returned to their rooms, Alaryc went to bed with a smile. The rivalry with Silvarya promised to be intense, and he knew it would only push him to grow even stronger.
