Luna walked out of the kitchen and into the main hall. Looking around, she moved forward to the door in front of her, to the right of the stairs.
Walking in, she found a staircase leading down, seemingly to the basement. The walls were made with bricks, but there was no end to those stony stairs—they only blended into the darkness.
A cold shiver shot down Luna's spine as she decided to come here at last. She walked out, closing the door behind her, and skipped cheerfully towards and up the stairs.
Now there wasn't much to explore on the ground floor; the basement really feels as if it should've been left for last.
Anyway, let's see what the first floor has to offer!
Walking up the stairs, Luna turned sharply right and ran up, stopping to look around.
To the right, she saw at a glance only twelve doors; the same was on the other side.
Running up to the closest door, gripping the handle of a masterfully crafted door etched with a flower shape, simmingly of white lily. She pulled down on it and jumped into the room. The room was neatly decorated with many pieces of furniture and paintings alike.
She looked around, seeing nothing but beauty engulfing the area; the most beautiful thing she saw was the painting of serene meadows and a bed, surprisingly to her.
Seeing that there was nothing more to see, she ventured into the eleven rooms that were left. All of them were a one-to-one copy of the first room. Chuckling, she ran down the stairs and up onto the other side to check the rooms there, but to her surprise, they were identical. All twenty-four rooms were the same: furniture, paintings, and even the same bed.
In disbelief, she wiped her forehead, looking back to see that there was one more door—a double door, of the same design as every one here—leading somewhere.
It was disappointing that those rooms were exactly the same, but somehow I have the feeling that this Palace has more to offer than I know.
Running around towards those doors, which stood in the middle front of the hall up on the first floor, just as Luna was about to pull on the handle, she looked back and wondered, How can I get up to the second floor? Maybe there some stairs somewhere, who knows… Let's see…
Luna turned and pushed the doors, widely opening them to reveal a very long corridor with stairs leading up to the next floor.
Oh, so there are the stairs for the next floor. Niva would've liked it if he was with me, oh well. Then I have to explore this place fully to describe it to him.
She ran down the corridor, but in the middle it split into four. With a joyous smile, she spun while pointing forward; for a while she spun, and the spin landed onto the left wing corridor. So then Luna chose it and walked to the nearest doors, which were only a couple of steps from her standing spot.
Pushing down on the handle, the doors swung open, revealing a room full of weed. Medical weed.
Medical plants? Mr. Aux had an unnecessarily big amount of them, but whenever… Huh, I don't remember. Oh well, not that this is important right now! Luna glanced once more at the room. It was rather shabby compared to the corridor outside, but to Luna, it was a really comfortable room.
Walking out, she closed the doors behind her, running to the doors in front, where she was met with a doctor's room! , white bed for people to lie in , a curtain around to cover them and a table with documents stashed on, It looked eerily similar to Mr. Aux's doctor's room; every doctor's room really must be the same…
Well, there's nothing more to see! There are two more in this wing. Luna sharply gazed towards the last remaining doors at the end of the corridor and inwardly prayed for them not to be a storage room. She ran up to them, Opening them she was met with disappointment.
I guess every doctor is really obsessed with having an unnecessary amount of herbs. She saw as big a stash of herbs as in the first storage. Brushing it off with a chuckle, she went up to the last door and opened it, but to no one's shock—especially not to hers—she was met with… another medical herb.
I'm starting to think that this isn't just a hobby or a need. Does someone really have such an obsession? Probably Mr. Aux is the best example, hehe!
She walked out of the room and closed the door, and then the door in front of her. With that, every door closed, and she darted towards the right wing, stopping right in front of the closest door.
Opening it, she stormed into the room, only seeing what seemed to her to be glass flasks and towers. Alchemy? So there are such things here!
I know a lot about it, as it's Aria's hobby. She really is interested in those kinds of things.
She walked into the room, looking around. There were four shelves full of alchemy supplies and two tables in between, filled with alchemy flasks and supplies that were used. The walls held two skeletons of a beast, as tall as four humans that Luna couldn't recognise, probably due to her poor knowledge of animals.
Huge! How do such animals exist? Well, I never went outside my home, so there is a chance they exist in this size…
Well, there's nothing more to see…
Luna turned back as something caught her eye. It was a tube of sparkling black water. Oh right, Aria needed that. She was talking so passionately about how she needed that for hours.
Let's take it for her. I'll give it to her. She will be so happy! Luna inwardly exclaimed as she smiled warmly from ear to ear, and a slight blush grew on her cheeks. She will be so happy…
Luna placed it into her pocket on her right side and looked towards the door, her smile radiant on her face.
The same as it was in the left wing, the three remaining rooms were filled with alchemy supplies stashed one on top of another.
Who would've thought? Luna thought as she glared at the content of the fourth and last room in the right wing. Well, seeing all there is to be here, the stairs are left!
With that done, she couldn't help but run down the corridor and up the stairs, stopping right in front of the double doors. Really, does every door look the same? Huh.
Luna pushed on the handles, but the doors slowly opened by themselves. Her eyes glimmered as she looked at the hinges and the doors themselves, wondering I guess magic is really handy and wonderful!
But the room that those doors revealed was draped in complete darkness, save for a single candle lit in the middle.
It wasn't the same as with that basement. Luna didn't feel anything wrong; in her mind, there was nothing wrong with the room itself. So without hesitation, she skipped through the darkness, arriving next to the lit candle. It was placed on a beautiful table, its details shrouded in darkness, but underneath the candle, there was a sheet of paper.
Curiosity struck her, and she picked it up.
She glanced over the paper and was confused. Thoroughly, she read the content, but it added even more confusion. "Why would anyone leave it here, out of all places?"
