Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

Theodore's pov

I watched Miss Brown visibly stiffen upon hearing a woman unfamiliar to me call out to her, but apparently she and Miss Brown were well acquainted from the way she quickly spun around to regard her, even calling out her name.

"Olivia?"

Whatever relationship they had, it clearly wasn't a pleasant one. Miss Brown immediately became tense and stiff, her eyes shifting around as though she was looking for where to slip into and hide.

I decided to observe a bit more to see what Olivia would do.

"I was wondering how you were keeping it together after you ran away from home,"

From that I was able to conclude they were probably related, or at least resided in the same house.

Her eyes moved suggestively between me and Miss Brown.

"Clearly you've been using what you have to get what you lack,"

I was instantly filled with disgust at her blatant hypocrisy, she was accusing someone else of being promiscuous when she came to this hotel barely dressed with a man that was clearly just out for a good time.

"Olivia, he's my boss, don't–" Miss Brown tried to speak up, but Olivia only laughed in her face before she could finish.

"As if, didn't you say your boss was a billionaire? Why would somebody like that settle for a nobody like you?"

I saw Miss Brown's little confidence slowly crumble right before my eyes. She was a hard worker, which was something I appreciated about her. Incredibly meticulous and dedicated to detail, but I had noticed it in the past several times that she was, in the lack of a more polite way to say it, a doormat.

She hardly ever complained about anyone and was fine with having them step all over her, if this other woman confidently treated her like that; then it's possible that so it the rest of her family.

Realization struck me like a thunderbolt, no wonder she was prefering to tough it out in an abandoned restroom instead of reconciling with her family. Anyone would be fed up if they were constantly treated like this.

"I see some men will sleep with anything as long as it has a skirt on," that Olivia's nasty voice brought me back to reality, and by that time I was fairly furious.

Her companion who had been dabbling on his phone finally walked over impatiently.

"Cupcake, let's go!" He whined like a toddler.

"Sweetie wait, can you believe that this loser here is claiming to be THE Theodore Williams? I bet my desperate sister put him up to it–"

"Olivia, stop that! Whether or not you believe it. It's really him and I won't have you disrespect my boss,"

I could hardly believe it, she had been struggling to defend herself and yet she swooped in for me without hesitation.

Perhaps it was time I repaid her.

That woman let out a cackle that made me think of haggard witches.

"Do you know who my boyfriend is? He's a respected manager at Clover electronics company, one little call and he could ruin your dusty little boyfriend's life!"

I could barely hold back my chuckle when she said that but I managed to do so, I own a chain of companies and Clover electronics was a subsidiary of one of many.

I dug my fingers into pulling out my phone, it was a recognizable model made by Clove tech that had not been released to the public. Her lover recognized it and fear coated his face, but he didn't have a chance to react before I called his boss, one of my workers who promptly replied by the time I dropped my phone back into my pocket again he was ringing.

Olivia was still bragging to the sky and back down until she was cut off by her boyfriend who slapped her right across the face.

"You crazy b*tch! I just lost my job because of you!" he fumed and then turned to my direction walking over before falling on his knees, his countenance changing.

"Sir, please…I had no idea that–"

"Miss Brown, this place ought to have security, right?" I asked her and she seemed to jolt, she had been looking at her sister who was nursing a freshly bruised cheek.

"They should," she said a little reluctantly.

"Olivia, you should just go."

Olivia looked at her with bitterness, disregarding her kindness but she followed her lover as he cowardly left on his own.

"I'm sorry, Mr Williams," she quickly apologized.

"I never meant for you to get dragged into my personal drama, this is so embarrassing for me too,"

"It's okay, Miss Brown, there was no way for you to know that woman would be here. Who is she anyway?"

"My…my step-sister," her reply easily painted the rest of the picture for me. Her eyes glistened, and I felt empathetic towards her, who wouldn't?

Because I wasn't sure what to do with all of that, she remained fixed that spot like a statue, and it will be far too awkward for me to just leave like that.

"Everything is going to be fine, Miss Brown," I said to her with a confidence that felt a little misplaced, I could assure her of her job security but definitely couldn't solve her family squabbles.

I stepped closer and raised my hands to make a gesture before I spoke again. She seemed to mistake this as me reaching out for a hug. That was the only explanation that I could wrap around my head to explain why she had come at me like a cannonball, suddenly embracing me.

Pushing her away would be rude, it was my fault for causing the confusion in the first place so I ought to take responsibility so I had to chin up and bear it.

She pressed against me so ..softly, I wrapped my hand around her as well so she wouldn't think the hug was a mistake, knowing Miss Brown she will probably never let herself live it down if she knew the truth.

I had no idea that such a simple action would lead to me waking up the next morning with a bold headline that screamed on my screen with bold prints.

It read; Billionaire Theodore caught at Golden rings hotel with a secret lover?
