Chapter 184 - Chapter 184: Leon and Rose

[October 10th]

Axel, as usual, brought his Pokémon for training.

After Cynthia left, the training instructor for Gyarados became Pheromosa.

Adding in Nihilego occasionally giving Gyarados a lesson, it barely allowed him to keep up with his previous progress.

The other Pokémon remained calm and peaceful. Gardevoir sat to the side, occasionally extending a strand of psychic power to spar with Axel.

Dragonair was teasing cats and dogs outside the training field, while Duraludon continuously apologized.

The only change was that Mewtwo's tablet had been replaced by a Rotom-like projection device, which was used to watch cartoons with Eternatus and Ho-oh.

Under Ho-oh's persistent efforts, Eternatus now had some awareness.

However...

Axel always felt that under Mewtwo and Ho-oh's "discipline," this Eternatus might end up a little... broken.

"So comfy~ This is what life in the Pokémon world should be like~"

After finishing a round of training, Axel leisurely leaned against Gardevoir's lap, planning to rest a while.

Just then, his Rotom phone suddenly rang.

["Master, Norton is calling!"]

'Norton? Why is he contacting me all of a sudden?'

Axel sat up, "Help me answer it."

Norton's image appeared, looking very excited.

["Axel, today all major TV stations in Aurient will report your accomplishment of Gigantamaxing in Aurient."]

["If nothing goes wrong, you're about to soar into the sky!"]

Axel's expression remained calm as he glanced lightly at the cartoon-watching trio of Legendary Beasts beside him.

'Are you sure it's just beginning?'

["Cough cough~",] Seeing Axel's calm demeanor, Norton was visibly awkward.

But as an experienced, thick-skinned veteran powerhouse, Norton quickly shook off the discomfort from his face.

["This news was delayed a bit before reporting, mainly out of concern for your safety."]

["The League has already urgently summoned Elite Homer to station in Ninox Province."]

["Combined with our school's security measures, unless more than two Champion-level trainers show up at the same time, your safety is absolutely guaranteed."]

"Then I'll thank you in advance," Axel smiled and nodded.

Seeing Axel accepting the gesture, Norton visibly let out a sigh of relief.

As educators, what they hoped most was for outstanding juniors to feel a sense of belonging to Aurient.

Only then could the League continue to pass down generation after generation.

["Alright, I won't say much more."]

["After this news breaks, Galar is probably going to start frantically contacting you."]

["After all, this event is way too important to their strategic planning."]

["But the principal asked me to pass on one thing to you:"]

["As a junior of Aurient, as long as you don't want to, no one can force you to do anything."]

Upon hearing this, Axel became serious, "Teacher, I'll remember that."

"Alright, then I won't disturb you further, get back to it."

Before Axel could hang up, he heard excited voices from the other side of the call.

["Axel just called me Teacher!"]

Followed by a female teacher's voice, ["Hahaha, look how proud you are."]

["This is how Aurient passes things down, generation after generation. As long as you treat them sincerely, these adorable juniors will slowly become reliable seniors."]

["This is legacy. May Aurient prosper forever!"]

Hearing the voices of the teachers on the other side, Axel and Gardevoir looked at each other and both smiled...

[Galar Region, Rose Tower]

Rose stood in a massive conference room. Beside him was Leon, wearing his red cape.

In front of them, the enormous screen was broadcasting a fresh news report from Aurient.

Axel's Dynamax Gyarados and Gigantamax Duraludon let out roaring cries, and Rose's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"See that, Leon? Someone has truly achieved Dynamax outside the Galar region."

"If we can obtain this secret, you can definitely become stronger."

"Then the League headquarters will prioritize allocating resources to you, and you'll have the power to completely solve Galar's energy problem."

Leon stretched out his right hand and tapped lightly on the table in front of him before slowly speaking, "Being able to Dynamax in Aurient was his opportunity."

"Besides, we've also studied that Dragonite in Kanto that supposedly naturally Gigantamaxes. In the end, didn't we find it had nothing to do with Dynamaxing?"

"The matters of Galar don't require help from anyone. I can become stronger on my own."

"How will you become stronger?", Rose adjusted the collar of his suit, looking at Leon with a disappointed glare.

"By taking all those commercials?"

"I obviously have endless money here that could let you focus entirely on growing stronger, but you just want to earn it yourself."

"I'm telling you, your strength isn't for your own sake, and I'm not making money for myself either."

"We share a common goal, to ensure Galar's survival."

"Did you read the document Oleana gave you?"

"At the current rate of energy usage, about a thousand years from now, Galar will be facing an energy crisis with no power left to use."

"Without Dynamax, how will we fight off villains from other regions?"

Leon still shook his head, "I can grow stronger. That trainer from Aurient is still young."

"What he should be doing now is growing, not worrying over saving the world."

"Even without Dynamax, I'm still undefeated."

"Tomorrow, Raihan and I have a scheduled battle, I've got things to do."

Watching Leon walk away, Rose rubbed his temples hard, slumping helplessly into the chair behind him.

"Leon... I understand your desire to protect your juniors, but for the future of Galar, I must do everything I can."

"Oleana, come in."

After a while, a blonde woman walked through the conference room doors.

She wore a figure-hugging red sweater and slim jeans, with a white coat draped casually over her shoulders.

She looked extremely capable.

"Chairman, you called for me?"

Oleana's tone was calm, clearly indicating there wasn't a strict superior-subordinate dynamic between the two.

"I don't know what you and Leon just talked about, but I have to tell you, as the chairman of the Galar region, you should maintain a good relationship with the regional Champion."

"And also, I'm really busy right now. If you want to complain, call me during dinner tonight."

Rose: "..."

"Take a look at the big screen. This is a news report that just came out from Aurient."

Oleana stopped nagging and focused her gaze on the screen.

The moment she saw Gyarados Dynamax, her pupils contracted sharply, and her tone grew serious.

"Chairman, what do you need me to do?"

"I need you to personally go to Aurient and establish a friendship with that trainer named Axel."

"If possible, invite him to live in Galar."

"After all, our region's overall strength is considered among the strongest in the League, and..."

At this point, Rose paused and then smiled as he said, "And if I'm not mistaken, our Nessa and Piers' younger sister are both still single. You could take the chance to introduce the young trainer to them sometime."

Oleana: "..."

'Can you be a little more reliable?'
