During the time Kyurem appeared, many Pokémon from the small towns nearby all gathered around.
Because of the existence of Ho-Oh, they weren't affected like the Pokémon in the sea.
What weighed on them more was a kind of anxious emotion.
Afraid that their homes where they lived would be destroyed, afraid that their friends and family who went out would die for no reason.
Many Pokémon were blankly watching this battle beside Axel and the others.
Among them was a Diglett holding an ear of corn.
After he came here, he just stupidly stood next to the Excadrill, dumbfounded, even forgetting to eat the corn by his mouth.
For him, this battle was really way out of his league.
Scarier than a natural disaster.
Just as the Diglett was frozen, worrying about whether he would die today, Axel suddenly looked at him.
"Brother, do you want to slay a god?"
Hearing this, Diglett blinked hard.
'Slay a god?'
'I, this little Diglett, can slay a god?'
Just the clash of cold and heat was already causing his stamina to keep dropping, almost to the point of near-death.
Looking like this, and still able to slay a god?
Seeing Diglett's unconfident look, Axel's lips curved slightly.
"As long as you want to, you can slay a god."
"You are a Pokémon, Kyurem is also a Pokémon."
"In essence, you're both magical creatures, what are you afraid of him for?"
Diglett blinked, feeling something wasn't right.
But seeing Axel's confident look, he still half-believed and nodded.
'Right, I'm not afraid!'
"Then tell me, do you want to slay a god?"
'I do!'
Diglett nodded without hesitation. Although he felt he couldn't do it, he really wanted to.
This giant ice dragon came and destroyed their home, he wanted to hit back too.
"Good, very strong willpower," Axel gave Diglett a thumbs up, encouraging him, "Since you want to slay a god, then you can go now."
Diglett: "???"
'Big brother, I want to slay a god, not that I can slay a god.'
'Please, get clear on the difference between those two sentences!'
'If I could slay a god, wouldn't I have gone already?'
"Relax, wanting to slay a god means you can slay a god," Axel patted his chest, coaxing him, "As long as you follow my command, I'll let you have a taste today, okay?"
"I'm telling you, it'll feel great!"
Diglett looked at Axel, then at the Pokémon fighting beside Axel, and, for no reason, believed a little.
'Such a strong trainer couldn't possibly be lying, right?'
'Let's do it!'
Axel glanced at the sky above the sea. Mewtwo had already carried Kyurem higher and higher, very close to where Rayquaza had summoned lightning.
"Since you agreed, then let's start?"
"DIG!", Diglett nodded hard.
"Then sit tight!"
Axel coughed, patted the stunned Lacey, signaling her to let go of him first.
The next moment, Axel crouched and grabbed Diglett's body.
Then suddenly threw him toward the place where Rayquaza's lightning had gathered.
Diglett instantly passed through the thunder hell, appearing directly below Rayquaza.
Right there, lightning had almost condensed into substance.
Diglett blinked, still not understanding why Axel threw him here.
This Electric-type skill had no effect on him anyway.
"Exactly because it has no effect!"
Axel grinned, turned to Mewtwo, and shouted, "Mewtwo, use Confuse Ray on Kyurem, you must keep him under control!"
["Understood!"]
Mewtwo's majestic voice sounded in Axel's mind, her eyes bursting with red light, psychic power pushed to the extreme, not giving Kyurem the slightest chance to break free.
The next moment, a dark energy surged from Mewtwo's body, eerie black light pressing against Kyurem's body and seeping inside him.
Kyurem's eyes went dull for a moment, briefly entering a confused state.
"Diglett, now's the time, use Ally Switch on Kyurem!"
[Ally Switch: Use mysterious power to instantly swap places with the opponent.]
In the games, this skill could only be used on allies.
But in the Pokémon world, obviously there was no such restriction.
This was exactly why Axel chose this Diglett.
Immune to Electric due to its Ground typing, and having Ally Switch in its move set.
It was simply tailor-made for this situation.
As soon as Axel finished speaking, a violent red light burst from Diglett's body.
A faint connection formed between him and Kyurem.
At another time, this connection would have been broken instantly by Kyurem.
But now it was different.
Kyurem's body was covered with Mewtwo's psychic power, unable to move at all.
Even his mind was made muddled by Mewtwo's Confuse Ray just now.
It could be said that right now Kyurem was completely defenseless.
By relying on that faint connection, Diglett and Kyurem's figures swapped.
Diglett appeared in Mewtwo's arms, while Kyurem appeared in the thunderstorm above.
BOOM!
Rayquaza seized the opportunity, and all the lightning above the sea exploded, forming a continuous violent blast.
"All Pokémon, evacuate!", Seeing Kyurem caught, Axel shouted loudly.
As someone who had been through middle school, and didn't sleep through physics and chemistry class, a "good student," he knew well what was about to happen on the sea.
Lightning struck the ocean surface, producing large amounts of gas in the process of electrolysis, filling the air with a special smell.
The next moment, centered on Kyurem, the sea erupted with terrifying explosions, mixed with Kyurem's shrill roars.
By Axel's side, Lacey covered her mouth in shock.
She could hardly understand Axel's way of fighting.
"Axel, this… this is what skill?"
Axel grinned, "This isn't a skill, this is the meaning of a trainer's existence!"
"Pokémon have power, we have flexible and adaptable minds, only when combined are we complete."
"Rayquaza, Mewtwo, prepare to give him the final blow."
Axel knew, though the explosion was terrifying, it most likely couldn't finish Kyurem off.
They still needed greater power.
At Axel's command, Rayquaza and Mewtwo nodded, each gathering Dragon Pulse and Aura Sphere.
The sound of explosions around Kyurem grew quieter, and the electric energy dissipated.
With a roar, Kyurem's figure reappeared before Axel.
Now, he no longer looked ferocious and terrifying as before. The ice covering his body was almost entirely destroyed, and blood was flowing uncontrollably from his dragon body.
Each drop of blood that fell into the sea splashed up huge waves, as though every drop weighed a thousand pounds.
His gaze locked straight on Axel, his mouth grinding out a creaking sound, obviously gnashing his teeth.
["Human, you really make me angry!"]
Axel blinked, not taking Kyurem's threat seriously at all, only pointing upward.
Instinctively, Kyurem raised his head. A red and purple beam of energy was shooting straight for his skull.
From Gardevoir's hands, two stones released a heralding sound, ["Stupid big dragon, are you still angry now?"]
["Our master is invincible!"]
Kyurem's lips trembled. Shivering, he looked at Reshiram and Zekrom.
With a muffled groan, he directly fainted from rage.
