[November 4th, Sunny]
"ROAR!"
With a thunderous roar, the massive body of Gyarados halted in the sky.
A vast and imposing continent appeared before Axel.
Compared to Unova, this place looked much more primitive, retaining many of the ancient Hisui region's features.
This continent was split by the endless Mt. Coronet range, with three giant inland lakes scattered irregularly along it, forming tangents with the mountains.
This wasn't Axel's first time seeing Mt. Coronet, on the way to Unova, he had already seen it before.
But compared to last time, Mt. Coronet was now covered in vast sheets of snow-white.
And from this angle, the mountain range looked even grander.
Even more mysterious was that, from the sky, one could see a faint strange energy shrouding Sinnoh.
"Is it time and space?", Axel lightly touched that profound energy, thinking quietly.
If he remembered correctly, the place where Sinnoh's time and space dragons appeared should be near Eterna City or Alamos Town.
In the movie, Dialga and Palkia lived in separate dimensions.
But for some reason, their dimensions overlapped in Alamos Town.
Dialga and Palkia both thought their territory was being invaded, so they fought without hesitation.
Last time, Cynthia had mentioned Darkrai, which meant Alamos Town definitely existed.
But just Darkrai alone couldn't rule out another possibility.
In the Special manga, Galactic Boss Cyrus wanted to create a new world, so he enslaved Sinnoh's Lake Trio and forged a special chain.
Using that chain, he drove Dialga and Palkia into battle...
'So which version of the disaster is it this time?'
But this wasn't hard to figure out, he could just ask Cynthia.
Although Axel had accepted Lacey's request, he remembered clearly.
Platinum Berlitz had indeed faced danger in this conflict, but her life was never actually harmed.
Axel still decided to find Cynthia first, to resolve Sinnoh's problem at the root.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
A few busy tones came through, and Axel's brows furrowed.
Cynthia's side actually had no signal.
After a few seconds of thought, Axel sighed and decided to head toward Mt. Coronet.
No matter where Dialga and Palkia were, their final battle site, and Cynthia's hometown, were all near Mt. Coronet.
"Gyarados, lock onto that mountain range, let's go!"
"ROAR!"
Gyarados's body surged forward, flying straight toward the central region of the distant Mt. Coronet.
But just then, a dizzying sensation appeared.
Axel felt his body experiencing constant shifts between heavy gravity and weightlessness, similar to Gardevoir's Teleport.
When he came to, he was already in a small town.
This town was full of buildings, and not far away, he could even see a castle.
"Has the battle between Dialga and Palkia already gotten this bad?"
Axel frowned, his sense of urgency deepening.
Even just entering Sinnoh was affected by Palkia, and Cynthia couldn't be reached.
The situation in Sinnoh was likely worse than he thought.
"Rotom, help me check which city this is, and also find the locations of Alamos Town or Eterna City."
"Roger, Roto!"
Rotom zipped out of Axel's pocket, excitedly circling him.
But soon its circling slowed, and its voice grew dejected.
"Seems like there's no location data, Roto..."
"No location data?", Axel asked, puzzled.
He beckoned Rotom into his hand.
The next moment, Axel's pupils shrank sharply.
He remembered clearly that when he came here it was November 4th. But now Rotom showed October 21st.
More than ten days earlier.
At this time... Cynthia hadn't even called him yet, right?
"As expected of Dialga, who controls time, and Palkia, who controls space."
"Everything is so bizarre."
Axel took a deep breath, but he wasn't too surprised.
These three dragons here might not be as powerful in raw strength, but their divine authorities were infamous.
Being able to affect time and space was perfectly normal.
"Rotom, try Cynthia's number again."
Beep! Beep! Beep!
As expected, the call failed again.
Right now, it seemed Axel didn't fully belong to this timeline, yet wasn't completely apart from it either.
After thinking for a bit, Axel decided to take things step by step.
Being influenced by the time-space dragons and traveling through time, this was, in a way, a blessing.
Now Axel had plenty of time to determine which version of the story was unfolding here, and then act accordingly.
If it was the manga, he'd stop Team Galactic's plan.
If it was the movie, he'd head straight to Alamos Town to talk them down.
Once he met Dialga and Palkia, he would naturally break free from this strange state.
"Let's go, let's find someone to ask what this place is."
"Roto!"
Axel nodded and rose from his chair.
Suddenly, a crisp voice came from behind him, "Excuse me... are you the bodyguard my family hired?"
Axel turned toward the voice.
Standing behind him was a girl with long dark-blue hair and delicate features.
She wore a teal scarf, a deep-red long coat, teal over-the-knee socks, and pink boots.
It was exactly Platinum Berlitz, as Lacey had described in her letter.
Axel knew a little about her.
She was the eldest daughter of the Berlitz family, who for generations had worked as researchers. Even the Rayquaza Institute in Johto carried their shares.
Saying they were "as wealthy as a nation" wasn't an exaggeration.
A lady like this naturally wasn't short of family love.
Before she set out on her journey, her butler grandfather and her parents had already found her a professional bodyguard, to escort her in completing the Berlitz family's special rite of passage. Reaching the summit of Mt. Coronet.
In the Special manga, Platinum had mistaken the wrong man for her bodyguard, and so began her journey by accident.
Later, Team Galactic even kidnapped Platinum for more research funds, setting off a chain of events.
And now... she thought he was her bodyguard?
Axel shook his head with a smile, "Little sister, I—"
"You should call me 'Lady,'" Platinum interrupted seriously, cutting off Axel's words.
Axel: "???"
'I'm not even on your payroll, why should I call you Lady?'
"Little sister, I just wanted to ask—"
"About your salary?", Platinum frowned, "Although my parents set you a salary of tens of millions, it really is a bit low."
"As long as you protect me until Mt. Coronet's summit, the Berlitz family will give you a Gible cub as an extra bonus. How about that?"
'Gible?'
Axel's eyes lit up.
No matter the region, pseudo-legendaries were always an absolute rare resource.
And in Sinnoh, Gible was the very definition of power.
In several generations, Garchomp, even without Dragon Dance, had become the dominant force in battle.
Not to mention, Axel's Rayquaza could teach Garchomp Dragon Dance...
Thinking of this, Axel immediately nodded.
"Yes, Lady!"
