Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: A Pinch Too Much

The smell of cinnamon and yeast still lingered in the bakery, but Kwang-su's expression cut through it like a knife. The dough on the counter looked like it was about to be caught red-handed.

"How much salt did you put in this, seriously?" Kwang-su asked, raising his eyebrows at Jun-seo.

Jun-seo, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, turned slightly. "I followed the recipe. Maybe... a pinch too much?"

"A pinch?" Kwang-su dipped his finger into the dough, tasted it, and instantly grimaced. "This isn't bread dough, this is sea water. People will eat this and get a heart attack, not breakfast."

Jun-seo put a hand on his hip. "Oh, please. You accidentally used anise instead of black pepper last week—no one died."

"Did anyone eat it? No. Because I stopped them!"

Mr. Min, wiping down the back shelves, turned his head toward them, chuckling softly. "Before you two start wrestling, offer customers a glass of water. Maybe it'll balance things out."

Mr. Jin-woo entered through the back door carrying a box of pastries. "What's going on now? Another 'creative recipe'?"

Kwang-su raised both hands. "Not creative. Salt swamp."

Jun-seo rolled his eyes. "Okay, you know what? You do it, then. Since you're so perfect."

Without saying a word, Kwang-su took the tray, though a faint smirk was tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Thanks. Didn't expect you to admit it this early."

Mr. Min turned to Mr. Jin-woo, whispering with a playful smile, "When do you think something will actually happen between those two?"

Mr. Jin-woo slipped an arm around his shoulder and replied in a low voice, "I'm pretty sure it already has. They just don't know it yet."
