Chapter 20 - Diyu

Haru quickly gets out of bed and heads outside, He hears the screams of people and as he heads out.

He sees people in agony, Hands start to come out from the mouth of the people.

They were falling down one after another, the chief shouts "Fall bac- and he stops, his eyes gauge out, fingers and hands start to come out from his mouth, his throat swollen and bleeding, this has never occurred anywhere on what they have encountered.

Nami comes out of the tent but is pushed by Haru inside, he stops her from looking out. He puts his lips on his finger indicating a shush.

Everyone including the bear, stops moving.

It was dead silence, as though divine retribution has fallen. Haru could hear the footsteps of the undead approaching, he could feel death coming to get him. He suddenly felt something uneasy.

He starts to breathe faster, his heart beats faster, It was FEAR. This was the first time he had such a feeling, to be cornered by death. Nami looks at him and pats on his back to comfort him.

"I'm fine, you wait here" says Haru as

He musters up his courage and heads out, it was like a garden, yet it wasn't the flowers which bloomed, It was hands coming out from the throat of the people.

Though he was yet to recover his mana, he blocks the entry of the tent with his ice.

The snow was dyed in red, with the blood of the people. The general stood there walking towards him.

—"Who are yo— And then he was done for,

He felt blood rushing to his head, he couldn't breathe nor speak anymore. He felt as though someone was grabbing his neck, as he looks down, he sees a finger coming out.

You got me

And hands bloomed from his throat, and blood rushes down spilling from his eyes. He fell to his knees, with lots of hands coming out from his mouth.

ANICENT ALTAR

It was already midnight here and as Kiro as about to go for sleep, he saw Nasu heading up to the mountain, he wondered what Nasu will be doing there at that moment since it was already dark.

Their Shrine was located at the bottom of the mountain and so he started to climb up the mountain. It was a Rocky Mountain, thin and tall in shape.

Nasu was climbing up to summon the portal which led to the underworld Diyu, he recalled Kiro's words of going in to save him even though Jin was someone unknown to him.

After hearing him, he made his mind to enter the realm of the Underworld.

As he reached the portal,

he put down his lamp and touched the stone.

Touching the stone was the key to open the portal and only the owner of that mountain could open the portal.

The stone was dark in colour with cracks, which lit up in purple colour as he touched.

I might never come again after entering

But what use is it if I remain here and not don anything about it

And the portal opened, it was so bright, he could barely see what was inside, as he was about to enter.

He was pulled from behind, and he fell down to the ground. He saw a man enter the portal waving his hands as he smiled.

It was Kiro—"I'll be back soon along with Jin!!, shouted Kiro as he entered.

Nasu raised his hands to stop him but it was futile. Kiro was already absorbed into the portal, He grabbed the sand and clenched it in frustration. He knew that no mortal would be able to survive there.

Why go through the extent of helping someone you rarely met.

Nasu got up and threw the sand he held towards the portal and punched the Rock.

He went back to sit on a rock, hoping for Kiro to make it back.

As Kiro entered through the portal, he felt as though the gravity there was about to crush him. He kept falling down but it was too dark to see anything.

My limbs!!! It's about to tear,

My mind can't handle this!!

Kiro was going crazy because of the immense pain the portal caused.

He Grinned as he fell,

I wonder what kinds of monsters will appear,

What kinds of Gods I'll meet.

Wondered Kiro as he fell, it was a long journey to go to the depths of Diyu.

Diyu is a Chinese Underwolrd which was ruled by 10 kings.

A subterranean realm where souls are taken after death to atone for their sins. It's depicted as a maze-like structure with various levels and chambers, each with unique forms of punishment.

As he fell, images of Mouths appeared as though they were talking. Those mouths moved but he could not hear what they said.

Huge eyes started to appear as he fell deeper, all eyes gazed upon him.

Hundreds of eyes gazed upon him, with various emotions; sadness, happiness, anger, murder, depression.

Looking at this Kiro threw up, he could hear sounds of wooden chair creaking. At last he landed on the underworld, Before he could take a step, he prayed; LET ALL EVILS PERISH UNDER MY FEET.

This statement made the Kings of Underworld tremble in fear.

Every King noticed an unknown entity has entered into their territory.

One of the kings: Go and check who is he!!!

They all felt the weightage of a heavenly entity enter their realm, but they knew it was impossible since it has never happened.

As Kiro went to the Gate, there stood two tall guards with an Ox-head with body of a human and the other was the head of a horse, Each held spears into their hands.

They both stood in anxiously, as they did not know where to take this live human, as this was the realm of the dead.

Kiro looked at them—-"I wish to see the ruler of this Underworld"

They both looked at one another, afraid to take decisions on their own.

A man walked towards them, it was Qīngguāngwáng, one of the Ten Kings of Diyuor known as the Ten Courts of Hell.

They are not necessarily evil but are Taoist Deities who oversee the underworld.

He had long black hair, wearing a Changshan(Chinese traditional robe, also known as changpao or Davis) which was black in colour with golden patterns.

—"And here I thought someone from Tian has entered" said Qīngguāngwáng as he moved towards Kiro and leaned to check on him—"To have survived the portal, you truly are a blessed one."

Kiro looked at him nervously since, the one standing infront of him was one of the kings.

—"I'm here to release a man, named Jin"

Qīngguāngwáng laughed and mocked him, as he did not expect a mortal human to come here and release one of the mountain Gods.

—"Look here, we're not running a kindergarten which you can come and take someone as you please."

He laughed and touched Kiro's shoulder, indicating that he was not serious with him.

When he touched his shoulder, he felt a Zap running through him. He saw a mysterious figure which spoke to him in anger-

How dare someone from Diyu touch me!!

And he quickly took back his hand in fear.

From that moment he knew that the one standing infront of him was not a mere mortal.
