Fei Xue happily counted the silver teals in the box. A full set of 24 shining silver teals.
Qing An and An Bai looked on helplessly, as their Xiaojie emptied out all the valuables of the courtyard.
Not only decorations, their Xiaojie did not even leave the more expensive dresses. It appeared that their Xiaojie had gotten addicted to pawing.
An Bai glared at Qing An with tearful resentment.
"What?"
Qing An tactlessly questioned while receiving the golden hairpins from their Xiaojie to pawn.
An Bai glanced at their Xiaojie one last time before exiting the room dramatically with the tray of tea and snacks.
"Qing An."
Fei Xue waved over, with her other hand holding an accounts book.
"How much money would a person need to buy a ship here?"
Qing An dropped her head. In a quiet voice, she replied, "This servant has mostly stayed in the mansion and has not much perception of such matters."
Fei Xue nodded her head in understanding.
Hmm...looking at the account book, Fei Xue wondered.
It would be better to go outside and get some field research done. Maybe she could visit the pier and look around. 24 silver teals aren't bad but if she was truly to separate from the family and live her life traveling with comfort; she would have to find a source of income, one must always remember, no matter how abundant water in a lake is, without the supply from the ocean, it will gradually dry up.
Fei Xue drew up a plan in her head. She had pawned enough things from her courtyard, any more and it would be too obvious.
