Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 The First Love is a Jerk

Wang Dan said, "That works, just come to the mall where I sell scarves to find me."

"I'm really grateful to you, um… do I need to prepare anything?"

"Well, not much, just a few clothes, toiletries, and some travel expenses. As for accommodation, you can stay at my dorm first, and move out once you find a job." Wang Dan felt especially sympathetic toward this poor little sister.

Sun Chan kept expressing her gratitude as Wang Dan saw her out.

Walking on the road, Sun Chan felt a little nervous. She had no money on her now. But even so, she had to leave, believing that the heavens would not forsake her.

I want to leave the village and see the world outside!

On the way back, she was preoccupied with this major decision and didn't notice someone approaching, nearly colliding with them.

Sun Chan didn't look up and instinctively stepped aside to let the other person pass first.

"Sun Chan, it's me. I came to find you." The person was a tall, strong man with thick brows and big eyes, giving off an honest vibe. He was wearing a slightly worn white shirt and was none other than her former partner, Ding Hu.

Ding Hu's family resented Sun Chan for being adopted and insisted that if she married into the family, she wouldn't bring any dowry. This caused constant friction, eventually leading to their breakup. Furthermore, his family was in debt for pesticide and seed money to the village, which they couldn't repay each year. Left with no choice, he compromised and got engaged to Liu Mei.

These past few days, he had been feeling distressed, wanting to find Sun Chan but not daring to. He could only wander around her house. Who knew such a coincidence would occur today?

Sun Chan looked just as beautiful as before, with her shiny black hair. Though her clothes were tattered, they couldn't hide her elegant demeanor.

Ding Hu's heart warmed: This is the woman I truly love.

But upon seeing him, Sun Chan didn't display any joy. Instead, she showed a trace of disgust, frowning and stepping back a few steps: "Do you have any business with me?"

"Don't be like this, Chan'er, I truly care about you."

Sun Chan laughed coldly inside, care?

In her past life, Ding Hu always professed his care for her. Even after marriage, while living in the same village, close to each other, he never helped once when she suffered. Sun Chan never blamed him, as after all, they were each living their own lives.

But this man, on a rainy day, crawled into the shed where she was taking shelter to take advantage of her. Only after biting and scratching him did she manage to drive him away,

When Liu Mei discovered his wounds, Ding Hu even framed Sun Chan for seducing him.

Liu Mei stormed over with a rolling pin, causing a scene. The entire village pointed fingers at her, calling her shameless and promiscuous, clinging to her past love despite being married for years. Zhou Jinzhu even beat her so badly that she couldn't get out of bed for several days.

Ding Hu continued behaving as if nothing happened, trying to take advantage of her behind others' backs.

He even said, "If you accept me, I won't say anything to anyone. Otherwise, with just one word, you'll be the one suffering!"

Frightened, she avoided him as much as possible, and with the villagers' scorn, her life was as miserable as a rat running across the street. The thought of his past actions filled her with hatred.

It was good they broke up, or marrying him would have led to the same miserable fate!

Ding Hu spoke tenderly, "I came to see you. I know you haven't been well these days."

"Nothing's wrong." Sun Chan replied coolly, "Since you're engaged, just live well with her. Why keep looking for me? You should hurry back."

Ding Hu opened his mouth but his heart sank: "Sun Chan, can't you be a bit less cold? I didn't want to break up with you either, it was my parents who forced me. Why can't you understand me at all?" When he first brought up the breakup, she kept crying and begging him to stay, so he thought it safe to come looking for her, hoping for some warmth behind his wife's back.

But who would have thought she'd turn so cold?

"Heh, so because you're wronged, even if you're married, we should still continue. You want me to be your mistress? What do you take me for?" Sun Chan mocked, "Since we broke up, we shouldn't associate with each other anymore. I never realized you had such poor character before?"

Ding Hu looked embarrassed, hanging his head, "Sun Chan, I'm forced too. But I really care about you. If afterward, you have any problems in the village, just tell me. I will help you."

"There's no need. I won't need it, and besides, I won't stay in the village."

"What? You're leaving? That can't be, aren't you going to get engaged to Zhou Jinzhu?" He looked at her in disbelief. He had waited for so long, hadn't even held her hand!

Sun Chan smiled, "Who said I'm going to get engaged to him? If I want to go, I'll go, it's none of your business."

This shameless person, knowing I was about to enter a pit, not only didn't care but also wanted to take advantage.

Ding Hu panicked, still wanting to keep her by his side. After all, he really couldn't stand Liu Mei's appearance, while Sun Chan was more delicate. How could he have had a relationship for so long and never even held her hand? What a loss.

Ding Hu blocked Sun Chan, "Wait for me, Sun Chan. I don't have feelings for Liu Mei, I'm willing to divorce her. Give me time, once my family's debts are paid, I'll surely divorce her."

Sun Chan looked at him coldly, feeling a wave of nausea: "If you have no feelings for Liu Mei, why marry her? And why should I wait for you? It's over. You know the most important thing to our village people is reputation, don't you? How dare you want me to live with you ambiguously? Forget it. Don't bother me again in the future!"

"Sun Chan, that's not what I meant. Please hear me out…" He said while grabbing Sun Chan's hand, attempting to pull her into his arms.

"Get away! Or I'll shout until the whole village knows. See how shameless you are!" Sun Chan suddenly pushed him away, her face flushed with anger, her breathing quickened. Thinking of his shameless behavior in her past life, her face filled with rage: "You're quite the big man, doing such disgraceful things, aren't you afraid of others pointing fingers at you?"

Ding Hu felt unwilling, knowing she still liked him once, how did she suddenly become like this?

He was about to soften his words and try to mend things when a woman's scream came from behind, "You shameless slut, what are you doing flirting with my man in broad daylight!" It was Liu Mei.

Her body was stout, her shirt tight against her plump figure. Her dark skin, bulbous nose, and small, angry eyes glared at the closeness between the two, seething with jealousy. She wished she could tear that pretty face of Su Chan's, storming over with anger.

Sun Chan, no longer the timid one from her past life, let out a cold laugh, waiting for her to come.
