This matter is far from over!
What a coincidence.
Old scores and new grievances will be settled together.
"The Copper Coin Taoist Temple has a score to settle with me as well. I'm going to pay them a visit," Mo Lin declared, his rage burning fiercely.
"What are you doing? The Copper Coin Taoist Temple isn't even in Yun Chuan," Li Yue Mei's words were like a bucket of cold water, pouring down on Mo Lin.
Mo Lin had originally planned to confront the Copper Coin Taoist Temple, but now he was stunned to learn it wasn't located in Yun Chuan.
"Don't be so surprised," Li Yue Mei continued, "It's perfectly normal that the Copper Coin Taoist Temple isn't in Yun Chuan. After all, Yun Chuan is just a small place. The Copper Coin Taoist Temple is located in the North Sea, not here."
Mo Lin felt foolish, his temper clouding his judgment.
"Someone from the Copper Coin Taoist Temple must have come to Yun Chuan and placed a seal on Hong Yan Xun," Li Yue Mei added, offering a reasonable explanation.
Mo Lin pondered this for a moment, and it made sense.
"Do you know the name of the person who placed the seal on you?" Mo Lin asked, turning to Hong Yan Xun.
With a resigned sigh, Hong Yan Xun spoke, "Yuan Hui."
"Alright, I've got it. I'll make sure this gets sorted out," Mo Lin said. He then picked up his phone and sent a message in the Ghost Master group.
Mo Lin: "Does anyone know Yuan Hui? I need to find him."
Feng Ming Yu: "Mo Lin, where have you been these past few days? I sent you messages, and you didn't reply."
Lin Xi: "Yeah, what's going on? Be honest."
Mo Lin: "I was handling some personal matters, been busy."
Lin Xi: "What do you need with Yuan Hui? He's from the Copper Coin Taoist Temple."
Mo Lin: "Settling old scores. Do you know where he is?"
Lin Xi: "I know. He's eating right ahead of me. Hurry up and come, or he'll leave soon."
Mo Lin: "Send me the location, I'm coming now."
Lin Xi quickly sent him the location.
Without hesitation, Mo Lin led Hong Yan Xun toward Yuan Hui. Li Yue Mei did not follow. She had her own matters to deal with, such as handling the aftermath of Li San's death. She left alone.
The location Lin Xi provided was near the Wan Hai Plaza, at a barbecue restaurant. Yuan Hui was sitting there, eating with an older man, both chatting and laughing.
Lin Xi: "Mo Lin, hurry up! It looks like they're about done. If you don't come now, they'll leave."
Mo Lin pressed the accelerator to the floor, speeding toward Wan Hai Plaza.
There, Lin Xi stood, wearing a blue and white dress, scanning the crowd as if waiting for someone. When she saw Mo Lin, she hurried over to him.
"Quickly… they're over there." Lin Xi pointed toward a young man wearing a black T-shirt, the one wearing a necklace strung with copper coins.
Seeing Yuan Hui about to leave, Lin Xi shouted urgently, "Stop!"
Yuan Hui slowed his pace, turning his head to look at Mo Lin and then at Lin Xi.
"Can I help you?"
"Of course there's something. Do you think I would come to you if there wasn't?" Mo Lin said, his voice filled with resolve.
"Brother, what's this about?" Yuan Hui asked, feigning a polite demeanor. Mo Lin found his pretense nauseating.
"Stop the act… You're the one who placed the seal on Hong Yan Xun, aren't you?" Mo Lin coldly confronted him.
Yuan Hui's smile faded, replaced by a solemn expression.
He knew exactly who Hong Yan Xun was. She was a target assigned to him by the Li family, so he had sealed her contracted ghost.
"Does it concern you?" Yuan Hui retorted, his voice sharp.
"Remove the seal from Hong Yan Xun, now," Mo Lin commanded.
"Sorry, I can't do that," Yuan Hui refused flatly.
This man had no regard for boundaries. If he wasn't going to cooperate, Mo Lin had no choice but to act.
"Chen Xi!" Mo Lin called coldly.
Chen Xi's figure appeared before Mo Lin, and she reached out to seize Yuan Hui.
Yuan Hui stepped back quickly, pulling out a copper coin to block her advance.
His move was effective against lesser ghosts, but it was useless against a Nightmare-grade ghost.
"Boom!"
The copper coin exploded mid-air, splitting into two pieces.
In the next instant, Chen Xi seized Yuan Hui.
At that moment, an enormous copper coin sword swung out, blocking Chen Xi's movement.
An elderly man with a white beard had intervened.
"Young man, having a Nightmare-grade ghost doesn't mean you can do whatever you please," the old man said coldly to Mo Lin.
The old man was no ordinary figure. He had easily blocked the Nightmare-grade ghost's attack.
"This doesn't concern you. Why do you feel the need to interfere?" Mo Lin asked, his tone cold.
"Young man, can't we talk this through? Why resort to violence?" the old man advised.
"No!" Mo Lin shot back, "My friend was nearly beaten to death. You want me to talk it over?"
The old man hesitated before responding, "Yuan Hui is from the Copper Coin Taoist Temple. Should I have him apologize?"
"Heh…" Mo Lin scoffed, "An apology? Do you think that's enough?"
"Should I beat Yuan Hui half to death and then have him apologize? Would that be acceptable to you?"
"Young man, Yuan Hui is a member of the Copper Coin Taoist Temple. Please show some respect," the old man said once again, emphasizing the power of the Copper Coin Taoist Temple.
Mo Lin, already furious at the mention of the Copper Coin Taoist Temple, was further provoked.
"The Copper Coin Taoist Temple is nothing!" Mo Lin snapped. "Stop yapping. If you think I'll let you walk away from Yun Chuan, you're mistaken. Do you believe I won't make that happen?"
Mo Lin stared, shocked, at Lin Xi.
He had not even spoken yet when Lin Xi had already jumped in. Her words, coming from her, felt strange.
With a small smirk, Lin Xi teased, "Mo Ge, what's with the surprise?"
Was it any wonder?
Mo Lin was taken aback. He never expected Lin Xi to speak like this!
"This is Yun Chuan. Why should we fear them?" Lin Xi said, explaining, "This is our place. They don't have the right to act as they please."
"We don't owe them any face if they don't show us respect."
It was the first time Mo Lin had seen such an overbearing side of Lin Xi.
It wasn't that she had become arrogant or was simply throwing a tantrum.
It was more that the Ghost Master Society never feared the Copper Coin Taoist Temple.
In certain circumstances, the Ghost Master Society had jurisdiction over the Copper Coin Taoist Temple.
Why use the term 'jurisdiction'?
Because the higher-ups did not allow the Copper Coin Taoist Temple or any other orthodox Taoist sect to employ Ghost Masters.
The powers of Er Fu San Jian forbade the cultivation of Ghost Masters within their ranks.
This was why the Ghost Master Society held authority over such matters.
If any of these sects secretly trained Ghost Masters, they were to be eliminated immediately.
This rule had existed for years.
No one knew why, but something must have happened in the past.
And anyway, this was Yun Chuan, not the North Sea.
Even if the Copper Coin Taoist Temple was strong, they had no right to act freely here.
A strong dragon cannot suppress a local snake.
