Chapter 57 - Chapter 55: Sengokus Hair Pulling Reports

In Dressrossa, things weren't much better than Whole Cake Island. While Sub-Zero and Scorpion had been far more subtle than the others, once they actually began their assault it quickly devolved into a one-sided slaughter. The trigger was when Scorpion saw what Sugar had done to some of the innocent citizens of Dressrossa. After that, he let loose and killed anyone who got in his way, then he decapitated Sugar. Shortly after, the citizens who had been turned into toys were set free. After that, he and Sub-Zero cut their way through the ranks of Doflamingo's subordinates, and when the smoke cleared only four remained: Violet and Baby 5, who surrendered peacefully, Pica, and Doflamingo himself.

Pica stood before the two ninjas. In his squeaky voice he declared, "You foolish invaders shall not pass me—the mighty Pica!" Then he charged at them, only to slip on a patch of ice that Sub-Zero had frozen beneath his feet.

Scorpion, arms crossed and voice dripping with dry amusement, chided, "Really, Sub-Zero? You could at least let the man die with dignity… that voice is punishment enough."

Sub-Zero calmly replied,"It's his own fault for not minding his surroundings. I will handle him. You go and handle Doflamingo."

Scorpion gave a curt nod, hellfire flickering at his fingertips. "Very well. I shall see you when it is over." In a flash of hellfire, he vanished.

Pica regained his footing, anger blazing in his eyes. "That's it. I'm not going to hold back against you, then." He whispered this line in a low, gritted voice.

Drawing on the power of the Stone-Stone Fruit, Pica molded the ground into a colossal golem shaped in his likeness that encased his body. With a mighty roar of determination, he attempted to smash Sub-Zero with it.

Sub-Zero leaped onto the golem's colossal fist and began sprinting up its stone arm, freezing it as he ran. When he reached the shoulder, he delivered a precise, bone-chilling punch to the frozen joint—the impact sent the entire arm snapping clean off.

Standing atop the dismembered golem's shattered shoulder, Sub-Zero surveyed the scene. Pica roared in rage, "Get off of me!" With a single fierce motion, Pica swung his remaining arm, attempting to smash the intruder.

Sub-Zero responded instantly—he leapt skyward, swift like the calm before a blizzard. Pica's punch rocketed upward… and crushed into his own stone body, obliterating it. A massive crater formed in Pica's armor.

Seizing the opening, Sub-Zero channeled torrents of ice through the fissure, freezing the interior of the stone armor. The enormous structure cracked, crumbled, and eventually collapsed.

When it was all done, only a frozen statue remained—the lifeless semblance of the real Pica. Sub-Zero stared impassively, then extended a glacial hand and shattered the statue into thousands of tiny fragments.

Silence.

Pica was dead.

Before long, Scorpion found Doflamingo lounging on a gaudy pink throne, laughing at him.

Scorpion said, "We've killed all your subordinates and you laugh."

Then Doflamingo replied, "You misunderstand me, scum. I laugh in anger, not amusement—and when I stand over your lifeless corpse, I shall laugh in joy." He unleashed his Conqueror's Haki on Scorpion, sure of his impending victory. He laughed harder, only to stop completely as a hot, piercing pain stabbed into his chest.

He looked down to see a rope dart embedded in his sternum.

Then the next thing he heard was Scorpion's chilling shout:

"GET OVER HERE!"

In the next moment, Doflamingo was yanked violently through the air toward Scorpion—only to be punched back into his throne. The impact obliterated the chair, and he landed in a crumpled heap.

He croaked, "What the hell? What are you…" as he spat blood.

Scorpion approached, voice low and thunderous: "I am a demon."

He removed his mask, revealing a flaming skull.

Doflamingo screamed—just before Scorpion unleashed a torrent of hellfire from his mouth, engulfing him and reducing him to ash.

Scorpion slid his mask back into place and walked off to rejoin Sub-Zero.

Meanwhile at marine headquarters

Sengoku sat at the head of the conference table, his visage solemn as he addressed the gathered Admirals.

"Over the last few days, we've received many troubling reports. First of all—in Arabasta, the Baroque Works has been completely destroyed, and Crocodile himself has been reported dead. Fortunately, the missing Princess Vivi has been found and returned safely to the palace… so that's good news at least."

A ripple of relief passed through the room.

Admiral Kuzan leaned back coolly, crossing his arms. "Do we know who's responsible?"

Sengoku shook his head, worry creasing his brow."No. Our only clue was that it was two young women. The locals didn't seem keen on sharing any details—they were likely trying to protect the women, seeing them as saviors or even heroes."

He cleared his throat and continued, voice dropping: "But moving on—our next report is even more troubling. Two unidentified individuals appeared on Dressrosa and annihilated Doflamingo and his subordinates. The individuals in question were men dressed as ninjas. That's all my report says. At this time, we have no reason to believe that they are related to the two women."

Admiral Kizaru, lounging in his trademark yellow suit with a laid-back expression, tilted his head slightly. "Hmm… ninjas, you say?"

"Next," Sengoku pressed on, "the strangest report: Whole Cake Island has been terrorized by two strange pink entities. No, I'm not kidding—they're pink, and we don't know what they are. But apparently, they were so terrifying that Big Mom herself surrendered to the Navy. She's currently being transported to Impel Down as we speak."

A hush fell over the room.

Admiral Akainu leaned forward and said. "So… we have an Emperor in custody, and we don't even know why."

Sengoku exhaled flatly. "No. We don't. The two alleged creatures had already disappeared. For all we know, there never were creatures to begin with—and Big Mom just snapped and destroyed the island herself while running from a hallucination."

Sengoku's face darkened as he glanced down at the next report. "Finally, we have been unable to do anything about the creature that swims the waters around Mary Geoise. Cannon fire does nothing. Blades do nothing. Devil Fruit powers—nothing. Even Haki does nothing. Garp has been attacking it for weeks, but even he can't harm it. The strangest part is, it doesn't attack Navy ships—only World Government vessels come under attack. And if we attempt to evacuate the island, it still doesn't attack—just lightly pushes our ships away." His gravelly voice conveyed his increasing anxiety.

"The Five Elders are furious. They keep saying they'll have our heads if we don't deal with this—but I don't see how we can. Most recently, Dr. Vegapunk came to examine the creature, and it made no move against him. It acted perfectly docile as he observed it. His conclusion is that the beast genuinely has something against the World Government—or more specifically, the Celestial Dragons."

Kuzan exhaled and nodded, his tone detached but firm: "They brought it on themselves. I say let the bastards rot."

Akainu calmly said."Agreed."

Sengoku was about to respond when suddenly, a Marine flung open the door and crashed in.

"Fleet Admiral—sir—an urgent report just came in!"

Sengoku snatched the report, scanning its contents. His face went ashen—and then he exploded out of his seat, shouting:

"What the hell?!"

Kizaru sat up, interest piqued. "What is it?"

Sengoku's voice thundered: "Someone attacked and destroyed almost all of the Beast Pirates—and is currently engaged in battle with Kaido. And according to the report—Kaido is losing."

For one charged, breathless moment, the room fell silent. Then, all at once, the Admirals roared in unison:

"WHAT?!"
