Eve's POV
The midday sun filtered through the hallways, casting long shadows that made the school feel eerily quiet. Most students were in class, and the teachers who weren't occupied were huddled together in the staff lounge, no doubt gossiping about their latest assignments or the oddities of the day. I didn't really care about any of that right now. I just needed to get to the bathroom I was kinder pressed.
But as I walked down the corridor, something stirred in my gut. A strange sensation prickled at the back of my neck. It was like I was being watched. My steps slowed, and I glanced over my shoulder, scanning the empty hallway. Nothing. No one.
I shook my head, telling myself I was being paranoid. After all, no one knew who I really was—not the students, not the staff. I was just a teacher in a disguise. But that feeling... it didn't go away. It was like a presence was lingering, just out of sight.
