Eve POV:
I thought things had reached a breaking point before, but today? Today, the tension was almost unbearable.
For the past two days, it felt like I couldn't get a moment to myself. Marcus and Drake were both pushing me in opposite directions, demanding my attention, my time, my feelings—each of them wanting me to choose, to somehow pick a side when I was still trying to figure out my own damn thoughts.
It was like a constant weight on my chest. Every time I tried to have a normal conversation with someone, I could feel Marcus's eyes on me. Whenever I glanced around, there Drake was, sitting too close, leaning in a little too much. They didn't even try to hide it. The whole school knew what was going on—hell, even Elizabeth had caught wind of it.
It was impossible to escape the tension.
