Her name tore from my throat like something being ripped out of me.
I didn't even feel the tears, I only saw her body hit the ground, limp, as Kyra stood over her in that monstrous new avatar.
My heart screamed louder than my mouth could.
My fists clenched as I felt my soul cracked.
Then…..
SMACK.
My face whipped sideways, and pain bloomed across my jaw.
Axel was standing in front of me. His hand was still outstretched. His eyes were cold as always.
"You see….?" he growled, leaning in. "That's why you'll forever be weak. Crying over a woman in the middle of battle?"
Before I could move, he slammed his boot into my chest.
Crack.
I gasped as blood flew out of my mouth voluntarily.
Then another stomp. My ribs howled.
He grabbed me by my collar and yanked me up so I was face to face with him.
