"I think these three Cursed Techniques would be perfect for me. Although I still haven't decided on one of them..."
Daenerys pointed at the three system screens in front of her, looking at Satoru, who continued holding her from behind, his head resting on her shoulder.
When she didn't hear a response, Daenerys furrowed her brow slightly, confused.
"Husband...?" Daenerys shook his arm gently, making Satoru open his eyes wide.
"Huh? Are we done already...?" Satoru rubbed his eyes and yawned, covering his mouth with one hand.
"You fell asleep...?" asked Daenerys, though she already knew the answer.
"You're taking too long, Dany. We've been at this for half the day..." murmured Satoru with a sigh, although his tone sounded more amused than annoyed.
Since becoming a Nephilim and gaining eternal life, he thought he had learned to be more patient about things. Time was always on his side… or so he thought.
But today he had realized that wasn't true at all!
Time might be on his side, yes… but that didn't mean patience was one of his virtues.
He had always made his selections almost instantly. But Daenerys… she had been thinking it over for half a day now.
Though, in her case, it made sense. Satoru knew the most powerful elements, knew which ones suited him. Daenerys had no idea about any of these worlds. She had to be careful, analyze everything before deciding.
And for that reason, he hadn't complained.
"I'm almost done. I just need you to help me make a decision. These are my three options."
Satoru rolled his eyes when he heard her.
Almost done? Was she serious? There were still the DC world and How to Train Your Dragon left!
And he knew Daenerys would take her time with that. Picking a proper dragon wouldn't be a quick decision for her. She loved them... there was no creature in the world that meant more to her.
Sighing in resignation, Satoru looked closely at the three cursed techniques on the screen.
Disaster Flames Technique, Blood Manipulation Technique, and Ice Formation Technique.
If he were in her place, he would've chosen Sukuna's Cursed Technique without a second thought. But it wasn't his decision. Daenerys had to pick something that suited her style and nature.
"If it were me, if I had to choose one of them, I'd go with the Ice Formation Technique. But that's just because I've always liked electricity and ice attacks more..." Satoru muttered, more to himself than to her.
"I don't think the Ice Formation Technique fits me that well..." Daenerys pursed her lips, trying to picture herself freezing her enemies.
She quickly shook her head. She didn't identify with that kind of power.
"Neither do I. I can't picture you using ice in battle." Satoru agreed with her.
In contrast, the other two techniques — Jogo's Disaster Flames or the Kamo Clan's Blood Manipulation — seemed more fitting.
After all, the Targaryen House motto was "Fire and Blood."
"Although I don't recommend the Blood Manipulation Technique, Dany." Satoru added, with a slightly more serious tone.
Daenerys raised an eyebrow, curious.
"The Blood Manipulation Technique allows you to control your own blood," he explained, reading the system description, "but what it doesn't say is that you're limited by the amount of blood you can use. Losing too much would be dangerous… even deadly."
"You'd have to have blood bags ready. Or coat weapons with your own blood in advance."
Daenerys pursed her lips, displeased by the idea of constantly extracting blood from herself.
"There's only one person who can use that technique without that drawback: Choso. He's half-curse and half-human, and can convert cursed energy into blood," Satoru finished explaining.
"But I'm not Choso," murmured Daenerys, letting out a small sigh. "So I'll go with the last option. I actually thought it was the best technique from the beginning."
Satoru rolled his eyes again.
So she had planned to choose the Disaster Flames Technique from the start...? Why had she asked for his opinion in the first place?
"Just imagining myself using fire to burn my enemies from atop Meleys excites me..." murmured Daenerys, a smile on her lips and a spark of excitement in her eyes.
The Disaster Flames Technique of the Special Grade Cursed Spirit, Jogo, granted powerful pyrokinesis abilities.
It allowed the user to create and manipulate both flames and lava with devastating power. Unlike many other offensive techniques, its range wasn't limited to close combat: the user could summon fire and lava at a distance, and even make it appear telepathically directly above a target or in its immediate proximity.
The flames generated by this technique were immensely powerful, capable of reducing everything they touched to ash. Furthermore, they were visible even to those who did not possess Cursed Energy.
As a climax, the user also gained the ability to telepathically create volcanoes on any surface. These volcanoes expelled scalding lava at high pressure, enabling unpredictable and nearly unblockable area attacks.
Daenerys didn't hesitate any longer and selected the Cursed Technique she had chosen.
"Now there are only two worlds left and we'll be done!" she exclaimed, excited.
Once they finished, Daenerys would have become such an overwhelming force that she could destroy her own world if she wished.
Satoru watched her in silence, with a slight smile.
"I think this system is too powerful..." he thought to himself.
It wasn't a complaint, just a simple observation.
"Just hurry up, please..." murmured Satoru, watching as Daenerys opened a new screen in the system.
"Don't worry, husband. Actually, while you were sleeping, I already chose what I want from one of the two remaining worlds." Daenerys tapped his chin lightly with her index finger, her mischievous smile reflecting how much she enjoyed his impatience.
Satoru clicked his tongue softly, unable to hold back a smile at her teasing, as he watched her begin browsing the list of elements from the DC Universe.
"I want this." Daenerys pointed at the system screen.
Satoru pursed his lips slightly, not entirely convinced, though willing to respect her choice.
"I was thinking of something balanced, that combined power, versatility, and freedom… and I found the Power Ring from the Green Lantern Corps."
Satoru knew the Green Lantern Corps well, led by the Guardians of the Universe. An intergalactic force charged with maintaining peace and order, formed by individuals capable of channeling willpower in its purest form.
"With this Power Ring, fueled by willpower, you can create anything you imagine. But the best part is that you can go to any planet, dimension, or galaxy, and communicate with any species!" Daenerys read the description enthusiastically, captivated by the possibility of traveling through the cosmos and understanding those who lived there.
Satoru wondered if Daenerys had the world they'd be traveling to in mind when she chose the Power Ring — the one he had told her about. A world in which space and the unknown would be their new home. Maybe that's why she picked the ring.
But the truth was that Daenerys had only scratched the surface of the Power Ring's capabilities.
In addition to allowing her to create solid constructs of energy and offering universal translation, the ring could scan any object or being, analyze structures, atmospheres, even track energy signatures, identify weaknesses, or read DNA. It could follow signals across galaxies, find other ring bearers, and even access the Green Lantern Corps database, which contained galactic history, combat strategies, criminal profiles, and a wealth of knowledge accumulated over millennia. It was, essentially, a living library she could always rely on.
Satoru knew that last part would probably be Daenerys's favorite. Her natural curiosity for the unknown, for cultures, languages, and knowledge, fit perfectly with that unlimited access to information.
"It says here that while using the ring, you don't need to eat, breathe, or sleep..." murmured Daenerys, frowning slightly.
Even Satoru grimaced.
"Knowing you, you'll suffer a lot with that," he said with an amused smile. "You love eating and sleeping too much."
Daenerys wasn't offended. Instead, she smiled. She agreed.
There was no point in denying the truth when it was laid bare.
"As for my other choice..." Daenerys smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I want to pick the biggest and most powerful dragon of all!"
Satoru let out a small laugh, infected by her enthusiasm.
"Let me show you one..."
[Author's note: Do you think Daenerys made the right choices? What would you have done in her place?]
