Chap 30 Final battle with limaxs 1

The old Marty replied as he and the other two aliens finally turned into their true form. Their human body, or rather what looked like it, rippled, rapidly contorting and shifting, transforming into an inhuman monster in the blink of an eye.

They had a sharp row of jagged teeth, clusters of red eyeballs sprouting across their head, and a long esophageal tube running down from their mouth to their stomach, merging into a single organ that seemed to be both stomach and intestine.

The alien monsters' advance made the tennysons retreat instinctively. They weren't truly frightened—just caught off guard by the sudden reveal. Seeing such disgusting, monster-like beings at such close range was enough to make anyone step back.

In addition to these shapeshifters, several more aliens appeared during the conversation and joined their companions. The alien army was rushing toward this location from all directions!

"Rio, your watch..." Gwen looked at Rio beside her with concern.

"Not enough time."

Rio glanced down at his wrist. The Omnitrix had changed from glowing yellow to glowing red but it was still in its charging state.

He had an idea. Looking up at the group of aliens, he pulled out his two small "bombs" from his pocket and hurled it at the shapeshifters.

Whoosh!

The two small balls flew toward the aliens in a perfect arc!

"Now! Run to the ship!" Rio quickly lowered his voice and said urgently to the three people beside him, and sprinted directly toward the spaceship entrance!

On the opposite side.

Two seconds passed. As the aliens stared at the small balls thrown by their soon to be lunch.

Then—

With two "boom boom" sounds, they burst open, a burst of white light flashed forth.

Two small blasts tore through the air and because the aliens were packed tightly together in a small area the blast sent the front line aliens flying.

But the Limax didn't stay down long, they were more resilient than they looked.

They shook off the aftermath of the blast, quickly recovering.

Rage soon filled the group of alien slimes.

They'd been fooled!

worse yet, it was a human child that tricked them!

It made them absolutely livid!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

One after another, the shapeshifters launched themselves forward, chasing after Rio and his family!

The group heard the thunderous footsteps behind them and all their expressions tightened. The delay hadn't bought them much time, only those precious few seconds!

Rio scanned the surroundings, his expression growing grave.

"I'll distract them while you find a way to rescue as many people as possible!"

He showed his omnitrix, clearly meaning that he has the means to survive.

"Rio, you... be careful!" Max looked at the determination in Rio's eyes. He opened his mouth, wanting to say more, but there was no time.

all that came out were words of caution. He understood there was only one option left!

"If any alien comes towards you, attack it with the water guns!"

With that sentence Rio didn't hesitate, and rushed away from the group, heading toward the far side of the cavern to draw the aliens away.

He breathed to maintain his composure. The more dangerous the situation, the calmer he needed to be!

"Over here, you ugly blobs!"

The eyes of every single alien immediately locked onto Rio, all of them gnashing their teeth in fury!

"KILL HIM!"

It worked. The horde ignored Max, Ben, and Gwen. They wanted Rio.

More than a dozen shapeshifters charged forward, with more constantly pouring in from the cave passage. All of them accelerated toward Rio as if they were a pack of rabid wolves pursuing their prey!

The scene was absolute chaos!

At the moment both Gwen and Ben felt the helplessness that came with being ordinary human children!

Just like during the last Vilgax robot attack, it had been Rio who risked his life to draw the enemy's attention!

They could do nothing, only pray in their hearts.

They quickened their pace, rushing through the open spaceship entrance and into the hall!

The lights inside the hall were quite bright, illuminating everything clearly! Countless special pods lined the walls, and inside each one lay a person, suspended in green fluid—including their Aunt Vera!

"Ssssss!!"

Before they could even catch their breath, a chilling hiss echoed from the entryway they had just passed.

Max, Ben, and Gwen spun around.

Three Limax shapeshifters had slipped past Rio's distraction outside and followed them in, blocking the exit.

"You guys just don't know when to quit, do you?" Ben shouted, though his voice wavered slightly.

"Don't disturb their marination!" one alien screeched. Seeing the humans trying to steal their food, it leaped into the air towards them.

"Eat this!" Ben yelled, raising his bright orange water gun and squeezing the trigger.

SPLAT!

A stream of water arched through the air and hit the airborne alien mid-leap, striking its head.

"It works! It really works!" Ben cheered, his confidence sky-rocketing.

HISSSSS!!

The area in contact with water dissolved as the alien hit the floor, instantly screaming in agony.

The terrifying scene forced the swiftly pouncing aliens to halt in their tracks.

They hesitated because the kid in front of them had a strange device which could shoot "acid" that melted them!

SCRRCCHHH!!

But seeing their companion in such agony, the other aliens couldn't contain their anger, letting out a menacing screech.

"Less talking, more shooting!" Gwen stepped up beside him, firing her own stream of water at the second alien trying to flank them.

The water splashed against the creature's chest, burning a hole straight through its slime-like torso. Terrified by the "chemical weapons" these human children possessed, the three aliens shrieked and scrambled backward, retreating out of the hallway to regroup.

Breathing heavily, Gwen lowered her plastic weapon. Her hands were shaking, but she felt a surge of relief. Rio's plan had actually saved them.

"Then... what should we do now?" Gwen moved closer to Max instinctively and asked in a hushed voice, eyeing the door in case more came back.

"..."

Looking through the entrance at the chaos outside, Max took a deep breath. His eyes scanned the rows of silent, sleeping hostages.

"Rio is buying us time, but it won't last forever," Max said, his voice grim and authoritative. "We can't fight an entire army, and we can't disable the ship."

He walked over to the nearest pod and gripped it.

"We have to get these people off this ship. If it takes off, they're gone. Start moving the pods to the entrance. Now!"

----

As Rio ran, he glanced down at the Omnitrix, it was still in its charging state, but the red light had grown significantly weaker, as if it would convert to blue and become available at any moment!

Just need to stall a little longer!

Rio encouraged himself mentally as he tilted his head to look behind him, his eyes widened in shock.

Dozens of shapeshifters pursued him through the underground passage, and their numbers were growing denser with each passing second.

The sight was terrifying, an entire horde of alien creatures stretching their limbs to close the gap at an astonishing pace, hunting him down with murderous intent!

He glanced in every other direction!

Whether to the left, right, or even climbing along the walls, there was nowhere to go. The shapeshifters flanked him from all sides, converging on his position.

There was no way out, no escape route visible through the tightening net of alien bodies!

Rio had only one option: keep running forward, maintain his momentum, and never stop moving!

"Don't let him escape!!"

A limax crawling along the right wall looked onto Rio sprinting below. It released a guttural growl and launched itself through the air, aiming to pin him down.

The creature's shadow fell across Rio's path, nearly covering his entire body as it descended!

BOOM!!

At the last possible moment, Rio dove forward, hitting the soft soil hard, the impact didn't cause him much pain, just enough to knock the wind from his lungs!

The alien heavily crashed onto the ground where he had been a second ago.

WHOOSH!!

The fallen alien's arm shot out like a grappling hook, stretching more than a meter in length. Its grotesque fingers wrapped around Rio's ankle.

"Got you!" the alien hissed, its eyes blazed with feral intensity as one hand locked onto its prey like an iron shackle, refusing to release its grip!

Rio kicked, dragging his leg, but the alien creature refused to let go, its grip was like iron

Instead, it crawled forward step by step, sticking to the ground like a gecko as it closed the distance between them!

The murderous aura radiating from the creature was utterly indescribable!

Beep!

Rio's leg wouldn't pull free no matter how hard he tried. He could only watch helplessly as the shapeshifter approached with agonizing slowness. At that critical moment, the Omnitrix emitted a distinctive sound!

The sound was small, but to Rio, it was the most beautiful sound in the world.

Rio hurriedly looked down at his wrist, opened the Omnitrix's interface, and without the slightest hesitation, switched directly from Heatblast's silhouette to another alien hero. The holographic display twisted and changed as he selected his transformation.

WHOOSH!!
