Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Data x Departure

"Boss, that's Immenah Corporation's Antibiotic Industrial Research Institute ahead."

"An employee card is required for entry."

Ikshampé's voice sounded. As Illumi walked towards the gate ahead, he glanced at the ID badge on his chest.

"Grellet Baghdadi, Level 3 personnel."

Illumi frowned slightly, looking at the gate ahead. This indicated that the person he had transformed into had a very low access level.

But it didn't matter. As long as he could enter the research institute, he would adapt as needed.

He passed two teams of guards along the way. They only glanced at him and didn't step forward to inspect.

"Beep!"

When Illumi reached the gate, he held up the card and swiped it over the electromagnetic lock. A green light flashed, and the gate "clicked" open automatically.

After he entered, the gate automatically closed again.

"Tap... tap..."

Illumi's clear footsteps echoed in the brightly lit corridor. He walked twenty meters, turned right, walked another ten meters forward, then turned left.

"I need a bit of..."

"Could you give this data to..."

"This application form..."

Illumi stopped at the corner. The corridor, which had been quiet a moment ago, immediately became noisy. Busy figures were everywhere, all wearing pure white uniforms.

Illumi walked lightly, brushing past others. His gaze scanned the people; there were Level 3 personnel, and also Level 4 and 5 personnel.

He followed the locked emotional trail to an elevator. The elevator had the same electromagnetic lock as the research institute's main gate. Illumi picked up his employee card.

"Hey, Grellet."

Just as he was about to swipe the card, a voice made his hand movements pause. He turned to look back. Not far behind him stood a man with messy hair, looking at him with a smile playing on his lips.

"You're not thinking of going to the next floor, are you?"

"Don't even think about it. For you, maybe after ten more years."

"Boss, his employee level is Level 7."

Illumi heard Ikshampé's voice and focused his gaze on the man's chest. His employee card read Level 7: Sanel Ainsworth, four levels higher than his current employee level.

Illumi's lips curled. Since a Level 3 personnel couldn't enter the next floor, he would try with a Level 7.

"Sanel, I have something I want to chat with you about."

Illumi stepped towards the messy-haired Sanel. The other party frowned, displeased.

"Hey, you can't just call me by my name."

Illumi walked over, putting his arm around Sanel's shoulder, feigning familiarity, and chuckled.

"What does it matter? I have something. Let's go to your office and chat."

Sanel struggled to break free from Illumi's arm-in-arm grip, looking at him suspiciously.

"Did you take some kind of drug? Are you crazy?"

But Sanel still led Illumi to his office, pushing the door open with a "click."

Illumi looked up at the surveillance cameras in the office, then turned his gaze to Sanel.

"I'll leave the surveillance to you."

"No problem."

Ikshampé replied.

Sanel sat comfortably in his chair, about to ask a question, when his vision suddenly went dark.

"Thud!"

Sanel's body jolted, losing consciousness.

Illumi, with lightning speed, covered his eyes and dragged him to a blind spot in the surveillance. He instantly stunned him and laid him on the ground. While taking off the other party's ID badge, he transformed himself into Sanel's appearance.

Illumi, now in Sanel's form, rose and looked around. The office had a glass door, allowing visibility from the outside. Confirming that no one had noticed anything unusual, Illumi put on the ID badge and walked out of the office, heading towards the previous elevator.

"Beep!"

The ID badge swiped over the electromagnetic lock. A green light flashed, and the elevator door automatically opened.

Illumi scanned the inside of the elevator, confirmed nothing unusual, stepped in, and the elevator door immediately closed automatically.

There were four buttons on the elevator: A, B, C, D from top to bottom.

"Insufficient permission."

Illumi tentatively pressed the A button. An electronic synthesized voice immediately sounded in the elevator. He had no choice but to press C.

"Buzz..."

Upon pressing the button, the elevator started. Illumi felt a sense of weightlessness, and his ears buzzed loudly. This was a high-speed elevator.

"Ding!"

In less than three seconds, the elevator stopped, and the elevator door opened.

"In other words, the first underground floor is at least fifteen meters from the surface."

Illumi surmised in his mind. Stepping out of the elevator, compared to the surface's D-level, the C-level clearly had significantly fewer people.

He wandered around the office corridor, locking his gaze on a Level 10 personnel. He followed him, and the two almost simultaneously entered a surveillance blind spot.

Illumi instantly appeared behind him, delivering a "thud" with a hand chop to his nape. He took off his ID badge and laid his body down in the blind spot on the floor.

He lightly flicked the ID badge in his hand, went to the elevator, entered Level B, repeated the trick on Level B, and then entered Level A.

The elevator door opened. Illumi stepped out. Someone noticed his arrival, glanced casually, and then continued working.

"Boss, this is where Immenah Corporation researches new antibiotics."

Ikshampé's voice sounded. Illumi looked at the spacious and brightly lit area before him. There was only one research lab on Level A, and that was the laboratory specifically responsible for researching and developing the new antibiotic, Illumina-a.

Illumi's gaze followed a deep blue trail of emotional smoke, finally settling on a researcher in a protective suit. The person was currently sitting in front of a microscope, observing something.

"Ikshampé, surveillance, three minutes."

"Received."

As soon as Ikshampé's voice fell, a large amount of shadow "swished" out from under Illumi's feet, instantly covering the walls of the entire laboratory, blocking all light.

"Ah, what's going on!?"

"Why is the lab dark?"

"Is the system malfunctioning?"

"No, if the system malfunctions, it automatically switches to the secondary computer system for normal power supply!"

The interior of the room was suddenly pitch black. Other than the light emitted by the working instruments, there was no light at all.

The researchers in the laboratory were initially a little panicked, but soon calmed down. This was because some of them had already notified the company, and the company had clearly responded that they would immediately arrange for people to come for inspection and repair.

"Helene Stuart."

Helene, after an initial moment of panic, continued to focus on her microscope. But suddenly, a deep, unfamiliar voice sounded in her ear.

"Who?"

Helene immediately looked up towards the source of the voice, but it was pitch black all around. She could only barely see a black shadow standing in front of him.

"Take your technical data and research results, and leave here with me."

The black shadow stepped forward again. With the faint light from the instruments, Helene clearly saw the black shadow's "true identity."

"Geik!"

Helene uttered the black shadow's name, her voice filled with surprise. She didn't understand why this colleague would say such a thing.

"I am not Geik, but I want you to take all your technical data and research results and come with me, otherwise..."

Illumi's cold voice entered Helene's ears. Her body suddenly trembled. A wisp of black shadow invaded his protective suit, crawling along her skin and up her face.

"Swish!"

The black shadow covered half of the transparent mask on her face. A scarlet eye appeared on the mask, emanating killing intent and fear.

"Otherwise, this place will instantly turn into a living hell."

"Helene Stuart, think carefully for your colleagues and family."

"You, what are you saying... technical data?"

Helene felt the cold, twisting touch on her neck skin, and her voice trembled as she spoke.

"Don't play dumb with me. The technical data and research results for the new antibiotic, Illumina-a."

"The new antibiotic... hasn't... hasn't been researched yet."

"Then take all the research data and materials with you."

"Yes..."

Helene stiffly nodded, and with a "whoosh," she stood up from her chair and groped her way towards the depths of the laboratory. She was going to get the research data.

What she didn't notice was that as she stood up, due to her large movement, a glass specimen bottle wobbled a few times, fell onto the tabletop, and slowly rolled into a dark corner.

"Hmm?"

Illumi noticed it. The strongest shield covered his arm, and he picked it up.

"This must be what she was researching just now."

Illumi held it in his hand and followed the emotional smoke to Helene's office.

"What's going on? The elevator won't open?"

Three researchers were standing in front of the elevator at this time, their employee cards continuously sliding across the electromagnetic lock. However, the electromagnetic lock was covered by Illumi's shadow and couldn't be detected.

"Don't try to deceive me. If I find even the slightest oversight on your part..."

"Your friends and colleagues will pay for your cleverness."

Helene's throat gulped. Her heart filled with terror. She sped up her data organization, packing all the data into a silver-white box.

"Wait a moment."

As Helene was about to close the box, Illumi placed a specimen bottle inside. Helene's heart jolted in surprise. How did he know what this was?

"Let's go."

Regardless of Helene's surprise, Illumi led the way, and Helene, filled with fear, could only follow him single-mindedly.

"Beep!"

The shadows covering the electromagnetic lock and the elevator dissipated. Illumi swiped his employee card, and the elevator door opened.

"Whoosh!"

After Illumi and Helene entered the elevator, the shadows covering the laboratory walls instantly retracted. The laboratory immediately became bright again.

"Huh, the power's back?"

"It must be that the company's maintenance department has fixed the power supply system's malfunction."

"Where's the supervisor?"

The suddenly restored bright light caused discomfort to the people in the laboratory. They shielded their faces with their arms, squinting their eyes to adjust to the light.

On the table where the microscope was, a small specimen bottle made a soft "pop" sound, fell to the ground, and rolled into a dark corner.

On Level D, Illumi and Helene walked out of the elevator together, heading towards the research institute's exit.

"I don't know who you are."

"But you can't leave like this. Immenah Corporation's researchers are not allowed to take anything out or bring anything in."

Helene followed behind Illumi, reminding him in a low, fearful voice.

"You don't need to worry about that. I'll handle it easily."

Illumi remained in the guise of a researcher. He reached the research institute's main gate, and the gate "clicked" open.

"Stop."

As the gate opened, Illumi and Helene appeared before the guards. Seeing the silver-white briefcase in Helene's hand, a guard sharply ordered.

"Put down the box in your hand."

The two teams of guards at the entrance simultaneously raised their assault rifles, aiming at Illumi and Helene. Helene nervously put down the box.

The person who spoke first seemed to be the captain. He waved his hand, signaling a guard to go inspect the box Helene had placed on the ground.

"Swish!"

The moment that guard approached Illumi, a large amount of shadow erupted from under his feet, streaking across the ground with lightning speed towards the ten guards present.

"Pffft... pffft pffft..."

Ten sounds of flesh being pierced echoed one after another. The shadow-formed spikes instantly pierced their throats before the guards could even react.

At the same time, more black spikes suddenly attacked the twenty guards patrolling not far away from the ground.

Without any resistance or sound, the thirty guards protecting the entrance of the Antibiotic Industrial Research Institute were all killed simultaneously, slowly falling to the ground.

Helene covered her mouth, her face filled with terror as she stared at everything, her eyes fixed on Illumi with fear.

"Don't worry, you're not like them."

"You are a talent, and I need talent."

Illumi turned to look at Helene behind him, then shifted his gaze to the silver-white briefcase on the ground.

Helene followed his gaze, hurriedly bent down and picked up the box, clutching it to her chest with a terrified expression.

"Hold it tight. What's inside concerns your future."

Illumi chuckled softly, then led Helene past the bodies of the guards, all the way to the industrial park's parking lot. He casually chose a car and drove towards the main gate of the Immenah Industrial Park.

The security personnel in the security office saw that they were company employees and allowed the two to pass.

Thus, from entering the Immenah headquarters to leaving through the main gate, Illumi took a total of eight minutes and thirty-six seconds.

"WOWO~ Night Wind~"

One minute after Illumi left the industrial park, the security guard who first greeted Illumi turned a corner, humming a song.

"This, this is..."

His singing suddenly stopped. The security guard, holding a patrol baton, stared at the thirty dead guards ahead, his legs turning to jelly. He pressed the walkie-talkie at his waist, his voice trembling.

"Dead, dead people~!!"

"You're not Geik, who exactly are you?"

"Are you from the Amy Gene Company?"

On the way to Grol City, Helene finally regained some composure. She looked at Illumi, who was driving, and asked.

"No, you've guessed wrong."

Illumi's body shimmered with white light, transforming into the appearance of a twenty-four-year-old youth, and he chuckled.

"I'm from Umbrella BioTech Corporation."

Helene stared at Illumi, who had changed into another appearance, and covered her mouth with both hands, expressing surprise.

"You're the person from the airship!"

"So you've been watching me since then."

Helene saw Illumi's face in the rearview mirror and remembered the young man who was drinking alone in the airship's bar. So, from that time, she had already been targeted.

"Meeting you was just a coincidence."

"Of course, infiltrating the research institute was not a coincidence."

"Now, I'm taking you to a place. A place where it's very likely all your future research will be conducted."
