After packing his luggage, Xiaofan called out towards Ye Aotian's room, receiving only a simple response in return.
No extra words were exchanged, but for this grandfather and grandson, certain things didn't need to be explicitly stated.
Ye Aotian was, of course, worried about his grandson, but kids are meant to grow up and spread their wings. No matter how harsh and demanding the road ahead, Xiaofan would have to make his own efforts.
Xiaofan, on the other hand, was feeling the difficulty of parting from family. This time leaving, he didn't know when he could return to see this old man again. Alone, he felt quite solitary. Every year during the New Year, only his parents would visit, and during other times, his uncles would just call occasionally.
The old man was already in his twilight years, so there wasn't much time left. He should at least be allowed to hold a great-grandchild, if, that is, he himself is still alive.
