Chapter 70 - Chapter 42 Sir, this way!

The injured one is Bald Head Jubei, the first person Nozawa encountered after his misfortune landed him in the Japan Middle Ages.

This guy, having gone into the mountains many times, finally met his match. He was digging for wild vegetables when he saw a brightly feathered large bird. He got excited, thinking he might score an unexpected windfall, and stealthily shot an arrow at the bird. The bird, wounded, fled, and he began a wild chase. After losing the bird several times, he never caught it, but instead, he rolled down a steep slope, ending up with his body covered in wounds and blood.

Luckily, he was somewhat seasoned and curled his body as he fell, so most of the injuries were scrapes and bruises. The most serious was a broken leg.

Of course, this is by modern standards. In ancient times, without anti-inflammatory drugs—an idea that only emerged in 1940—by 1551, there was still a significant chance an infected wound could take his life.
