A single remark about low water temperature limiting appetite made Zhang Yang's mind light up instantly.
Is it possible? It's very likely!
Zhang Yang had such concerns while making the bait, which is why the two of them together used only about one pound of aged corn for the new bait piles.
That's half a pound of bait per pile, which is very little for fishing big fish; if the weather were warmer, this amount wouldn't be enough for even one fish.
But now, with the low water temperature, the fish are less active and can't eat that much bait, significantly reducing their chance of taking the hook.
"I'll try a new trick!" Zhang Yang once again pulled the fishing rig from the water and rummaged through the fishing box.
Within seconds, Zhang Yang had an ordinary wood-grain spool in hand, snipped a little piece off with scissors, and attached it to the hook shank, then re-baited the hook with aged corn on the tip.
