The chaotic shouts still echoed in the ears.

As Lannes charged, he could only hear the subtle hum of the wind blowing past his helmet.

The war horses from the vast grasslands were all robust, their hooves kicked up mud that flew two or three meters away.

Since they only wore three-quarters thin iron armor and no horse armor, Lannes and his men were much faster than those in heavy armor.

The cavalry advanced between slowly converging infantry phalanxes on both sides, as if passing through two solid walls pressing towards the center.

Through the eye slit of his beak helmet, Lannes saw seventy or eighty shield wagons in three rows.

About three or four of them had holes blasted in them by cannonballs, overturned on the ground.

Behind the rocks and shield wagons, guards climbed up, still looking around cautiously in fear.

The armored soldiers struck at the crouching guards with their heads in their hands using their scabbards, "Still squatting, they're here to kill you, run, now."
