The gloom and resentment in Jonard's heart vanished like smoke; being defeated by the Terminator, and especially unknowingly, he could accept it.
He firmly believed that if he had known Ye Fan's true identity earlier, perhaps he wouldn't have faced such a crushing defeat.
But he didn't want to dwell on what had already happened.
Now, the only thing on his mind was to compete with Ye Fan; he must admit he can't beat Ye Fan, but he can compete in other ways. He chose to flee, just to see if Ye Fan had the ability to kill him.
As this thought surged up from the bottom of his heart, Jonard felt a sliver of exhilaration, like a beggar having the opportunity to compete with a respectable person; the abnormal thrill of victory was overwhelmingly intense.
