Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Mouse Camp

In the midst of the forest.

There's a camp, surrounded by trees that have been cut down, using branches, wooden planks, leaves, and some trash to build some shabby wooden huts.

There are also some dug-out holes around.

One upright rat after another walks back and forth in the camp.

Next to a big tree hangs a wooden cage, inside which are a rat and a little girl.

A big rat came running rapidly from the outside.

"Boss, there's a human thing, the human thing saw me!"

"Human! Human! They've invaded!"

"Run, let's run quickly."

"Shut up, shut up!"

A ratman noticeably larger than the others squealed sharply.

As his words fell, the other ratmen quieted down.

"One? Just one?"

"Yes, yes, boss!"

"Haha, kill it, eat its meat, delicious, delicious!" the big rat said loudly.

The other rats instantly cheered.

Jumping and shouting shrilly.

"Human meat, human meat!"

"Delicious, delicious, yes! yes!"

In an instant, the ratman who had just come to report grabbed a few more ratmen and ran out, holding weapons, extremely excited.

There were still some rats that wanted to follow them.

"Enough, enough! The rest, come back!"

The boiling rat camp made the little girl in the cage even more terrified, she covered her mouth, holding back her cries.

The rat beside her comforted, saying: "Don't worry, it must be your clansmen coming to rescue you, then Bobo can also be saved."

But the little girl was clearly not comforted, curling up in a corner of the cage.

"Hey, why are you like this? Bobo is different from them."

"Bobo is much more civilized than these bastards, and much smarter too."

The big rat that had just been shouting was obviously the leader in the camp.

He turned his head and shouted loudly at Bobo hanging in the cage: "Shut up, white rat, or I'll bite your neck off."

"Ha? Then come, you idiotic fool who can't even speak properly, if you have the guts, just bite Bobo to death!"

Saying this, the rat named Bobo yelled and waved in the cage.

Watching him so eager, it seemed like he couldn't wait to die sooner.

"Come on, you fool, look at your tail, and your torn ear.

So ugly!"

The rat leader was clearly very angry, but helpless too, so he covered his ears and walked away.

The white rat, seeing him ignoring himself, began to curse at the other rats.

...

On the other side.

A few people who had just entered the forest spread out, holding their weapons cautiously moving forward.

"There's a sound."

George quickly said.

The group listened with their ears, indeed hearing the rustling of leaves.

A few ratmen, for some reason, rushed out eagerly, directly bumping into Blake who was walking at the front.

They froze on the spot for a moment.

"It's humans! It's humans!"

"Iron humans, run, iron humans are here!"

"Not food, run! Run!"

The rats that directly collided with Blake seemed to have poor vision, and after discovering he was in full body armor, they were instantly frightened.

Screaming shrilly trying to escape.

"What are you dazing for? Go up!"

Kana shouted from behind.

"Don't let a single one escape, run out and encircle them!"

As Kana said this, he gave Alyris a pat.

Alyris instantly understood, ran up from the side, directly running to the back of those rats.

With Kana's reminder, they first noticed and recognized the shouting big ratman.

Meanwhile, Blake had already raised his sword and killed one.

Looking at the rat chopped in half with a single swing.

Blake confirmed that these rats were really weak.

A few steps rushed up.

These rats were very agile, but started to scatter chaotically when they found their retreat blocked.

Fortunately, they were spread out widely.

George bent his bow, an arrow hitting a rat running amok.

This arrow even pierced through the rat's torso.

"There's one over there that's going to escape!"

A soldier yelled, his long spear did not hit as the rats were darting too fast.

That rat was over by George.

He quickly drew his bow, but the arrow landed in front of the rat.

Frightening it into quickly changing direction.

"Give that to me."

Kana directly snatched the bow from George's hand, took an arrow from his quiver.

Aimed in the direction where the rat was.

The arrow streaked through the air.

Accurately hitting the rat's head, pinning it to the ground on the spot.

The last rat was taken out.

Only then did Kana hand the bow back to George: "Not bad shooting, but you still need more practice."

George dumbly took the bow, looking at the rat shot in the distance.

Only those who truly shot arrows understood how challenging it was to bend the bow swiftly and hit a target in the forest, especially such an Agile target in the head.

He also didn't expect the man's archery to be so good.

Watching Kana, wanting to compliment him, after restraining himself for a long time, he managed to muster: "Sir, amazing."

Kana smiled, without speaking.

Thinking to himself, if it was an Elf Bow, I could be even better.

Playing Hunter Ranger, you have to play as an Elf to experience a few levels higher.

Blake and Alyris came alongside Kana, and the few soldiers dragged over the rat corpses.

Everyone present was observing the rat bodies.

"Really looks like upright rats."

"Big rats, and they really can talk."

Sharp-eared Rat People, just like their name, had pointy ears.

Covered entirely in black fur, the difference only being the depth of the black.

Kana nudged the rat bodies with his leg.

Yet, he didn't find any markings on their tails.

The Sharp-eared Rat People are divided into clans and usually have clan marks carved on their tails.

But these rats didn't, very rare indeed.

Could it be they're clanless?

"Why would they suddenly rush over, then get scared and scatter?" Blake was a bit confused.

When he saw the rats charging towards him, he thought they were going to besiege him, wanting to solve one first.

But as soon as the rats got close, they panicked, shouting and ran away.

"Their vision isn't very good, timid and impulsive. It's likely that the rat that saw George earlier went back to report, brought some rats to catch and eat George," Kana casually explained.

"Eat, eat?!" George's voice rose two pitch, very surprised.

The other soldiers were also surprised; do these rats actually eat humans?

"What are you all wondering about? Otherwise why would they kidnap that child, is it to take back and raise?"

George swallowed hard; he didn't expect the rats to be so savage, though their strength was quite weak.

He felt that even he, wielding a knife, could go up and kill one or two.

In front of them were only five rat corpses total.

Blake killed two, Alyris caught one from behind.

George shot one with an arrow, and he shot one himself.

None of the four soldiers hit, but that couldn't be helped; Kana could understand.

Kana watched as Alyris kicked the rat she had caught flying.

Narrowing his eyes, he stepped on its tail.

However, the rat played dead, motionless.

"You're quite enduring."

Saying that, he pressed hard, even twisting twice.

That rat couldn't take the pain, opened its eyes and shouted: "It's killing me! It's killing me! Let go, spare me!"

Kana slightly loosened his leg.

"Now, I ask you answer, or I'll skin you."
