Surrounding sounds began to crackle like spreading fissures, and the originally black objects around them began to rise from the ground.
These black objects weren't dirt, but corpses burned into charred and desiccated mummies.
Among these charred mummies, some were as large as centaurs, evidently human-horse warriors who perished in the relic during its last eruption.
Their bodies, blackened and burned, could not hide the black flames igniting from the cracks upon them, and their eyes glowed like lanterns.
