Laine held the Goddess of Revenge, approaching the Red Duke on the open field.
The Red Duke's appearance was wretched; half of his face had been completely destroyed, leaving nothing but charred blisters and festering wounds. The remaining half was hidden inside his helmet, revealing only a pair of crazed blood-red eyes.
"For hundreds of years, you have brought pain to the citizens of this nation." The white flames of the Goddess of Revenge blazed with a pale blue glow as Laine approached with the sword.
"You cannot understand my resentment, you cannot understand my mission. I want to destroy this kingdom, just as they did to me back then." The Red Duke's entire body was on fire; he struggled to get up, but his body wouldn't obey.
