"It's true that you are finally back after running away?" I asked, glaring at her.
It's already been two days of searching, yet, no one has a clue about her whereabouts or where she had been all this while.
And now, I just got a call that she's been seen around the mansion. My eyes never stopped taking in those stares as they fixed on mine.
"I never ran away. I'm innocent, and thank God someone out there believed me and fought for my release, unlike you all," she shot back, her gaze glaring at her mum and me.
Something about that confidence sent a crack through my heart, and I moved closer, my gaze blazing.
"So you've got the nerves to speak back, right?"
"What's there not to talk about? It's obvious I was never welcomed by any one of you, so I owe no one any explanation," she blurted out, but more than ever, the guts she had stirred something in me.
