Chapter 13 - Scared of Me

"Sure, sure, baby." The boyfriend laughed and looked at his second. "Find a bottle. This guy wanted to fuck. Let's give him what he wants."

Eugene's eyes widened. The fear gave him an inch of strength to move and beg again. "Please don't! I won't show my face to your girlfriend anymore! I'll avoid her! Please don't do that! Aren't you guys Psi Saint Alpha? You're supposed to be the good guys!"

The seniors laughed, and the third grabbed Eugene's head by the hair. He picked Eugene up to a sitting position. "Are you serious? You want us to pity your stupid ass? You think Psi Saint Alpha will care? They will even erase you if you go to the police. You should have just kept your hands to yourself. Dude, where's our bottle?"

"I'm looking." The second laughed and noticed someone standing at the corner. He frowned at the image. "Hey, who's there? Don't try to fucking run."

"I'm not running." Claude stepped into their view, under the dim light of the faulty lamp post. However, his eyes had gone so cold."Why don't you just let my friend leave? We won't find trouble with you guys anymore. Just let him go."

"Hey, if it isn't Dietrich's little bitch." The boyfriend laughed and glanced at his friends. "Or what, big boy? You gonna cry on Dietrich's dick about this?"

"I don't need him to do anything for me." Claude stepped closer. The waning moon shone down on his back, giving his image a strange glow. His words even sounded like a haunting warning to the people listening to him. Claude spoke louder this time, "Release Eugene… and maybe… you can go home tonight… alive and intact."

The boyfriend shrugged Gracie off him and strode toward him with a threat. "Are you telling me… that you… will hurt me? With what? That small body? You're only shapely, Lavallee. Just use your muscles when you bend over for some dick."

Claude tightened his fist. He knew these people would back down just from his words. However, he was already here. Eugene should be able to go home and keep his dignity.

Before Claude could speak again, the boyfriend jumped at him. Claude quickly ducked out of the way and ran to get to Eugene. The four other boys tried to catch him, but Claude moved so fast. He even stomped on a random container's neck, made it jump, and kicked it to a guy's face.

"Eugene, let's go!" Claude grabbed Eugene and effortlessly lifted the limping friend. Even if Eugene was injured, he couldn't care about the pain at the moment. Claude pulled Eugene up and onto his back like Eugene was a weightless child. He didn't even forget to kick Eugene's bag at another person's face. That should have been enough for them to escape, right?

"You're not getting away!" Gracie screamed and reached into her handbag. She took out a small gun and shot Claude's abdomen once to stun him… and then four more times.

"Lavallee!" Eugene cried out as he felt them fall. He crawled from beneath Claude and pressed his hands against Claude's gunshot wound. However, there were five holes. "Shit, Lavallee! What was that for? Why do you have a gun?"

The girl laughed and walked closer, aiming straight at Eugene's face. "I have one more bullet for you. You think you can get away with this?"

Even if it was excessive, the men around them could only watch. One even took out his phone as if filming the two people die before them.

"You're sick." Eugene trembled, but his hands could only freeze. The gun's cold light shone in the dark, right in front of the girl's brutal smile. He suddenly closed his eyes and turned away, only waiting for that split-second pain that would end everything.

Bang!

Claude quickly rose and caught the bullet with his teeth. Everyone gasped at the action, but Claude only glared straight at the girl's face.

Flicker! The lamp overhead went dark. Under the moonlight, they saw Claude lunge at Gracie. However, his body wriggled. His shoulders broadened, ripping his shirt into tatters. His arms broke out of the sleeves, the watch's belt snapping on his wrist. Fur shot out of his skin, covering every inch of his body.

The most horrifying change was on his face. Claude's pretty-boy looks morphed into a wolf's head with glaring red eyes and big teeth. Gracie would scream, but Claude crushed her neck in just one bite. Blood spurted, more when Claude shook the body to sever the head from the torn neck.

"G-Gracie?" The boyfriend could only call out. His boys suddenly made a run for it. A monster! Claude Lavallee suddenly turned into a monster!

They shouldn't have run. Claude wouldn't have sensed them. The werewolf finished morphing his lower half before dashing to clobber the running men to their deaths. His huge claws dug deep enough to break through the bones. His mere weight could crush their flesh.

The boyfriend stared at his friends' mangled bodies. He then glared at Eugene, who was curling up on the ground. He grabbed the broken container and ran toward Eugene. If that thing killed his friends, then he was allowed to take this Eugene guy to the grave. It was just that Claude got to him first. Claude tackled him to the ground and bit his head off just like that.

Eugene heard the noises stop. When he opened his eyes, he saw the big, bloodied wolf eating what was left of the boyfriend. He couldn't help but scream and back away.

His horrified voice seemingly woke Claude up. Claude spat out the flesh in his mouth and looked around to find the massacre that he had committed. His eyes widened at the realization. In an instant, he got off the boyfriend and crawled away from the dead, slowly turning back into his human form.

"…I'm sorry… I didn't mean to…" Claude whispered as he scanned the place again. The trick stench of fresh blood blocked other smells, and he could only wipe his face free from it. However, even his hands were covered in blood. He started to panic. "No, no… I… No, no, no… Wait, where's Eugene? Eugene?"

"Lavallee?" A small voice answered. Claude turned to find Eugene a few steps away from him. They were both on the ground, scared witless by the scene.

Eugene was the first to move, hoping to get to his feet. Claude turned away and curled up to cover all of himself. Even if his clothes were all wasted, the blood hid his skin. Steps then echoed closer. When Claude looked up, Eugene fell to his knees beside him. The other's trembling hands reached Claude's space before Eugene tightly gripped his arm.

A deep breath came before Eugene asked, "Are you okay? You got shot. Does it hurt? Can you walk? Are you dizzy? Fuck, we have to get out of here…"

"You're… not scared of me?"
