Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Before Akira and Kakashi could begin developing their respective jutsu, they first needed to clarify a few things.

Although their goals were similar in nature, the techniques they sought to create were fundamentally different—one was ninjutsu, the other taijutsu.

Akira's target was a form of nin-taijutsu similar to the Lightning Release Chakra Mode utilized by the Raikage lineage.

Most shinobi know how to channel chakra into their limbs to enhance speed and striking power—this is the foundation of taijutsu. The principle behind Lightning Release Chakra Mode is deceptively simple: replace regular chakra with lightning-natured chakra.

Lightning-natured chakra can stimulate muscle response, increasing both speed and explosive power. Just as elemental ninjutsu is superior to basic chakra techniques, elemental augmentation of taijutsu yields significantly stronger results.

However, execution is far more difficult than theory. Regular chakra poses no harm to the body. Lightning-natured chakra, on the other hand, is volatile and difficult to control. Using it internally requires immense precision; misuse could cause severe internal damage—or worse.

Mastering lightning-infused taijutsu demands not only a deep understanding and refined control over Lightning Release, but also a body strong enough to endure the physical toll. This is why few ninja dare tread this path. Only individuals with monstrous physiques—like the Raikage—can afford to wield it recklessly.

Kakashi's Chidori, however, is different. Though it also uses lightning to stimulate the body, it's designed to kill in a single strike. Its primary destructive power comes from compressing massive amounts of Lightning Release into the hand.

The bodily stimulation is only to enhance speed and ensure the jutsu hits. Unlike lightning-infused taijutsu, Chidori doesn't require sustained bodily enhancement—just a short burst. This makes it far less taxing.

That's why Kakashi, lacking the Raikage's legendary endurance, could still develop Chidori successfully. Of course, his genius and Sharingan also played a huge role.

Which technique is stronger—Chidori or Lightning Release Chakra Mode—is debatable. The Raikage may seem stronger in the anime, but that's due to his sheer physical might and reliance on brute force. Chidori provides more concentrated power, but Lightning Release Chakra Mode shines in sustained combat, defense, and overall mobility.

Even the Raikage doesn't completely convert his chakra into Lightning Release. Under Lightning Release Chakra Mode, the user still relies mostly on neutral chakra, with lightning crackling on the surface. It's not like Sasuke's Chidori Stream, where lightning courses visibly through the entire body.

If the entire chakra system were replaced with lightning-natured chakra, even someone like the Raikage would suffer extreme harm—much less Akira or Kakashi.

This is why their initial task was a collaborative effort: testing the optimal ratio of Lightning Release to regular chakra.

Their goal was to stimulate the body for peak performance—without frying it.

Akira would provide medical insight and a deep understanding of physiology, calculating the most efficient way to safely stimulate the body using lightning-natured chakra.

Kakashi, with his vast Lightning Release experience, would serve as the test subject and provide feedback based on feel and performance.

Once the ideal chakra ratio was found, the collaboration would end.

From there, the two would diverge. Kakashi would focus on creating and condensing high-density Lightning Release into his palm to enhance the destructive force of Chidori.

Akira would go deeper into refining control and minimizing self-harm while amplifying taijutsu effectiveness through long-term lightning stimulation.

With the roadmap laid out, they began phase one: using Lightning Release to activate and stimulate the body.

Unlike the previous training sessions, where Kakashi had led, this phase was dictated by Akira's data.

To get a little payback for Kakashi's earlier strictness, Akira mischievously altered a few non-critical data points.

The result? Kakashi was zapped in all the wrong places.

As Kakashi writhed on the ground, jolted by erratic chakra flows, Akira fought hard to suppress a smirk.

"Oh no, Kakashi-senpai! Are you okay? I must've messed up a data point or two. My bad!"

Kakashi, groaning in pain, waved it off. "It's fine... Let's try again."

Akira quickly used medical ninjutsu to relieve the strain and heal the minor damage.

Kakashi, touched by what he saw as Akira's concern, had no idea the mishap was intentional revenge.

Akira, meanwhile, was internally smug.

"These ninja... no proper schooling. How could they see through my little schemes?"

Of course, Akira wasn't reckless. He only altered non-essential parameters and ensured there were no lasting effects. He knew Kakashi had done his own Chidori research and might catch on if something felt too off.

Plus, Akira needed Kakashi healthy. The project couldn't proceed without him.

Despite the little detour, development continued smoothly—until a familiar interruption arrived.

"KAKASHI! I challenge you to a duel!"

Even before the voice's owner appeared, Akira already knew who it was.

Only one person in the entire Hidden Leaf Village shouted with that much passion and youthful fervor: Might Guy.

Kakashi's face instantly soured. That voice was all too familiar.

Guy had been challenging him to duels since childhood, never discouraged no matter how many times he lost.

For a while, Kakashi had avoided him thanks to missions and secluded training, but the peace was now broken.

With a screech of sandals against the training ground and a dramatic puff of smoke, Guy appeared.

Wearing his signature green jumpsuit, thick eyebrows blazing with spirit, and his iconic bowl cut catching the sunlight, Might Guy made a flamboyant entrance.

He landed in a pose, gave a thumbs up, and grinned brightly.

"Kakashi! The springtime of youth burns eternal! Let us have a passionate duel!"

His teeth sparkled like freshly polished kunai.

Akira and Kakashi both squinted, temporarily blinded by the glint.

Speaking of which, Mo Nan's predecessor also knew Might Guy.

Might Guy always regarded Kakashi as his goal, in order to catch up with Kakashi, who was a genius.

Having no talent, he could only force himself to undergo arduous training every day, which put a great burden on his body.

Because he cultivated too desperately, he was often injured, and he went to the hospital more often than Kakashi.

That's how the predecessor knew him, and therefore the predecessor was more familiar with Guy than with Kakashi.

If Kakashi was the predecessor's ordinary patient, then Guy was a very troublesome patient.

Because Guy entered the hospital time and time again due to overtraining, many doctors, including Nan, had advised him to reduce his training and that health was the most important thing.

But he was too stubborn, ignoring the advice, and still stubbornly completed high-intensity training every day.

Over time, Nan gradually gave up persuading him, but was shocked by his persistent spirit.

For the current Mo Nan, he certainly knew that this Guy would be the number one taijutsu master in the ninja world in the future, loved by a large number of fans, and become Emperor Guy.

And the achievements he was able to achieve were inseparable from the spirit of perseverance and dedication he possessed now.

The current Guy should have just become a Chunin not long ago. Mo Nan still remembered that Guy's father, who passed this spirit on to him, seemed to have sacrificed himself after Guy became a Chunin.

I don't know if Might Dai is dead yet. If he's not dead, I can find a way to save him if I have the opportunity.

Because the fate of this character has little to do with the main line, it does not affect Mo Nan's foresight.

Whether in his previous life or in this life, Mo Nan liked the character Guy very much, but Guy didn't seem to notice Mo Nan at all, and put all his attention on Kakashi, constantly pestering him for a duel.

Kakashi was annoyed by Guy's entanglement, so he had to agree to his request for a duel, but Kakashi would decide the content of the duel himself.

"Let's see who blinks faster, what do you think?"

"What! Kakashi, I've been looking for you for three months, and the thing you want to compare is so boring?"

Guy was obviously unwilling. He wanted to have a passionate duel with Kakashi, not flirt with each other.

"You can't say that, comparing who blinks faster is actually comparing who has stronger muscles near the eyes. Eyesight is very important for ninjas."

Kakashi was obviously talking nonsense, at least Mo Nan didn't know what the relationship between blinking fast and eyesight was.

Kakashi was obviously too lazy to think about the content of the competition, so he just came up with a boring game to perfunctorily deal with Guy.

Probably no one would believe this kind of nonsense, but that doesn't include the rough-lined Guy.

"I see, is this considered a contest of eyesight? But is the speed of blinking related to eyesight? I've never heard of it."

Guy wasn't a fool, and he didn't completely believe it.

Although he despised Kakashi, Mo Nan didn't want to waste too much of their training time on Guy. Seeing that Guy was a little doubtful, Mo Nan decided to add fuel to the fire.

"Blinking is indeed related to eyesight," Mo Nan said.

Only then did Guy notice that there was another person next to him, and it was Mo Nan whom he knew.

"What a coincidence, Nan, why are you with Kakashi? Do you know each other?"

Mo Nan told Guy about developing ninjutsu with Kakashi.

Guy said 'I see' and then asked, "Nan, do you also believe that eyesight is related to blinking speed?"

"Of course, you know that our Uchiha clan is a family that uses pupil technique bloodlines."

Mo Nan said as he opened his Sharingan, the ordinary three-tomoe. Then he said to Guy:

"Usually, we Uchiha ninjas use a method similar to blinking hard to train our pupil power. Look, I have been practicing frequently, and now I am already at the three-tomoe level."

Guy listened to Mo Nan's words and 'suddenly realized' that he completely believed Kakashi's nonsense.

Guy said excitedly, "Then Kakashi, let's start quickly!"

So the two of them started a fierce blinking contest under Mo Nan's witness. The result of the competition was naturally Guy's Failure.

"OH NO~~," Guy screamed. He couldn't accept the fact that his eyesight was inferior to Kakashi's.

And he said that he would practice blinking 5,000 times a day in the future, no, 50,000 times, and he would work harder to surpass Kakashi as soon as possible.

"He won't really believe it and practice 50,000 times a day, will he?"

Looking at Guy running towards the setting sun and slowly disappearing, Mo Nan felt a trace of guilt in his heart, but he quickly blamed it on Kakashi.

"After all, Kakashi is the mastermind, and he just followed his words, he was just forced to be an accomplice."

Mo Nan silently comforted himself in his heart, this was all a lie he had to tell for the sake of cultivation, and soon that trace of guilt disappeared without a trace.

And Kakashi didn't care about this. He had tricked Guy many times using similar methods.

From then on, Guy practiced desperately every day, blinking his eyes until they were red and swollen.

When others saw him and went up to ask him what he was doing, he told them that he was practicing his eyesight.

Then he was looked at with the eyes of an idiot. When he saw that people didn't believe him, he went up to argue, saying that this was the eye-opening method of the Sharingan personally taught by the genius ninja of the Uchiha clan.

No one believed his nonsense, and they only thought that he had finally gone crazy from overtraining.

Until this statement reached Uchiha Obito, who had been troubled by his inability to open the Sharingan.

From then on, the urban legend of two blinking maniacs in Konoha spread.

When this matter was passed back to Mo Nan, Mo Nan suddenly realized that although Kakashi was the mastermind when he tricked Guy, his responsibility might be even greater.

Of course, these are all things of the past. No matter what, after getting rid of Guy, Mo Nan and Kakashi could finally cultivate properly.

When Guy was busy practicing his blinking skills and had no time to disturb them, their progress was rapid. Soon, the two of them basically completed the first stage of developing the new technique.

Mo Nan and Kakashi had completely figured out how strong the Lightning Release chakra should be to stimulate cell activation. Now, they could both use Lightning Release for short-term acceleration.

Completing the first stage made Mo Nan and Kakashi very excited. This meant that their theory was completely feasible, and the development of the new technique had reached the final stage, and success was just around the corner.

Just when Mo Nan and Kakashi thought they could complete the new technique in one go, a not-so-good news came.

Kakashi received a notice that he was about to leave the village to perform a mission, which meant that the cooperation between the two would come to an end.

Mo Nan expressed his understanding. The village was in wartime, and ninjas were needed on all battlefields. Kakashi was able to have two months off, probably to take a special leave to develop the new technique.

But this didn't affect anything. Originally, the second stage of the two people's ninjutsu was different, and they originally planned to develop their own separately. Now, it was just a matter of separating a little earlier.

Both of them were confident that they could complete the development of the new technique on their own after separating. Kakashi also said that he would cultivate during his free time while performing the mission and strive to complete the new technique before returning to the village next time.

At that time, the two of them would compare who completed the new technique first.

Mo Nan said that there was no problem, he would definitely complete it one step ahead, and he was afraid that Kakashi would not be able to complete it at that time, and he would be ashamed and unable to return to see him.

Kakashi was speechless. After he became familiar with Mo Nan, he discovered Mo Nan's deeply hidden poisonous tongue attribute, which was completely different from his previous impression of him as the number one genius in Konoha.

Although he was a little used to it and knew that Mo Nan had no malice, sometimes it still hurt to hear him speak.

Mo Nan laughed as he looked at Kakashi's deflated expression.
