Brandon's POV
There are three things in life that scare me. Two of them scare me the most.
The first is my family being torn apart. The second is losing my voice — not being able to sing, not being able to do music at all.
Today, one of those fears caught up with me.
And the feeling… wasn't good.
I held the papers in my hand, still hoping I'd wake up and realize it was all a bad dream. The texture of the legal parchment felt cold against my fingers. Then Ashley's phone rang, dragging me back into reality.
"It's my mum," she said, her voice filled with concern as she glanced at the screen, clearly worried about her.
She stepped further away to take the call, and I could faintly hear her muttering a few words. Her sleek black hair fell like a curtain over her shoulders, swaying gently as she walked. A moment later, she slipped the phone into the back pocket of her fitted jeans and turned to look at me.
"Brandon… we have to go."
