Belada graduated from the European Business School with a major in business, obtained his master's degree in e-commerce from Ramon Llull University, Spain, and later continued his studies in the comprehensive management program at IESE Business School.
His career path is quite unusual. Before 2004, he had nothing to do with football and worked as a product manager and commercial development manager at a telecom company in Spain.
After 2004, he entered the football field in Barcelona and served as the sponsorship director for seven years, helping Barcelona secure sponsorships. In 2011, he was recruited by Manchester City to become the international commercial development director.
