Chapter 28 - Chapter 22: The Complete Racing Simulator

Although the decimal points extended to the last two places, making Qin Miao feel helpless, at least playing this game allowed him to enhance his track proficiency for Spa.

Qin Miao had no other agenda; he just wanted to bring his proficiency on the Spa track to 100.

Thus, Qin Miao started clocking laps in this relatively uncomfortable manner.

When racing, Qin Miao could easily get completely absorbed, a trait that suited being a racer well, as racing is a sport demanding focus, allowing little room for error.

So, despite being unaccustomed to this set of hardware, he still managed to fully immerse himself after just a few laps.

Qimeng had already packed her things, but upon seeing Qin Miao wearing headphones and seriously lapping on the hotel's computer, she reconsidered.

Qimeng suddenly didn't feel like dragging Qin Miao out shopping anymore.

Originally, Qimeng planned to take Qin Miao around places of interest near Changsha and create some shared memories at these famous tourist sights.

But seeing Qin Miao grabbing every opportunity to race, Qimeng suddenly realized that instead of having Qin Miao race against time, it would be better to support him on his favored, most promising path.

In the future, when Qin Miao looks back after achieving fame, he'd realize that in his journey of successes, failures, laughter, and sorrow, she had been a part of it all.

The thought gave her a bit of nurturing pleasure.

Qimeng took out her phone to check the time; it was only around 2:30 in the afternoon, enough time to take Qin Miao for training.

Pulling out her phone to open the map app, she located the nearest racing simulator experience store to their hotel.

After confirming the distance from the hotel to the experience store, Qimeng patiently stood behind Qin Miao, watching him play the game.

Watching Qin Miao's just slightly boyish face, Qimeng's face wasn't filled with smiles, but more with a calm serenity and composure after seeing through the vanities.

In Qimeng's view, Qin Miao understood the importance of mutual companionship in a relationship better than she did.

Soon, after Qin Miao finished a flying lap Qimeng could see wasn't very good, Qin Miao was about to adjust the racing settings when Qimeng interrupted him slightly, who was using a keyboard to gather thoughts on racing better.

"Hey... Qin Miao, I'm ready, let's go."

Stirred by Qimeng's call, Qin Miao shifted his attention away from the game, realizing after running several laps he only reached 91.8 track proficiency. He understood that trying to reach 100 on this track using the hotel computer was a significant waste of time.

So he simply turned off the game, stood up, and curiously asked, "Where are we headed? Have you decided yet?"

Qimeng chuckled, pretending to be mysterious, "It's a secret; you'll find out once we're there."

Qin Miao was helpless; he wasn't fond of people being vague in front of him. If there's something to say, just say it, he thought, feeling somewhat exasperated by all the secrecy.

But facing Qimeng's blooming smile, Qin Miao couldn't muster any irritation. After all, how could he get upset when she called him her 'husband'?

Turning off the computer, Qin Miao left with Qimeng.

When they reached the parking lot, it was still Qimeng driving.

Honestly, Qin Miao was surprised by how good Qimeng was at driving, especially since she was about a month younger and couldn't have had her license longer than he had.

Yet, her driving style was particularly steady, without any nervousness or eagerness to compete with other cars.

She didn't resemble a novice female driver who had just obtained her license.

After a ten-minute drive, Qimeng found a spot by the road to park.

Qin Miao got out of the car, but it was just an ordinary street; there was a residential area nearby with some roadside stores, nothing that seemed to attract Qimeng's interest.

While Qin Miao was still puzzled, Qimeng, having parked the car, naturally slipped her small hand into Qin Miao's palm, interlocking their fingers.

"This way!" Qimeng said with a smile, pulling Qin Miao towards the corridor of the residential area.

Frankly, Qin Miao was more puzzled. What was this girl up to?

Soon, as they entered the residential area, Qin Miao discovered there were indeed many shops inside, and a sign reading 'Takeoff Racing Simulator Experience Shop' appeared before his eyes.

Qin Miao was taken aback for a moment, then looked at Qimeng with surprise and asked, "Weren't we going out? Why not to Juzizhou or May 1st Square, instead coming to a place that only interests me?"

Feigning displeasure, Qimeng replied, "Isn't it possible your girlfriend isn't someone who would force her partner to do things he doesn't like?"

Qin Miao scratched his nose and explained, "I was just a bit surprised... Besides, wouldn't you be bored visiting these places?"

"Just tell me, do you want to check it out?"

"I do."

"Then let's go! Why waste words."

Following Qimeng's lead, Qin Miao entered the racing simulator experience shop, the interior of which was much as he'd imagined, with several racing simulators lined against the walls.

The frames of these simulators were fitted with three monitors connected together, and below were steering wheels, racing seats, pedals, handbrakes—complete with all the equipment.

Of course, what truly captivated Qin Miao's attention wasn't these conventional racing simulators, as he already had similar equipment, though due to less rally involvement, a few components were missing. However, he did possess the essential pedals and steering wheel.

Compared to the store's equipment, Qin Miao's setup wasn't as professional, exuding a characteristic frugality of a budget recycler, but functionality was key to it all.

Yet, the shop truly snared Qin Miao's gaze with two six-axis racing simulators situated at the center.

These simulators were supported by six white hydraulic cylinders, grouped in pairs, with two sets at the front and one at the rear.

These hydraulic cylinders formed a stable base with a triangular arrangement, supporting all the equipment.

On the reinforced frame bearing everything else were racing seats, pedals, steering wheels, monitors, and even VR glasses, resembling other simulators yet distinctly satisfying.

This setup was incredibly professional, equipped with surround sound systems transferring the road feel entirely into the driver's body via the six hydraulic cylinders beneath the equipment.

It wasn't like when Qin Miao drove at home, where vehicle feedback only came through sound and the vibration and force changes transmitted through the steering wheel.

Intrigued, Qin Miao approached these high-end simulators, touched the expensive machinery, already harboring a desire to try them out.

Needless to say, spending some of the 600,000 in his Racing Fund on one wouldn't be an issue. Plus, his mother's open-mindedness wouldn't pose any objections.

With this in mind, images of using this machinery at home and participating in competitions surfaced in Qin Miao's mind.

As Qin Miao was absorbed in thought, Qimeng's pleasant voice pulled him back to reality.

"Qin Miao, stop daydreaming. I've paid; get on and give it a try."

Turning around, Qin Miao saw Qimeng walking over with a middle-aged man, approximately forty years old.

"Hello, I'm the owner here. My surname is Zhou."

"Nice to meet you, Boss Zhou."

"Let me show you how to use it."

"Ah, alright, thank you."
