~Rhiannon's POV~
There wasn't much to say or argue with Kael after that. Not that I could when his lips crashed down on mine again.
His kiss was… simply put, Ravyn wanted more, but I denied my body that chance even though I had a plan already cooking.
It wasn't until he was about to pull back that I let my lips part a little. Kael did not miss a chance.
His mouth moved against mine with a gentleness that startled me—so unlike the forceful kiss before. It was slower this time, almost reverent, and then he drew back, his breath fanning across my lips.
"Come with me, Rhiannon," Kael murmured, stretching out his hand, palm open. "For your safety."
I hesitated, then slipped my fingers into his.
As soon as we got to his chambers, he stopped outside, glanced at the new guards out there, and I could sense he was instructing them, but he wasn't speaking.
He… he was mindlinking them, probably about my earlier escape or something.
