The death of the Kiri-nin sent a shock through the remaining guards. Their eyes sharpened, and they drew their kunai, assuming battle stances.
Regardless of whether the person before them was a Konoha kid, one thing was certain: this kid's swordsmanship was formidable, and a single misstep could be fatal.
"Who are you?" One of the Kiri-nin couldn't help but ask.
At such a young age, and a Konoha ninja no less, he must be some renowned genius.
"Who am I?" Tengen gave a faint smile. "Konoha Jonin, Tengen."
"Konoha Jonin, Tengen." The Kiri-nin gasped in unison.
Though many Kiri-nin scoffed at Tengen's reputation, some of his feats had still reached the ears of those in the Kirigakure.
So, this was Tengen. But weren't the Kirigakure and Konoha at war? They'd heard Tengen was on the battlefield, so why was he here now?
Then they recalled his earlier words: to destroy the Kirigakure.
"You really intend to destroy the Kirigakure?" One of the Kiri-nin asked involuntarily.
"Of course. It's to end this war faster. Perhaps you'll even thank me for it." Tengen said calmly, gripping his Zanpakuto.
"You're dreaming! You think you can do that alone? That's impossible!" Another Kiri-nin roared.
The Kirigakure was their home, and they would never allow Tengen to destroy it.
"Then come at me." Tengen said, eyeing the Kiri-nin.
These Kiri-nin were only Chunin-level, with a few being elite Chunin at best. To the current Tengen, Chunin were mere fodder.
Even against Jonin, if Tengen got serious, they wouldn't withstand his attacks.
"Kill him!" The Kiri-nin charged, unaware of the true terror of Tengen, as the Kirigakure knew the least about him.
They would pay the price for their ignorance.
Tengen's figure flickered among the Kiri-nin, his Zanpakuto slashing and rising.
A few seconds later.
"This… this… how can this be?" The last remaining Kiri-nin at the gate stared at Tengen in terror.
Around him lay the bodies of his comrades, their blood pooling on the ground.
They were lifeless.
In mere seconds, Tengen had ended their lives.
And this surviving Kiri-nin knew he was alive only because Tengen had spared him.
"Why? What are you trying to do?" The Kiri-nin asked, trembling with fear.
"I already told you. I'm here to destroy the Kirigakure." Tengen said, looking at him impassively. "I spared you so you could inform the Kirigakure. Go on, call out their strongest shinobi."
"I… I…" The Kiri-nin shook uncontrollably.
"Go." Tengen said, his voice soft but laced with a terrifying edge.
With a scream, the Kiri-nin fled into the village, perhaps seeking the faint sense of safety it offered.
"Kirigakure." Tengen murmured, stepping slowly into the village.
The entire village was shrouded in thick fog. Tengen stood at the entrance, Zanpakuto in hand.
Soon after, an alarm blared through the Kirigakure. News of Tengen's invasion had reached the village's higher-ups.
Many of the Kirigakure's Jonin gathered at Tengen's location.
In about ten minutes, countless Kiri-nin surrounded Tengen, with dozens of them, elite shinobi of the village, positioned nearby.
"Tengen, you plan to destroy the Kirigakure to secure victory for Konoha." A lean, middle-aged Kiri-nin stepped forward and said.
"You're sharp. That's exactly my intention." Tengen replied, glancing at the ninja.
"Taking on an entire village's shinobi alone? Not even Uchiha Madara or the First Hokage dared such a thing." The Kiri-nin said. "If you don't want to be trapped here, you can leave. We'll pretend this never happened."
In truth, this Jonin knew that if a battle broke out in their village, Tengen's Mangekyō Sharingan or Wood Release could cause catastrophic damage.
Even if they managed to kill Tengen, the Kirigakure would suffer immense destruction.
"That won't do." Tengen said, shaking his head.
The Kiri-nin's face darkened. This was a rejection of their mercy.
"So be it, Tengen. Don't blame us." The Kiri-nin said, signaling to the others. A barrier, shimmering like flowing water, began to form around the Kirigakure.
"You're trapping me in this barrier. Won't that cause even more damage to your village?" Tengen asked, making no attempt to flee.
The Kiri-nin sneered.
"In this barrier, Water Release chakra becomes exceptionally active." The Kiri-nin explained. "This is our home field. And we know you have space-time ninjutsu, so this barrier is designed to seal space."
"It's a massive drain on the Kirigakure, and it won't last long, but to eliminate you, it's worth it." The Kiri-nin said grimly.
"Is that so?" Tengen remained calm. "Then this place is a prison for you as well."
"Come on, then. Will you use the Mangekyō's power or Wood Release?" The surrounding Kiri-nin braced themselves to face Tengen.
"Mangekyō, Wood Release." Tengen said with a smile. "No, today I won't use either."
"What…" The Kiri-nin froze. "You have other powers?"
"The destruction of the Kirigakure is inevitable." Tengen said, his gaze sweeping over the ninja radiating killing intent.
His left hand brushed over his Zanpakuto, feeling the blade's eager power.
"You're the first shinobi to witness this power." Tengen said.
"All Creation! Reduced to Ashes! Ryūjin Jakka."
The release command of Ryūjin Jakka.
The power from the world of Bleach was unleashed for the first time in the world of Naruto.
