Chapter 112 - Chapter 112: The Chitauri Army

Loki had taken full control.

By manipulating Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Phil Coulson, Loki had essentially hijacked the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. With those three under his control, and no one suspecting a thing, the command structure of the world's most powerful peacekeeping force had been hollowed out from within.

And no one knew.

With Fury giving orders, Hill running operations, and Coulson covering intel, Loki's plan began to unfold rapidly. Under the guise of official missions, S.H.I.E.L.D began collecting rare and volatile materials from across the globe.

Their purpose? To build a gateway. Not just any gateway—a portal capable of piercing through dimensions and opening a bridge to the stars… or worse, to hell.

---

At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Loki—dressed in a custom black suit, radiating confidence—stood before a small group of officials. There was a smug, amused glint in his eyes as he spoke.

"I do hope you'll enjoy my little surprise… especially you, Bella," he whispered under his breath, though she was galaxies away and completely unaware of the storm gathering in her name.

---

Elsewhere in the building, Natasha Romanoff had just returned from a successful mission. As she made her way through the corridors, she ran into Hill. Something was… off.

"Did you change your contacts?" Natasha asked casually.

Hill smiled, eyes darker than usual—a deep, unnatural blue, almost glowing.

"Do you like them?" she asked, brushing a strand of hair back.

"They're… nice," Natasha replied, though unease prickled at the back of her neck. She tried to make small talk, referencing Tony Stark as a diversion. Hill played along, laughing and walking away. But as she disappeared down the corridor, Natasha's eyes narrowed.

Something wasn't right.

---

Two weeks passed.

Bella and Angie, still blissfully unaware of the danger on Earth, were touring Honduras, Oman, and parts of southwestern Africa.

They explored underwater caves, watched molten lava bubble in active submarine volcanoes, and stood atop multicolored sand dunes in the Namib Desert. Cosmo the space dog and Nina the blue cat followed them loyally—Cosmo barking happily, Nina forever unimpressed.

It was peaceful. Serene.

But back in New York, the world was unraveling.

---

In Stark Tower, three of Earth's mightiest minds were gathering.

Tony Stark paced before the floor-to-ceiling windows, while Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers—a.k.a. Captain America—listened intently.

"You're telling me someone's taken over S.H.I.E.L.D?" Rogers asked, stunned.

"I'm not saying it. I'm proving it," Tony said grimly. "Half a month ago, Natasha noticed something weird inside S.H.I.E.L.D. She got chased—by our own agents. Barton's gone off the grid too."

"Clint?" Steve frowned. "That's not like him."

"And get this," Tony continued. "When I tried to access S.H.I.E.L.D systems using J.A.R.V.I.S., I found out they're collecting iridium."

Steve blinked. "What's that?"

"One of the most corrosion-resistant metals in existence," Natasha explained. "Useful for handling extreme temperatures and volatile materials."

Tony added, "Which means they're building something that needs to survive massive energy flow. A portal, maybe."

Steve crossed his arms. "And what for?"

Tony's face turned cold. "No idea. But it's big. And bad."

He didn't need to say more.

Just then—BOOM.

A massive explosion shook the entire city.

The sky over Manhattan cracked open as a beam of blinding blue energy burst from a skyscraper, ripping through the clouds like a lance. The skyline shimmered as reality itself was torn apart.

From the tear, dozens of flying alien ships burst through, followed by hundreds—no, thousands—of Chitauri warriors.

The invasion had begun.

"WHAT THE HELL—" Tony leapt up.

Steve ran to the window, eyes wide. "Is that… an army?"

Roars echoed through the skies as massive serpentine motherships slithered into Earth's atmosphere. Smaller alien craft raced between buildings, firing energy blasts into the streets below.

Lasers. Explosions. Screams. Chaos.

New York was under siege.

"Now we know what the iridium was for," Tony said, grim. "They used it to stabilize that portal."

He tapped his comm. "J.A.R.V.I.S., initiate House Party protocol."

"Confirmed, sir."

High above them, dozens of Iron Man armors launched into the sky, flying in formation toward the incoming alien wave.

Steve grabbed his shield. "I'll take the elevator."

"Of course you will," Tony muttered, already flying into action.

---

Downtown Manhattan was in ruins.

Aliens zipped between skyscrapers, firing indiscriminately into traffic and pedestrians. Entire streets lit up with energy fire, while explosions rocked buildings.

People screamed. Sirens wailed. The sky was blackened by the shadow of the Chitauri fleet.

From the air, Tony's armors engaged the first wave—blasting enemy ships from the sky. Lasers collided, metal clanged, and debris fell like rain.

Meanwhile, Steve and Natasha joined the fray, carving a path through the chaos. Steve's shield deflected blasts while Natasha took down warriors with precise gunfire.

In the distance, a particularly tall building stood out.

The Angel Fund skyscraper.

At its top stood the portal device, powered by none other than the glowing Tesseract, humming with unstable energy.

Tony flew up, trying to destroy the machine—but his blasts hit an invisible energy shield, rebounding with sparks.

"J.A.R.V.I.S, status?" Tony barked.

"The device is shielded, sir. Penetration impossible."

"Perfect. Just perfect."

---

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning cracked through the clouds, incinerating a fleet of Chitauri ships.

THUNDER roared.

And then, descending through the storm, a red-cloaked figure with a hammer appeared—Thor.

He landed with impact atop the skyscraper, Mjolnir in hand, his face grim.

"Thor?" Tony blinked.

"I came as soon as I saw the sky tear," Thor said. "My brother… he's behind this."

Tony stared at him. "Loki?"

"He never returned to Asgard. He's been corrupted—controlled by a cosmic warlord. The Chitauri serve him now."

Tony processed that for a second. "So… alien army, magic brother, interdimensional warlord. Got it."

"I should have stopped him," Thor said, clenching his jaw. "If Heimdall hadn't seen the chaos from the Bifrost…"

His voice trailed off.

This was no longer a local conflict. It was an interstellar invasion.

And it had already begun.

---

As explosions rocked the city and the skies burned with alien fire, the Avengers were finally assembling—though still scattered and far from whole.

Bella had no idea the storm was already here.

But Loki did.

He stood in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s command center, watching it all unfold on a massive screen. A smirk played across his lips.

"You'll come back now, won't you?" he whispered to the empty room. "I made sure of it."

The Chitauri invasion had begun.

Earth's Mightiest Heroes were about to be tested like never before.
