They had just endured chaos. Their emotions were still raw.

The crowd surged forward, eyes bloodshot, like sworn enemies meeting face to face.

She opened her mouth.
But no words came.
Before coming, she had intended to persuade him to cease hostilities.
Yet the mountain of corpses outside pressed down on her heart like a crushing weight.
She could not believe the academy had committed such inhuman atrocities for the sake of profit.
Were a thousand lives truly so cheap in their eyes?
No argument could leave her lips.
If their positions were reversed—
If her foundation had nearly been destroyed…
If her subordinates had been slaughtered…
How could she not burn with rage?
Such hatred was irreconcilable.
Silence filled the hall.
Long.
Heavy.
Then it was broken—
Not by her.
But by Huo Yuhao.

She looked up, stunned.

There was hope.
