Wade didn't dodge since he could see her plan quite clearly. She wanted to make him look like her boyfriend or even worse, a husband!
The group from Blood Temple became wary while those from Ti Family lost their minds.
"So, is this your hidden trump card or just a boy toy?"
The red leader growled as he pointed his saber at them.
"I heard that Ti Patriarch is quite traditional. Are you sure he would not kill you once he found out about your little prostitute?"
Many would have expected the leader to sound mocking, but the words were conveyed in absolute seriousness.
Even Que Ti frowned a bit. This was troublesome indeed.
Meanwhile, Wade's expression was getting colder. When had anyone insulted him like that? He had buried quite a few people for talking shit at him back home.
He considered taking the woman into a choke hold and snapping her neck, but decided against it since he would surely die against so many people.
Even if Blood Temple didn't care about those insignificant disciples, causing the death of the so-called Ti Family's heiress would give him unnecessary trouble.
Instead, he wrapped his arm around her waist and tightly pressed her body to his. Then, he positioned himself toward the group while partially shielding her.
"Who dares to threaten my woman?"
His words were filled with intent. His dark eyes narrowed, exuding a deadly chill.
The red group became instantly wary, unable to distinguish between shit talk and the real deal.
The red leader was especially wary since he couldn't sense a modicum of qi from Wade, but he still felt a subtle apprehension from him as if his whole existence was rejecting even being in his presence.
Meanwhile, Que TI became even more mortified as she felt her strength slowly leave her body. How was that possible? She was a second stage Body Refinement cultivator!
Even Wade started to feel strange while holding her soft squishy body. It wasn't due to his lust kicking in, but rather he felt his strength slowly increase.
The stalemate continued for a few minutes and Que Ti became paler with each moment.
The onlookers became even more wary, unable to understand if this girl was getting feisty or genuinely terrified.

The red leader stepped forward and gave his greetings.
'Huh. The goons from Blood Temple know manners? I thought they were all socially dead with the way their citizens behaved.'
Wade didn't return the greeting. Instead, he haughtily stared down at the man. Wade was playing a psychological game.
'If I had returned the greeting. It would mean I would be treating this prick as my equal or even superior to me. The best move is to appear lofty and indifferent.'
The red leader frowned but decided to dismiss the rudeness since Wade appeared too mysterious.
"Brother, this pile of low-grade qi crystals was found by us. Thus, we are the ones to take it!"
The red spoke firmly, wanting to show his adamant stance.
Wade snickered but a sudden loud yell nearly defeated him.
"How dare you?! We found this at the same time!"
Que Ti was enraged despite her continuously deteriorating state.
Wade frowned and tightly pinched her waist, earning a cold glare from her.
"Leave or die."
Wade spoke in a commanding voice and tsked in disgust.
The onlookers became enraged.
Where did this prick come from?!
"Brother, it doesn't work this wa-"
Just before the red leader could finish his sentence, a collective yelp resounded from the back.
He turned around to find a warm corpse with a thick needle sticking out of its forehead.
'When did he?!'
The men became agitated, unable to understand how it had bypassed their senses.
'As expected, the outer disciples of Blood Temple aren't worth a dime. They got used to attacks powered by qi. Thus, they subsequently lost the sharpness of their physical senses.'
Wade wanted to laugh, but it would expose him. Plus, he had a lady to take with him back home. After all, he had to get a payback.
Whispers began to fly among the people. Many expressed their desire to leave and abandon the pile. Some even suggested the suspicious placement of the qi crystals. Didn't it look like a trap?
The red leader began to waver under the persuasion of his underlings. It reached the point when he suddenly turned around and left. Abandoning the fellow daoist's corpse.
The crowd dispersed, leaving only the weird couple and the servants of the Ti Family.
However, Wade didn't let the girl get out of his embrace. He tightly held her by the waist and walked toward the pile of qi crystals.
Que Ti wanted to thrash out but decided against it after seeing the scrutinizing gazes of her servants.
Wade pondered whether this was a trap and decided to test it on somebody.
"You. Go gather the crystals."
The man, who looked to be in his thirties frowned, but Que Ti promptly ordered him to comply.
Helpless, he could only drag his injured body and reach for the qi crystals. However, the moment he touched them a bright flash of green light blinded them all.
"Ahh!"
Que Ti shrieked and unintentionally hugged Wade with all her might.
'Kxh-damn it, this chick is strong.'
Wade shielded his eyes and soon the light disappeared, leaving only a charred corpse.
"Well, looks like it is time to go."
Wade said nonchalantly and picked up Que Ti in a princess carry.
Just before the Ti family's servants could clarify what was going on, a beam of green light descended on the couple, making them disappear into thin air.
The remaining few servants had their eyes and mouths wide open. Unable to process the situation.
"D-Did he just elope with young miss?!"
