Chapter 20 - Pure Anger

It had been about three days since my last big fight.

And now here I was—sent on a solo mission to hunt down a horde of rogue demons.

Why me? Well, ever since Sona realized I was one of her strongest pieces, she didn't hesitate to send me out alone. Not that I was complaining.

Honestly? This was kinda boring.

I cracked my knuckles and stretched my arms high over my head. My joints popped in satisfying harmony.

MC (thinking): "Tch... already beat up, like, 47 of these guys. Still more left, huh..."

I scanned the broken wasteland before me—burned grass, upturned earth, and the fading screams of demons I'd already flattened. Then I spotted them.

About 138 more.

They snarled and slithered in the distance, some crawling, some flying, some just stomping around like oversized toddlers with rage issues.

MC: "Heh. Good. I've been dying to test out a new move anyway."

I grinned.

MC (thinking): "Let's spice this up."

My muscles bulged, steam hissed from my skin as I activated Gear 3.

My right arm expanded rapidly, the skin stretching to monstrous proportions as my body puffed up like a balloon.

MC: "GUM-GUM... RED HAWK!!"

Flames engulfed my massive fist, and I launched it straight into the crowd of demons. It hit with an earth-shattering boom—an inferno exploded from the impact, lighting the sky in crimson and gold. The ground split, sending a shockwave that launched demon bodies sky-high like fireworks.

MC: "Whew... that was flashy."

I landed with a soft thud as ash and soot rained down around me.

MC (whistling): "Heh... took out, what, half of them already?"

I looked up at the remaining horde. Their growls became uneasy. A few stepped back.

MC (grinning): "Now, now... where are you all going? We were just getting to the fun part."

I cracked my neck, then activated Gear 2. Steam surged around me as my skin took on a pink tint, the air rippling with raw heat and speed.

MC: "Let's make this interesting."

I blurred.

In a blink of an eye i appeared behide him.—

MC: "BOO."

The demons jumped. Before they could even react—

MC: "GUM-GUM... JET PISTOL!"

My fist connected with the lead demon's jaw. It flew backward, smashing through at least seven others like a bowling ball.

MC: "Strike!"

I zipped between them, fists flying, delivering Jet Gatling strikes so fast they didn't have time to scream. Bones cracked, my knuckles burning with heat, and limbs flew as I danced through the carnage.

MC: "GUM-GUM... BAZOOKA!"

Two massive fists, launched like cannons, slammed a ten-foot demon into a crater.

MC: "You guys came at me with this energy... so don't run now!"

I jumped, my body spinning in the air.

MC: "GUM-GUM... AXE!"

My enlarged foot came down with a devastating stomp, flattening the ground—and twenty demons beneath it.

MC: "Still not enough for ya?"

One demon tried to sneak up on me from behind. I yawned, then whipped my arm backward without looking—

MC: "GUM-GUM... WHIP!"

The demon got clotheslined so hard it turned into mist.

MC: "Alright... let's go big."

I puffed up my bones again, my left hand expanding monstrously.

MC: "GUM-GUM... GIANT PISTOL!"

The punch sent a shockwave that lifted rocks, demons, and even part of the cliff. Dust mushroomed as the horde screamed and scattered.

MC (grinning): "Awww, don't give up now. We were bonding."

A group of twenty tried to flank me. I smirked, tapped my foot—

MC: "GUM-GUM... STAMP!"

My foot, the size of a truck, came down on them. They didn't even leave stains.

MC: "Yup. I'm definitely bored no more."

They tried charging all at once. Bad move.

MC: "GUM-GUM... GATLING!"

Fists flew faster than their eyes could track. Dozens dropped. Some exploded. Some turned into dust. Others just... disappeared.

One desperate demon threw a boulder at me. I caught it.

MC: "You throwin' rocks now? Cute."

I chucked it back like a baseball. It knocked out fifteen.

MC (thinking): "Only about... thirty-five left? Let's finish this with style."

I rocketed into the air, flames surging around my arm again.

MC: "RED... HAWK!!"

The flaming punch hit the last cluster of demons dead center. A fireball swallowed the battlefield. When it cleared, they were all down. Ash floated lazily through the wind.

MC (stretching): "Aaaand... done."

I cracked my back and looked around at the silent, smoldering battlefield.

MC: "Geez... and they thought this was enough to stop me?"

MC (grinning): "Maybe Sona'll let me take a nap after this."

I whistled and walked away casually, steam rising from my body.

MC (thinking): "I didn't even need to use my other technique Heh. Light work."

After I was done, I began to stretching.

MC: " Alright, time to head home."

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small orb, barely the size of a marble. I crushed it in my palm.

MC: "And... teleportation magic circle, activate."

A glowing blue circle flared beneath my feet.

Poof! I vanished, reappearing right at the school gates.

MC: "Ugh... Still not used to teleporting. Feels like my guts got scrambled."

But something was off. I sniffed the air. The sky was blood-red.

MC: "Wait... the sky's red? Ohhh no. Don't tell me it's THAT chapter."

After a glance around campus, I realized the signs.

MC: "Yep. This is the part where all the big shots meet—Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels."

I casually strolled toward the student council building. No rush. I already knew how this would go down.

Click.

I opened the door and stepped inside.

MC: "Heyyy guys, I'm back."

Sona turned toward me, smiling warmly.

Sona: "Welcome back, Levi."

MC: "Thanks, Prez."

My eyes scanned the room.

To my right, the infamous pervy Fallen Angel leader, Azazel, sitting like he owned the place.

To the left, Serafall Leviathan, Sona's bubbly but terrifyingly powerful older sister, waving like an anime idol.

Behind her, Rias's overpowered older brother, Sirzechs Lucifer.

And dead center, the man with literal divine presence—Michael, leader of the Angels.

MC(Thinking): " The gang's all here."

And in the corner, the one group that always seemed both annoying and cool at the same time...

MC(Thinking): "Ah, there's the ever-prideful White Dragon Emperor, Vali. What a smug bastard but... MF why is he handsome as well. Fuckkkk my lifeeee."

I quietly cried inside—because everyone in this room was a certified hottie… well, except Issei. He looked like he snuck in during a casting call for models.

Then Sona motioned toward a seat.

Sona: "Levi, take a seat. We're discussing the recent balance shifts."

I plopped down next to Issei, who looked both overwhelmed and sleepy. Asia sat beside him, and Xenovia on the other side.

MC:(thinking)"Oh right... forgot Xenovia became a devil since the whole 'God is dead' reveal."

I gave her a casual wave. She returned it with a nod. Then I caught eyes with someone else.

MC:(thinking)"...Gasper. The shy vampire femboy."

I locked eyes with him. He instantly looked away, blushing.

MC(Thinking): "Still shy as ever. Cute little guy."

The meeting dragged on.

Michael spoke with his angelic poise and god-tier monologue energy.

Michael: "In the absence of God, the Angels will continue to guide the faithful with grace and light."

MC(Thinking): "Blah blah light and hope, blah blah responsibilities. And yet..."

Something about his words ticked me off. I couldn't hold back.

MC: "Oh? Is that why you kicked Asia out?"

The room fell silent. All eyes turned to me.

Michael paused. He was clearly taken aback.

Michael: "Her Sacred Gear was unique... It held the power to heal devils and fallen. That couldn't go unchecked."

I glared at him, his eyes and mine meeting.

MC: "Unbelievable. So you're saying she deserved the exile? The torment? Because her healing hands worked on everyone?"

Asia eyes wide looked at me, not just her issei and kiba as well.

I then started to release haki, walls trembled, the floor started to crack as red arua was coming out of me.

MC: "For someone preaching light and forgiveness, you sure turned your back fast."

Even Sona looked a bit worried. Xenovia tensed up. Issei? He just blinked.

Then a loud voice broke the tension.

Azazel: "Alright alright, let's calm the hell down!"

I glared at him. My haki rising.

MC: "Don't you dare act all innocent—you had your part in this mess too. You think I don't know? You were just as involved, so don't pretend your hands are clean."

I glared at him, my anger rising throw the roof

Azazel raised both hands, then stood up and gave a deep bow to Asia.

Azazel: "Asia, I may not be the Angel leader, but I represent the Fallen. What happened to you was unjust. I apologize on behalf of my kind."

Michael then spoke as well.

Michael(Bowling): I also want to apologise."

Asia the cute angel she is began moving her hand back and forth.

Asia: "P-please... don't bow. I-It's okay! I already forgave you!"

Michael looked humbled by that.

Michael: "...Thank you, Asia. Your heart truly is pure."

MC: "Damn right it is. She deserved better."

I leaned back and stretched my arms above my head.

MC(Thinking): "Welp. That was today's episode of 'Holy Drama with a Side of Guilt.'"

Then sona looked at me with a serious look on her face.

Sona: "Levi, I understand you were angry, but they're important individuals. Please, be the bigger person and apologize."

I looked away and put my hand on my chin as I began Blickling fast and gave them a fake smile.

MC: "Right, right. Sorry for my rudeness."

I sighed then I felt a tap on my shoulder,

It was Asia, she then came close and whispered something in my ear.

Asia(whispering):"Thank you."

I looked at her and she gave me the most beautiful smile I've ever seen in my life.

MC(Crying):"What an Angle."

The talks continued. Discussions of sacred gear users, stray devils, alliance strengthening...

MC(Thinking): "I already beat up like.... Mf I lost count so let just say a lot of rogue demons last week. They could've just let me nap today."

Then Sona and rias spoke.

Rias(Bowling):" OK well this meet is now over."

Sona(Also bowling):"Thank you all of coming."

I then got up and yawned, I was about to leave until.

I felt eyes on my back I turn to see 3 people where looking at me. Like really, really looking at me.

It was Vali, Serafall, and Sirzechs—and the way their eyes lit up when they saw me, you'd think I was the last slice of cake at a demon lord's banquet.

There eyes looked at like i was some prey....scary.

Then Vali started strutting over like he was about to drop some divine prophecy—and whatever he said next hit me like a plot twist written by a drunk author: confusing and shocking all at once.

Vali:"Fight me."

MC(Flabbergasted):"...Huh?"
