Chapter 335 - Chapter 336: Allen Saves His Waifu

Chapter 336: Allen Saves His Waifu

"Trust me…"

Two security guards held Allen by the arms and dragged him out of the monitoring room.

Ellie looked visibly disappointed. She had been expecting a legitimate superpowered individual, but it turned out to be a mentally unstable one. She immediately lost interest in studying him.

"Hey, sis."

Suddenly, Allen came running back, slinging an arm around Ellie like they were old friends and said, "I've seen you in American Horror Story, to be honest, your acting's just so-so—not even as good as one of my leg hairs."

As soon as he finished, the two security guards returned, grabbed him again, and started dragging him away.

"Help! Somebody save me…"

"..."

Ellie's mouth twitched as she watched the commotion. She was debating whether she should transfer him to solitary confinement—he was clearly going to be a major headache.

BOOM!

Before she could collect her thoughts, a deafening explosion rocked the Paranormal Human Research Center, setting off a blaring alarm.

Allen, who was being taken to the holding cell, saw a hole blasted open in front of him.

More than ten masked robbers in full tactical gear stormed in and shot the security guards without hesitation.

Allen immediately raised his hands and shouted, "Thank you, heroes, for saving me!"

He cheerfully waved his arms and trotted back toward the monitoring room.

"He's just a lunatic. Focus on saving the boss."

"Split into three teams. We've got five minutes."

"Understood."

"..."

BANG!

Allen kicked open the door to the monitoring room, swaggered in, and stood before Ellie, who was hiding under the desk.

"Scared? My people are here," he said with a cocky grin.

"Shut the door! Their target is Mr. Glass!" Ellie quickly stood up, shut the door, and pulled Allen down with her under the desk, eyes glued to the surveillance feed.

"Mr. Glass?"

Allen rested his chin on his hands, calmly watching the surveillance footage.

One team of robbers moved quickly through the holding cells, checking each one until they found their target. They easily broke through the door and wheeled out a Black man in a wheelchair.

"Director Fury?!"

Allen stared at Ellie in disbelief. "He's Mr. Glass?"

"Yes."

With that confirmation, Allen's eyes lit up in realization. "I've transmigrated into the Glass movie universe!"

Glass?

A movie?

Ellie was completely lost.

Allen stroked his chin and mused, "If I'm right, I should also run into a young Professor Charles and Mystique, who's totally hot for me."

"..."

Confirmed: delusional.

Severe paranoia and delusions of grandeur.

"Hell yeah!"

With a loud cheer, Allen excitedly burst out the door.

Literally burst out the door.

Ellie watched in stunned silence as Allen ripped the door right off its hinges and walked out in dramatic fashion.

He ran out of the research center building, door still in hand, looking around for Mr. Glass and the others—but they were nowhere in sight.

BANG!

He dropped the door.

Allen stood there, confused and aimless, not sure what to do next.

"Hands in the air!"

The armed forces finally arrived. As soon as they got out of their vehicles, they surrounded Allen.

"Wait!"

Ellie came rushing out behind them and quickly explained, "He's not one of the attackers."

She flashed her credentials, and the armed officers immediately backed off, recognizing her as a high-ranking official researcher.

"Wanna know where Mr. Glass is?"

"Whatever."

In truth, the authorities had been secretly monitoring Mr. Glass's criminal network for a long time.

This "attack" was allowed to happen—because otherwise, how could a facility researching paranormal humans have zero armed guards on a normal day?

...

"David—the Immortal. Possesses the power of invincibility."

"Kevin—the Beast. Can evolve by consuming others of his kind."

Mr. Glass, aka Elijah Price, sat in his wheelchair introducing the two superpowered individuals to each other, speaking with certainty: "Your existence proves to the world that superpowers are real. I need the two of you to fight."

David and Kevin weren't fond of being manipulated. But then they noticed one of Glass's henchmen holding a girl hostage.

It was Casey.

She had once been kidnapped by Kevin while heading home with her classmates. Kevin recognized her as someone special—like him—and spared her life.

"If you don't fight, I'll kill her."

Of course, Glass knew Kevin wouldn't be fazed by that kind of threat. But his Beast personality, driven by rage and bloodlust, would definitely be interested in fighting David.

And kind-hearted David couldn't just sit by and let it happen.

Just then, both of them turned their eyes toward a strange sight in the distance.

On the open ground stood… a door?

It was slowly moving toward them, and a head kept peeking out cautiously from behind the frame.

BANG!

A gunshot rang out.

The bullet hit the center of the door.

"Ugh…"

Allen clutched his chest and shouted, "I've been shot! I'm dying!"

He staggered forward dramatically like he was auditioning for a B-movie role.

His performance was laughably exaggerated, like a background extra trying way too hard.

Then, in the next moment, Allen stood up straight, perfectly fine, and eagerly asked, "How was my performance? Didn't it have soul? Didn't I capture the desperation of a dying extra, rebelling against postmodern nihilism, revealing the hidden subtext of a man who just doesn't want to die?"

"..."

Ellie, watching from a hidden spot, could only cover her forehead in exasperation.

The lunatic had slipped away again.

The armed personnel surrounding the scene were stunned too. They honestly couldn't understand why their superior had brought a complete lunatic along.

"Kill him."

Glass had no more patience. He gave the order to his men.

He had spent years planning this operation—his chance to reveal to the world, via the internet, that superpowered people really existed.

"I suggest you calm down."

Before anyone knew what had happened, Allen's butcher knife was already at Glass's throat.

So fast!

In full view of everyone, Allen blurred like a mirage, leaving behind afterimages—no ordinary human could move like that.

"You're a superpowered individual?" Glass asked in shock.

"Obviously. I'm a blade master."

Allen tapped Glass's cheek with the flat of the knife, grinning. "A blade master who's roamed the seas and wandered the world."

Of course, in the minds of these Westerners, the closest comparison was probably a wandering swordsman. Naturally, they assumed he was some sort of martial artist trained in sword techniques.

"Let go of my waifu."

"Me?"

Allen looked at the thug holding Casey. She pointed at herself in confusion. When Allen nodded in confirmation, the thug let her go, and she walked over to him.

"You guys go ahead and fight. I'm taking my waifu home."

With that, Allen scooped Casey into one arm and hurled Glass like a sack of potatoes at the robbers.

In a panic, the robbers caught Glass, who suffered from brittle bone disease.

A blood-curdling scream followed—no one knew how many bones he broke this time.

When they turned to look for the culprit, they saw Allen speeding away in Glass's wheelchair, Casey still screaming in his lap, while he furiously spun the wheels.

The wheelchair was moving at what had to be eighty miles per hour—a miracle in human history.

"Still want to fight?" David asked, dumbfounded.

"Doesn't seem worth it anymore," Kevin replied, suddenly uninterested in beating David.

The two of them just stood there, staring blankly in the direction Allen had vanished.
