A hoarse and indifferent voice rang out.
Whoosh—
An extremely loud and clear sound of something tearing through the air echoed, as if the very fabric of space was being ripped apart—just like the sound of fireworks shooting into the sky.
It happened almost in an instant!
Bang!!
Just as Abomination was about to reach out and crush Bruce Banner, he was struck.
In that instant—
Time and space seemed to freeze.
The next moment, as if hit by some tremendous force, Abomination was sent flying and violently slammed into the building behind him.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
The residual force didn't stop—Abomination smashed through wall after wall, one after another.
It wasn't until nearly ten seconds later that the sound of walls being broken finally came to an end.
The helicopter's restraints were finally released.
General Ross roared angrily, "Go! Get us the hell out of here, now!"
"Yes, sir!"
In truth, the pilot didn't need Ross's command. He had already pulled the helicopter upward, trying to get as far away from Manhattan as possible.
Between life and death lies great terror!
That monster Abomination was simply too terrifying.
Across from the building that Abomination had crashed through—
A figure was holding a bow, slowly emerging from the shadows.
It was Blaine.
He knew things wouldn't end so easily.
"Roar!!! ROAR!!!! You little ant!!"
Sure enough, from the gaping hole that Abomination had created, an enraged roar echoed. A second later, Abomination burst out like a cannonball, eyes glowing blood-red.
And in his abdomen, a broken silver-white arrow was lodged.
That arrow had caused him immense damage. Foul-smelling green pus flowed continuously from the wound.
It shook him deeply and filled him with fury.
Just moments ago, his seemingly impenetrable defenses had withstood countless bullets and explosives—yet now he was pierced and seriously injured by a single arrow.
Abomination was fast.
But to Blaine, who had activated his [HawkEye] ability, it was still not enough.
He had clearly seen the arrow he had just fired.
He frowned slightly.
Was the +5 Elemental Bow still not strong enough?
Even with the blessing of Absolute Hit Lv.3, it still couldn't fully penetrate Abomination.
That's right—Blaine was a bit dissatisfied.
This had nothing to do with his power or the accuracy skill—it was the arrow's fault.
The arrow simply couldn't withstand such a powerful force. Otherwise, with Blaine's strength and Absolute Hit, he would have been able to pierce through Abomination completely.
Instead, the arrow broke after breaching Abomination's surface defense and couldn't penetrate further. The residual force was what sent Abomination flying and crashing through countless walls.
Green, revolting pus streamed from Abomination's wound, but it didn't hinder him at all. With a stomp of his feet, he turned into a dark blur, charging at Blaine.
Abomination was now super angry. Extremely, extremely, extremely angry.
This was the first time he had ever been truly injured.
If Abomination had a cheat-like ability like the Hulk, he might have been able to level New York with a single punch—but sadly, he didn't.
Facing the charging monster, Blaine remained completely unbothered. He lightly leapt off the tall building.
At the same time, he distractedly opened his system panel.
Upgrade Elemental Bow!
The +5 Elemental Bow just wasn't enough anymore.
That last shot hadn't used his full power, and the fact that the arrow broke was proof that the arrows formed by a +5 Elemental Bow couldn't handle his current strength. If he used full force now, the arrow might just shatter on release—not even needing to hit a critical spot.
He hadn't paid much attention to this problem before—
Because he had only recently powered up and hadn't faced any enemies worthy of his full strength.
Now, against Abomination, it reminded him.
Although even Abomination wasn't worthy of him using his full power to fire a true elemental arrow—
That last shot had just been a normal one, not an elemental arrow.
Blaine temporarily put Abomination aside.
That's why he appeared distracted in battle.
After some thought, he decided to upgrade the Elemental Bow to +10.
+6 cost: 1,000,000
+7 cost: 1,000,000
+8 cost: 1,000,000
+9 cost: 1,000,000
+10 cost: 1,000,000
Unlike the previous messy price increments, after reaching +5, each level cost a flat million.
For +11, Blaine noticed the price tripled to 3 million—and it remained 3 million up to +15…
By that logic, every five levels marked a new tier.
But Blaine wasn't interested in +11 for now.
Upgrading to +10 would suffice.
In an instant, the bow was upgraded to +10.
Original cost: 5 million.
With his C-rank Hunter's 10% discount: 4.5 million.
He spent another 4.5 million, leaving him with 73.3 million remaining.
It sounds long, but the entire upgrade only took a few seconds.
Poor Abomination—if he knew Blaine was casually upgrading gear mid-battle without even caring about him, he might've bled from all seven orifices and died on the spot.
Too bad he didn't know.
Bang—
Because Blaine had leapt down, Abomination lunged and missed, crashing headlong into the building. But he didn't care—he grabbed the walls with both hands and, with a few loud bangs, forcibly stopped his momentum and kicked off again.
He came crashing down toward the ground at lightning speed.
Blaine just chuckled lightly, then dove into the shadow of the building below.
Abomination missed again.
He slammed into the ground. Unable to withstand the massive impact, the ground cracked apart. With an explosion like a shell going off, the area around Abomination sank several meters, rocks flying and dust rising.
