Chapter 54 - Shot Down

Abomination was already covered in wounds.

Although the self-healing factor within its body was still working to repair the injuries, it simply couldn't keep up with the speed at which Blaine was creating them.

Whoosh!

With a heavy punch, Abomination was sent flying.

Blaine slowly exhaled a breath of foul air and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Refreshing!

Truly refreshing!

This was the most satisfying fight he had ever experienced!

There was a reason Blaine didn't immediately use his +10 enhanced Elemental Bow.

The reason was simple — he wanted a good, intense brawl!

A powerful opponent who couldn't hurt him and had a strong healing ability — wasn't that the perfect training dummy?

At this moment, Abomination felt both aggrieved and stifled. It wanted to cry, but couldn't.

Ever since becoming a monster and gaining such overwhelming strength, this was the first time it had been beaten so badly.

If it knew that Blaine didn't even take it seriously, and was only using it as a training target, it might just explode with rage and go into a frenzy.

After sending Abomination flying with a punch...

Blaine originally thought the creature would come back for more.

But reality proved him wrong.

Abomination wasn't like the simple-minded Hulk — it retained Blonsky's intelligence.

It didn't enjoy getting beaten up. Knowing it couldn't win, it wasn't going to charge in again.

So, without resisting, it used the force of Blaine's punch to launch itself away, completely ignoring its injuries as it fled.

In an instant, it had escaped a full kilometer.

Watching the satellite footage, Nick Fury frowned.

"Natasha, call Blaine."

"This mission is to eliminate the monster — not to let it get away!"

Nick Fury's expression was grim.

Although Abomination had been dominated by Blaine during the fight, it had also demonstrated terrifying power and healing abilities.

Even severed limbs could regenerate in moments. It shrugged off missiles and heavy firepower.

This kind of monster absolutely could not be allowed to escape!

If it got away, it would be like a walking nuclear bomb rampaging through the United States — possibly even more dangerous than an actual nuke!

The public would tear the politicians apart, and the politicians would, in turn, tear him apart.

"Understood."

Natasha tapped her phone and immediately contacted Blaine.

As Blaine prepared to pursue Abomination, a ringtone rang in his ear.

Their communication was routed directly through the system, not a regular phone.

He answered the call.

"What is it?"

"Blaine, the task we commissioned is to eliminate the monster, not to chase it away. We hope you'll complete the mission quickly."

"Got it."

Blaine narrowed his eyes slightly and hung up.

Even if he thought Abomination couldn't escape, others clearly weren't as confident.

In that case, it was time to finish this.

The earlier fight had been satisfying enough already.

Blaine leaped into the air, running up the vertical side of a skyscraper to its rooftop hundreds of meters high.

Then, he activated HawkEye and entered God Mode.

In that moment, his eyes became incredibly sharp.

He quickly locked onto Abomination's figure.

Abomination was fast — in just a few seconds, it had already covered two kilometers.

But even so, Blaine didn't give chase.

Instead, he pulled out his bow, aimed into the distance, and slowly drew the bowstring.

This action puzzled Nick Fury and Natasha.

Why wasn't he pursuing?

From the satellite footage, the monster was already far away. They didn't believe any ordinary bow could cover several kilometers and take down such a terrifying creature.

But before they could finish their thoughts...

Two streams of flame ignited on the Elemental Bow. The air around Blaine suddenly grew heavy, the temperature soared, and space began to distort as if being scorched dry.

The flames converged at the center of the bow, forming a burning black arrow.

Blaine smiled slightly and let go.

Whoosh—

Nick Fury stood up in shock, pupils contracting.

They saw the arrow shoot out at an incredible speed, tearing through the air across more than a kilometer in an instant. Black flames trailed behind it, leaving a scorched path. From above, the surrounding airflow even formed a visible V-shape. The arrow blazed forward unstoppably, splitting everything in its path. The sonic boom echoed through the sky, and the space itself seemed on the verge of tearing apart. It was terrifying to behold.

Abomination didn't even have time to react.

The flaming arrow pierced through thousands of meters and struck it straight in the heart from behind.

In that instant...

Its pupils widened in shock. Its running came to a sudden halt, and it crashed to the ground, carving a trench into the earth.

But that wasn't the end.

Pffft!

The elemental arrow slowly vanished, turning into a mass of black flames that clung to Abomination.

The unimaginably high temperature instantly turned it into a burning figure.

The pain was excruciating. Abomination howled, rolling and smashing itself into anything nearby in a desperate attempt to extinguish the flames.

But the black fire clung to it like a parasite, only growing stronger, lighting up the night sky.

It even made a sizzling sound like burning oil.

"AHHHHHH!!!"

Abomination screamed in agony. The vicious look in its eyes was gone, replaced by pure pain. The over-two-meter-tall flaming monster dashed toward the nearby river. The concrete beneath its feet was charred black, and within ten meters, nothing could survive.

But the water was close.

Splash! It plunged into the river.

But instead of hearing the expected hiss as the flames met water, there was only the sound of a massive splash.

Rumble—

"AHH!!"

Even underwater, Abomination howled in pain, thrashing and stirring up massive waves.

Even submerged, the black flames didn't go out. They burned on furiously, as if they wouldn't stop until Abomination was dead.

Like a deathly flame from hell — it scorched not the flesh, but the soul.
