Chapter 272 - Clint Barton

"I didn't kill your father."

"Then why are you running?!"

Suddenly, Black Panther raised his leg and kicked Bucky upward with brutal force. With the enhancement of his suit, Black Panther's strength far exceeded that of an ordinary person.

Black Panther spun into a full 360-degree roundhouse kick and struck Bucky again while he was still in midair, sending him flying violently.

After crashing into a wooden air cargo crate, Bucky sat up against the ground, his head spinning.

Looking at Black Panther, it was clear he intended to kill Bucky and leave him no chance at all. He extended his palm, and five sharp claws shot out from his fingers, like a real panther unsheathing its talons.

Without hesitation, T'Challa mirrored Bucky's earlier move and lunged for his neck.

Suddenly, another red light appeared. Scarlet Witch's chaos magic wrapped around Black Panther's claws once more, stopping him completely no matter how hard he pushed, leaving him unable to advance even an inch.

"Mmm—uhhhhhhh!"

Not only that, Scarlet Witch twisted her body with difficulty and, exerting full control over her chaos magic, hurled Black Panther away again, smashing him straight into a truck.

Whoosh…

Little Spider-Man, who had rushed over to save Black Panther, arrived a moment too late.

"Hey!"

Captain America flung his shield with tremendous force, slicing through the web line little Spider-Man was swinging on with incredible precision. Just as he was about to soar forward, little Spider-Man had to release the web and suddenly dropped from the sky.

"Hey, that thing of yours defies the laws of physics."

After steadying himself, little Spider-Man watched as Captain America recalled the shield and strapped it back onto his arm, asking the question with genuine curiosity. He wasn't treating Captain America like an enemy at all.

"Kid, there are a lot of things you don't understand here…"

Facing little Spider-Man, one of the most talkative heroes in Marvel, Captain America could only look helpless.

"Mr. Stark said you'd say that."

Little Spider-Man shot back. When it came to talking, he wasn't afraid of anyone except Tony.

As soon as he finished speaking, little Spider-Man took advantage of Captain America's momentary distraction and fired a web instantly. His webbing was made of ultra-high-strength material—nearly impossible to melt with fire and extremely difficult to cut.

Little Spider-Man was clever. He directly glued the web to Captain America's shield.

Captain America thought little Spider-Man was trying to steal it. He was proven completely wrong in the very next second.

In the next instant, Captain America's legs were stuck to the ground.

With a hard yank, little Spider-Man pulled, and Captain America couldn't keep his balance, collapsing straight down. It wasn't over yet. As Captain America hit the ground, little Spider-Man continued pulling the web, causing Captain America's body to slide uncontrollably toward him.

One… two…

Just as Captain America was about to collide with him, little Spider-Man lunged forward and delivered a powerful kick, sending Captain America flying. Even the shield was knocked out of his hand and skidded away.

"Mr. Stark also told me to attack your legs."

Captain America got up without responding, his eyes locked on the shield as he rushed forward to retrieve it.

Whoosh…

Two more webs shot out, tangling Captain America and just barely missing his reaching hand. Little Spider-Man pulled on the webbing with all his strength, trying to drag him back.

But Captain America's strength was exceptional. He grabbed the webbing and violently hurled little Spider-Man away.

In the air, Falcon was being relentlessly chased by Tony. He darted back and forth as Iron Man fired missiles behind him without mercy, trying to shoot him down.

"Hey, Clint, help me deal with him!"

After all, Falcon relied entirely on equipment. No matter how advanced his carbon-fiber wings were, they couldn't compare to Tony's titanium-alloy armor. Left with no choice, he called for support.

"Alright. Are your feet secured?"

On the ground, Hawkeye nocked an arrow. Without Blaine's Absolute Hit ability, he had to aim manually. Against Tony's high-speed aerial movement, even for an elite agent like him, perfect accuracy was far from guaranteed.

Hawkeye kept one eye on Tony and the other on the arrow, and his words seemed to be directed at it.

"I'm fine, I'm fine, archer man!"

A voice suddenly came from the arrow. It was Ant-Man in his shrunken form, clinging awkwardly to it and ready to pull a sneaky move.

"Shoot it already, shoot it already."

Scott urged impatiently.

Whoosh…

As Tony chased Falcon, his system suddenly issued a danger alert. He halted midair and scanned his surroundings—

The arrow arrived in an instant. Just as it was about to hit Tony, it split apart violently. One arrow became five, each tipped with a miniature explosive.

BOOM...

BOOM...

Tony's system automatically tracked the attack. He raised his palm, and the repulsor precisely destroyed each arrow. But in a blind spot he failed to notice, Scott rolled like a lazy donkey, slipping along Tony's raised armored arm and crawling straight into the Mark armor without Tony realizing it.

"Interesting. That arrow is really something."

The explosions caught Blaine's attention.

Watching Hawkeye's move, Blaine had to admit it was impressive. Although Blaine himself was also a master archer, in his view, using a bow was simply a matter of timing the shot correctly.

That was why he had always believed that, after acquiring the Absolute Hit skill, his archery had reached its peak.

But that wasn't entirely true. A true master archer wasn't defined solely by accuracy. Sometimes, it was necessary to miss deliberately—to aim east and strike west. An arrow's power wasn't always about being stronger. Although the saying goes that overwhelming force can break anything, there were situations where finesse mattered more.

"Splitting arrow… hmm, interesting."

Blaine had always focused on elemental arrows and had nearly overlooked the advantages of ordinary arrows. Now, it was clear that each had its strengths. The method and the situation determined which was superior.

Looking at Hawkeye's splitting arrow, another idea sparked in Blaine's mind. What if a denser material were used, combined with magic-drawing techniques to layer multiple magic circles?

Or placing multiple arrows within a single arrow, or stacking several elements onto one. Would the result be simple addition, or exponential power?

On the other side of the battlefield, little Spider-Man stood back up and repeated his earlier move.

The web shot out again and stuck to Captain America's shield. Little Spider-Man once more tried to seize it. Perhaps he believed that Captain America's combat effectiveness depended entirely on that shield...
