Chapter 3 - Enter Axel!

"I honestly don't know how to explain this, but".

"Just 1 hour into this new world, a voice in my head told me to go southwest, and that'll end up in a city called Axel".

"Even though I swore I'd kill no other person, it'll be hard with so many of them around me".

"I need to learn to love them to see if this world can be more beautiful than the one I was in previously".

"Considering how isekai novels usually work, I have to go to a guild and get an adventurer card or license or something, I don't know, to be honest".

"Even worse, on my way through the forest toward axel, i bumped into the strangest girl who talks way too much, she's already got a suspicious eye on me for crying out loud!"

"She's even royal at the kingdom I'm heading to, so now I'm traveling with an annoying spoiled rich girl to a city she basically controls".

Blank thinks this to himself, as he walks up this ominous and muddy forest, his and Harmony's boots covered in muck and dirt.

"Seeing how you're dressed, I can already tell you're not from around here, but this is the main capital for us humans, so where do you come from?"

She walks one at a time with long steps, her hands holding together, her fingers wiggling as they move on.

"Well, let's just say from a place far, far away".

He speaks out, keeping a secret, not wanting anyone to know he came from another world, diverting the attention to him would only increase his hatred for humans.

"You're not a demi-human, are you, or any other beast?"

She now looks up at him, smiling brightly.

"Why do you ask?"

His curiosity sparks quite a bit, his eyes diverting to hers, his face drooping.

"Nothing, it's just if you were, I'd have to cut you up to itty bitty pieces".

She says this with such a playful voice and smile, her eyes sly as she speaks.

"I assure you I'm human, unfortunately".

He speaks out of spite, looking forward once again.

"Unfortunately? Does he perhaps not like the fact that he was born human?".

"You shouldn't be ashamed, even if you don't like being human, at least you're better than the mutts".

She nudges his arm, which agitates him slightly.

"yeah..."

He speaks awkwardly, not answering honestly, and not wanting to attract any more attention from this girl.

"So, considering how you're treating the other races, do humans have an ongoing war or something?"

He now asks her, the sunlight beginning to creep through the forest branches.

"No, i kind of just fucking hate them to be honest"

"Why does she say this so casually? Isn't she supposed to be royal? She has no formalities".

Blanks' thoughts dawn on him, questioning if she's a fraud or the real deal.

"Is that why you killed that wolf-man earlier?".

He asks her, the leaves of the forest beginning to blow his cloak around in a gentle gust of wind.

"Absolutely, all nations must learn that humans are superior in any way."

She puffs her chest out, grabbing her hips, before jogging to catch up to Blank.

"Great, so I'm stuck with a lunatic of a woman."

He thinks to himself, his eyes growing cold from annoyance.

"We're nearly here, look ahead of us!"

She yells out, running out to the ends of the forest.

Blank steps through the heavy, long grass, crunching under his feet as he moves the branches out of his way.

He stares across the sight of it, the high walls of this large kingdom, stretching as far as he can currently could see on both ends.

The walls stretch high too, towers and doors there, with guards in shining iron armour, holding bows and swords, conversing with each other and holding their post.

And a bridge gaping in front of them, with a massive tower gate widened open for the both of them.

"So this is Axel?"

He talks to himself in amazement, he's never seen kingdoms like this, because this type of kingdom existed back in the 1900's back in his world, a time where he wasn't around.

"Okay, Blank, this is where we say goodbye, but I hope to see you sooner rather, after all, you've piqued my interest far more than anyone has this past year".

She yells in a cheeky smirk, before speeding off in a dash, before he knew it, she had already run into the city before he could blink.

"And I hope I never have to lay eyes on you again, annoying brat".

He mutters ungratefully to himself, walking across the bridge and into Axel, a national kingdom where multiple races like humans and demi-humans inhabit.

At first glance he noticed it, the amount of houses, cafes stores and buildings around him, the streets packed with smiles and cheers.

Even as he walked around the streets, he noticed colored flags spread around, as if a festival was on the rise, even looking back at dark alleyways, where suspicious activity was on the constant rise.

He walked these streets full of cheers, equipping his bone scraped mask once more, looking at every corner for a massive building that could be recognised as the adventurers' guild.

Before he knew it, he found it, a large building of brick and stone, flags on the tower sides holding some sort of sword crest with a snake, even a gigantic striped wooden sign hovering above it with the words "adventurers guild".

"I think I'm starting to enjoy this already, and it's only been a few hours".

"Thank you, Angela".

His eyes beaming at the sign with a faint smile under his mask, as he prepares to step through the double wooden entrance door.
