Chapter 4 - CHAPTER THREE

"Thalia!" She called out to her sister while Jenny was preparing food.

"Sis!" This was her response as she stepped out of their room, carrying a bag, because today was the day of her camping trip at school.

"Come on, you might be late and miss your school bus." She calls out to her in the morning; she is the one who prepares the table because their older brother still has work. Her class is still a long way off, so she took care of her younger sister first.

"It's preferable if I fall behind on the bus."

Jenny looked at her to see if she was joking, but she knew Thalia didn't like to joke around; she was always serious. Jenny simply shook her head and lightly tapped Thalia's head.

"Eat already. I'll just call our youngest brother." She immediately left her sister at the table.

While heading to her youngest brother's room, she suddenly had a premonition of the images that would happen. This is not for her, but she sees Thalia.

She stopped walking for a while.

Thalia whispered in her mind.

In her premonition, she saw Thalia walking down a long concrete road; she saw two women walking with her.

This creature is not a human. She gasped; it was a soul. She even saw it walking towards the forest. Jenny was startled when a woman suddenly turned around, her face covered in blood as if she were smiling at her.

Her premonition vanished immediately; she was startled by what she saw, and with the smile of a soul, she broke into a sticky sweat, first catching her breath.

It's almost time for Thalia to leave! You only show yourself to me like this now! She angrily muttered in her mind.

Jenny doesn't reveal what she sees in the future; instead, she avoids using what she sees. She wants to live a quiet life and not have her normal life disrupted, which she is currently enjoying.

Jenny is still afraid of the premonitions she sees because she is not yet accustomed to having this kind of ability.

"Sis?" called their youngest, Greg. "What are you doing there?" She was taken aback by the innocent question from their youngest, who was only seven years old.

Suddenly, everything she was thinking vanished. She first calmed her mind; she recovered from the shock she saw. She just smiled at Greg.

"Nothing; you're already awake. Shall we eat first?" Jenny asked her younger brother.

He simply nodded at her. They immediately returned to the table where her sister was waiting.

She saw Thalia quietly eating at the table, waiting for the two of them to return so they could join her. She was scared again about what would happen during the camping trip.

If only her premonition had come earlier, she would have had an excuse for her brother; she just calmed her fear.

Calm down, Jenny. She thought to herself back then.

"Sis, why? Do you have a problem?" Thalia suddenly asked her.

"Nothing, why?" She asked Thalia back while busy serving food for Greg.

"Ah, I noticed that you seem restless today." Thalia said to her, "I'm worried."

Her sister had already noticed his anxious face. "Nothing, I'm just worried about something right now." She excused herself while saying it.

Thalia just nodded at her. "I know you can handle that, you of all people." She even smiled at her.

She just smiled back at her sister.

"I'll wash your dishes; go ahead so the school bus doesn't leave you behind." She said this to her, noticing that she had finished eating and was cleaning up after herself.

Thalia just scratched her head in response. "Fine," that's all she heard.

"Sis Ta, when are you coming home?" Greg asked Thalia.

Jenny only saw Thalia smile at Greg. "Big Sister will only be away for three days; I'm not going to stay long." They were responding to their youngest child's inquiry.

Greg just nodded. "Sister, be careful there." She saw Greg hugging Thalia.

"Thank you, Greg."

"Go ahead, I'll take care of it; I'll still drop the kid off at school." Jenny said.

"Alright." She said to her politely. "I'm leaving." Thalia said goodbye.

"Thalia." Suddenly, she called out.

Thalia looked at her and waited to hear what she was saying.

"Be careful there." That's all she could say, based on the negative things he was seeing about Thalia now.

It nodded again and followed her sister, waiting for a ride outside the house. Because it was still early, not many vehicles were passing by, so it would take a while.

Suddenly, a vehicle stopped.

"Good thing I caught you. Come on," said Ruth, Thalia's classmate. "Good morning, Jenny." Ruth greeted her and noticed her.

She then just smiled. "Good morning."

Jenny had another premonition.

She saw Ruth walking alone on the dark road, crying and asking for help; she was running barefoot. Two men with their faces hidden were following her.

She heard the sound of a gunshot.

"Sis?" That was the only voice Thalia could hear.

She started sweating again at that time. "Do you feel unwell?" Thalia inquired with concern.

She rubbed his forehead. She shook her head and then looked at Ruth.

Ruth, wearing her uniform, bathed in her blood, and lifeless, astounded her.

"Sis, just rest now." That's all, Thalia, who was worried about her, said.

"Ruth, be careful; never ever go out of the camp alone at night." Jenny exclaimed and held her head, which suddenly hurt.

They exchanged glances with Thalia.

"Y---yes, Jenny, come on, Thalia."

Thalia immediately got into their car, Ruth's, back then.

"Big Sis? Why does it seem like there's a woman following them, big sis Thalia?" The youngest, who was quietly observing, asked.

She looked at her younger brother.

"Then, I saw a dark-skinned man."

Jenny's hair stood on end at what her younger sibling was saying now. What she saw in Ruth, along with the clock hanging in their tent, foreshadowed what was about to transpire.

My God, I hope not. Her thoughts were filled with prayer.

She looked at his younger sibling. Jenny was puzzled by what his younger brother was saying.

Does my younger brother have a sixth sense? It is said that children may have a strong sixth sense. She thought for a while.

She tried to forget what she saw in the premonition and what she heard from her brother today, but she was still very anxious; her intuition as a woman was still strong.

I'll just remind Thalia later to accompany Ruth wherever she goes. She thought to herself.

She noticed that Greg held onto her tightly and suddenly hid behind her.

"Sis, let's go inside." Greg said while pulling her sleeves.

Jenny couldn't understand his brother's behavior. She looked at the house in front of her.

She didn't say anything—just went back inside their house. She was aware of the abandoned status of the house across from theirs. Greg is afraid of that house. She sometimes recounts seeing a headless woman walking. She ignored those, reasoning that his younger brother's imagination was just too vivid.

Jenny helped Greg get ready so she could get to school right away. She will also go in early. Their older brother caught up with them. He went straight to his room to rest.

She has etched in her mind the events that lie ahead. She shivers at what she sees in her premonition, especially since Thalia is leaving now.

She is becoming paranoid again because of an ability she never asked for her entire life. She just wants her life to be normal. If she gets used to it always happening, she might not be able to return to her old life.

Jenny knew that when she was young, she still blamed herself for not stopping her parents from leaving back then. She believed she could have prevented the accident that caused her parents' death.

She just clenched her fists. Now, if only she could do something for Ruth, she wouldn't let her go.

The image of her sister Thalia walking alone with a soul still plays in her mind. She has already massaged her temples because they were hurting from overthinking.
