Chapter 104 - Epilogue – Shadows of the Past

Eight years had passed since the town of Regondo found peace—no murders, no crimes—only the darkness as a silent witness to whatever happened in secret.

Vince, Charles, and the other members of the organization had been freed. The truth had come to light, the case involving the Fuego family was resolved, and the warehouse and huts had been burned down to prevent any further greed.

Everyone had begun building better lives for themselves, working hard for a future they could be proud of. There had been no more mysterious journeys since those events long ago.

Thalia had just returned to the Philippines from an overseas trip with her team. Exhausted from work, she fell into a deep sleep.

Somewhere, two women were talking.

"Are you done with what I asked you to do?" one woman asked, facing away as she looked out the window at the busy streets below.

Her companion sighed. "Yeah. Don't worry—the operation earlier wasn't a failure."

The first woman nodded and turned to face her. She was clearly from a wealthy family—well-dressed, with smooth, flawless skin.

"We need to execute our plan, Tricia," she said.

Thalia, still in her dream, felt her heart race.

"I know you want revenge," Tricia replied with a sweet smile. "Slowly but surely."

"They'll regret this… They'll regret not killing us."

"By the way," Tricia added, "the good news is that little by little, our transactions are starting to penetrate that place. We'll get back at them."

Images flashed in Thalia's mind—visions from eight years ago. A woman crying, clutching a cold, lifeless body.

"You will pay… you will pay!" the woman whispered through her tears.

Darkness engulfed the scene. Thalia saw two wandering souls, drifting in the void.

"We will return to that place, Isabel. We'll play with them again. Just don't get impatient—we're about to see them very soon."

Thalia jolted awake, gasping for breath.

Isabel… Tricia.

She remembered how, upon her release, she had been given the chance to go abroad—along with her cousin, Tricia.

Don't tell me… She didn't finish the thought, but deep inside, she knew she was right.

Isabel was reviving the organization they had destroyed.

She rubbed her forehead and opened her eyes again. It was still dawn. Unable to fall back asleep, she went to the kitchen for some water and found her younger brother there.

"Greg?" she called softly.

"Sis," he replied quickly.

Another vision gripped her—Greg, caught in the chaos to come, alongside a young man she didn't recognize. Her chest tightened.

"Sister… Do you see it again?" Greg asked.

She froze, caught off guard.

"Why aren't you asleep yet?" she asked instead.

Greg, now fifteen and in ninth grade, shrugged. "I'm just finishing a project."

"You need to sleep. Don't you have class tomorrow?"

"No class today. That's why I'm finishing this performance task."

She nodded. "Go sleep first."

He obeyed without protest.

Thalia still couldn't shake the thought—history repeating itself, danger circling back.

Does Ericka see the pattern too?

Her older brother, Felix, entered. "Why are you up so early?"

"Jet lag," she replied.

He studied her for a moment. "You're thinking deeply about something."

She shook her head, unwilling to talk about her dream.

Felix sighed, poured himself coffee, and sat beside her.

"Brother, I'm going on a journey again," she finally said.

He didn't look surprised. "Is this about Tricia and Isabel?"

She was startled. "You already know?"

Felix smiled faintly. "No. But I know they'll come back for revenge."

"Why? How long will this cycle of revenge last?" she asked desperately.

"That's how the world works, Thalia. People are driven by emotions. We're human… and her brother was killed in the encounter," he said simply.

"To the point of reviving the organization?" Thalia shook her head.

Her phone rang. She frowned at the caller ID.

"Ericka?"

She answered quickly.

"Thalia, this isn't good. They're coming back."

"I know. I just had a vision earlier," Thalia replied.

"Many will be affected—Greg included. And… someone else I can't place. I don't know why this is coming back to me now," Ericka said, worry in her voice.

"I know… I don't know what to do anymore."

"I've seen Isabel has another companion—someone with abilities like ours," Ericka revealed.

Thalia frowned. "Who?"

"I don't know."

"Just take a break for now. You still have work, right?"

"I'll update you again. You let me know what you see too."

The call ended.

Felix remained calm. "Let's see where fate takes us."

Thalia sat in silence, unsure of what dangers lay ahead but aware that the future held storms.

Felix touched her arm gently. "We've got a lot to help each other with."

Thalia smiled faintly at his words.

E.N.D.
