I woke up with a start.
I was at home, in my bedroom, lying on my bed. I sat up abruptly, my breath hitching. Sofia...?
Shit, had it all been a fucking dream?
I ran a hand over my face, trying to calm myself beside me, on the nightstand, I saw a strange clock.
I touched it, and immediately a stab of pain shot through my head, as if someone was hitting me with a hammer.
A few seconds passed, maybe twenty, when I finally looked up and turned my head towards the window....
-AHHHHH!" I cried out, startled.
There, standing there, was a humanoid figure watching me.
-Quiet. You're making too much noise," said a female voice.
I was paralyzed with fear. The figure took a step forward, allowing me to see her more clearly. Its appearance was ethereal, almost humanoid in the shape of a monster.
-Don't be surprised," she continued, "I introduce myself: I am the Sea Wraith. That watch you have... it's mine, or rather, one of mine. The others are in storage.
My face remained expressionless. Not because I wasn't shocked, but because a part of me had already considered the possibility of such a thing.
With a slight smile, I responded:
-I'm not surprised, Espectra Sea. Someone had to have done this. It's either a government experiment... or a being superior to humans.
Sea tilted her head slightly, her expression intrigued.

The Wraith sighed.

A heavy silence settled in the room before she added in a firm voice:

-Dead? -I murmured, feeling a tightness in my chest.

I clenched my fists in rage, feeling despair mingle with anger, turned sharply to the mirror.
My reflection looked back at me...but something was wrong.
My hair was snow white but most disturbing was my left eye: it had turned a deep shade of red, a lone tear rolled down my cheek.
The Sea Wraith watched my reaction with a faint smile.
-You wear the special Wraith eye, though in your case, it is only aesthetic.
I didn't know if that should reassure me or worry me more.
-Don't worry," he continued in a lighter tone, "I'll help you get your revenge, but in exchange....
He folded his arms, tilting his head slightly with a playful twinkle in his eye.
-I want you to give me lots of coffee .... ...it's my favorite drink on Earth.
I was silent, processing everything. She was dead. Sofia was dead. But now I had a second chance...
-Revenge, eh? -I whispered, looking at my reflection again.
The red eye glowed for an instant.
- Now I'm going coffee," I said, walking to the kitchen and closing the door.

I opened the door in a thermos I had my coffee for me alone and in a cup for Sea , I left it on a table for her to grab and drink , I sat in my chair , turning on the computer .

I woke up, got out of bed and went to the living room, turning on the television without much interest. However, what I saw on the news left me silent.

Today was the day my real plan would begin.
