Chapter 16 - The Hall of Void Destruction

The Destruction Dao Lord has walked the path for countless years, his existence predating even the rise of the major dark sects in this region. Before the massive gathering of evil cultivators, he had already made his mark.

The Destruction Dao Lord is known for his erratic temperament and extraordinary martial prowess. His cultivation of the "Destruction Dao," a technique capable of obliterating all other powers and physical forms, is particularly terrifying.

According to You Wuxie, the location of Youming Peak, nestled in the snowy domain and bordering the Blade Domain, has attracted a large number of dark cultivators. Despite its proximity to the Blade Domain, which has never interfered, the primary reason lies in the strange and powerful Destruction Dao technique of the Destruction Dao Lord. Even the Blade Domain's Holy Master holds deep reservations about him.

All martial practitioners typically cultivate protective inner techniques that render their bodies as hard as steel. However, the Destruction Dao Lord's methods are the very antithesis of these techniques, making him a dreadful adversary.

As the surrounding dark cultivators dispersed, only Nalan Ruoyong and You Wuxie remained standing, their faces ashen and grim. What was supposed to be a clash of pride had inadvertently drawn the attention of the Destruction Dao Lord, a consequence neither of them wished for.

"Hmph!" Nalan Ruoyong snorted coldly, not even glancing back as he hurried towards the direction of the messenger. You Wuxie's expression darkened as he stared coldly at Nalan Ruoyong's retreating figure, muttering angrily, "This is all your fault."

Fengyun Wuji laughed loudly. "Me? You were the one who made the first move. Why blame me? I think you're just afraid of this Destruction Dao Lord and are looking to balance things out by putting the blame on me."

You Wuxie, feeling utterly helpless, realized that this man was too clever to deceive. Even when he wanted to vent or find an excuse, it was impossible.

Suddenly, a flush spread across You Wuxie's face. His expression shifted, and he quickly sat down on the ground. Thick mist erupted from his body.

With a snap, You Wuxie flicked his finger, sending a sword Qi shooting out, piercing the ice beneath him, forming a three-foot-wide hole whose depth was unknown. With another flick, another sword Qi shot out, followed by a series of continuous sword energies from his body.

A sense of foreboding washed over You Wuxie. Turning around, he furiously shouted, "What kind of martial art are you using? It's so bizarre!" Despite his millions of years of cultivation, You Wuxie wasn't afraid of such weak sword energies, but these energies were strange. They resided within his body and were troublesome to deal with, especially since Fengyun Wuji's weak power made them even harder to dispel. In his haste to deal with Nalan Ruoyong earlier, he hadn't noticed these sword energies invading his body, resulting in the current predicament.

The real issue was that You Wuxie had thought that after ten flicks, the sword Qi inside would be completely dispelled. But instead, with each flick, more and more sword energies erupted within him.

"What's going on?" Fengyun Wuji asked, clearly puzzled. Given You Wuxie's strength, this shouldn't be a serious problem for him. He shook his head and continued, "It's the Earth Demon Sword. That's what I just used. Didn't I tell you?"

"The Earth Demon Sword? No wonder!" You Wuxie's expression darkened, and he quickly leaped into the air. Sure enough, the sword energies inside him began to dissipate. The Earth Demon Sword technique continuously generates sword Qi inside anyone it strikes, as long as the victim is in contact with the ground.

Closing his eyes, You Wuxie sank into his inner consciousness. After a moment, a crystal-clear ice shard appeared on the tip of his middle finger. The round shard spun rapidly as he focused.

With a loud shout, You Wuxie flicked his finger, sending the shard falling to the bottom of the peak. A moment later, the sound of an explosive ice wave echoed from below.

"Hmph, I'll let you off this time, but don't think it will happen again. Because of you, I've destroyed so many of my fellow cultivators' residences, which will no doubt attract powerful enemies. We can't stay here any longer. Come with me to meet the Destruction Dao Lord, and we'll make further plans after that."

Fengyun Wuji glanced back at the residence he had stayed in for an unknown amount of time. He picked up a small booklet from the ground, stashed it in his robe, and followed You Wuxie into the air. From the power of the Ice Fire Finger You Wuxie had just used, and Nalan Ruoyong's wary expression, it was clear that the Ice Fire Finger was an incredibly troublesome top-tier martial art.

As they traveled through countless ice peaks and snow-covered cliffs, they reached the easternmost edge of Youming Peak, where a massive hall made of dark iron stood suspended in the void. This hall, over a hundred meters high, was adorned with intricate, incomprehensible carvings on its exterior, exuding a chilling aura that made anyone who looked at it shudder. The space around the hall was empty, with no guards in sight. Beneath it, a massive ice block nearly as large as an island floated, tethered by a thick iron chain to a towering ice mountain below.

Fengyun Wuji couldn't help but murmur in astonishment. "The Destruction Dao Lord is truly extravagant. To have suspended this hall, weighing at least tens of thousands of tons, in mid-air with his own strength... after so many millennia, his power must be terrifying."

When they were less than a thousand meters from the hall, Fengyun Wuji began to feel something was wrong. The air in front of him felt as if it had turned to solid stone, and his body seemed to be weighed down by an immense pressure, pulling him downward. Looking up at You Wuxie, he saw that the man seemed unaffected, walking forward as if nothing were wrong.

With a gritted teeth, Fengyun Wuji forced himself to continue moving. A crack sounded from his shoulder blade as a massive, boundless pressure surged into his heart. In that instant, the space surrounding the dark iron hall transformed into a suffocating, ghostly realm filled with an overwhelming sense of malice, making it nearly impossible to see.

The already colossal hall seemed to grow even larger as Fengyun Wuji took a step forward, as if threatening to cover the entire sky.

"Don't move! The pressure the Destruction Dao Lord inadvertently releases is far beyond what someone of your cultivation level can withstand. Retreat quickly!" You Wuxie's anxious voice rang out.

"This is what it means to be a true master?" Fengyun Wuji thought, his heart finally understanding. Even You Wuxie, with his immense strength, could not simply have caused his shoulder blade to crack with a casual release of pressure.

He closed his eyes slowly. As his eyelids fluttered shut, the oppressive black mist vanished, leaving only the empty vastness of an icy world. In the center of this world, a fierce, brutal aura coiled around a tall figure, barely visible. All of the malevolent energy came from this figure, who was the master of this space. The stillness of this space was unsettling, the figure having sat in meditation for countless millennia, filled with rage.

Hundreds of meters away, You Wuxie was kneeling on the ground, trembling violently. Though the Destruction Dao Lord had existed for an unimaginably long time, few had ever seen his true form. It wasn't due to a lack of curiosity, but because the immense pressure of the Destruction Dao Lord had kept them from even approaching the floating dark iron hall, let alone seeing his true face.
