~ With Makarov ~

Makarov sat at the guild hall's bar, nursing a drink that had grown warm in his hands while his mind wandered through the complexities of rebuilding Fairy Tail's reputation. The returned members were settling back into guild life, but integrating seven years of change into their daily routines remained a challenge.

Especially with how in their disappearance, Fairy Tail had managed to complete missions without collateral damage. This was perhaps the single piece of information that managed to give him the single greatest headache in his entire life.

The peaceful afternoon was shattered when Warren burst through the guildhall doors in panic.

"You have to come see this!" He shouted without preamble, already turning to head back outside.

His urgency was infectious. Several guild members looked up from their conversations, sensing that something significant was happening. Makarov set down his drink and followed closely behind as he left the guildhall and into the open courtyard.

What he saw made him stop dead in his tracks.

High above Magnolia, a massive attack was soaring through the sky. Fire wreathed with what looked to be crackling electricity climbed toward the clouds like a living thing. The energy radiating from it was enough to make Makarov narrow his eyes.

A bad feeling washed over Makarov as he studied the ascending technique. 'This definitely cannot be one of Natsu's attacks. His team is also training away from Magnolia. That direction… The training ground! But the only ones there should be Laxus, the Thunder God Tribe and the current team Fairy Tail.'

The fire was too controlled, too focused, but the sparking electricity suggested Laxus's involvement. Yet none of the guild members currently at the training ground should have been capable of unleashing such a potent, large-scale fire technique.

"Everyone back inside." Makarov ordered, his voice carrying the authority of decades of leadership. "Now."

The other guild members obeyed immediately, recognizing the tone that meant their master was genuinely concerned. As they filed back through the doors, Makarov turned to the only one he believed he could take with him.

"Mirajane, come with me. We need to find out what's happening out there."

~ With Shisui ~

Meanwhile, at the training ground, the combined fire and lightning attack climbed higher and higher until it finally reached the cloud layer and exploded with devastating force.

The detonation was spectacular with lightning coursing outward from the centre of the explosion in branching patterns that lit up the entire sky. The shockwave cleared the surrounding clouds in a perfect circle, creating a hole in the sky through which afternoon sunlight streamed down like a spotlight.

Then, as if responding to the disturbance, new clouds began to form. But these were different from the peaceful white formations that had been there before. Darker, heavier with moisture and electrical potential, gathering with unnatural speed.

The reactions among the observers varied dramatically. From Makarov's perspective as he raced toward the training ground, the darkening sky signalled something ominous happening to his guild members. His pace quickened as worry gnawed at his chest.

Team Fairy Tail and the Thunder God Tribe, however, were lost in awe. They'd witnessed something beyond their comprehension, a display of magical power that redefined their understanding of what was possible. The spectacle had been both beautiful and terrifying in equal measure.

Thunder rumbled overhead as the newly formed clouds began to discharge their electrical load. Lightning flickered between the dark formations, nature responding to the artificial disturbance that had been introduced to its domain.

Their attention quickly shifted back to the two fighters. Shisui stood calmly at one side of the devastated training ground, looking as composed as if he'd just finished a light warm-up exercise. His breathing was steady, his posture relaxed, and there wasn't even a sheen of sweat on his brow.

Laxus, by contrast, was panting heavily. His Lightning Body flickered and fizzled out entirely, the electrical aura that had surrounded him throughout the fight finally giving way to exhaustion. He remained upright, but the effort of maintaining his peak performance was clearly taking its toll.

Shisui noticed the change immediately.

"Getting tired already?" He asked, his tone casual but not mocking.

Laxus straightened, forcing his breathing to steady as he wiped sweat from his forehead. His smirk returned, though it took more effort than before.

"Just getting started." He replied, though his voice lacked some of its earlier fervour.

As if summoned by their words, the first drops of rain began to fall. Light at first, barely noticeable, but growing heavier by the moment. The water hissed where it struck the superheated ground, creating small clouds of steam that rose between the fighters.

Shisui could sense the determination radiating from Laxus, the Dragon Slayer's refusal to back down despite his growing fatigue. But he could also feel the worry emanating from the other Fairy Tail members, their concern for both fighters becoming more pronounced as the battle escalated.

Silence filled the training ground for a few moments until Shisui broke it.

"I haven't been idle these past two years..." Shisui started, his voice carrying easily over the sound of falling rain. "I spent a lot of time in isolation, training myself, pushing my limits."

The rain began to fall harder, drops hammering against the scorched earth and creating a steady drumming sound. Lightning continued to flicker overhead, nature's own electrical display competing with the artificial energies that had been unleashed.

"At some point during that training, I felt like I'd hit my current plateau. But even then, my ceiling is really high." Shisui continued.

The words carried an undertone that made every observer tense. This wasn't boasting. It was a simple statement of fact, delivered with the confidence of someone who understood their own capabilities completely.

Shisui closed his eyes, standing motionless in the steadily falling rain. When he spoke again, his voice carried a different quality, something that made the hair on the back of everyone's necks stand up.

"You're not the only one who can use lightning attacks, Laxus Dreyar."

His eyes opened, and the pattern within them had changed. Gone were the three-tomoe Sharingan that had been spinning lazily throughout their fight. In their place was something far more complex, a design that seemed to pulse with their own inner light.

The moment his new eyes were revealed, a bolt of natural lightning struck the ground several meters behind him.

Shisui had finally revealed his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Took heavy inspiration from Sasuke's Kirin, but it's not EXACTLY Kirin. Remember a few chapters back when I revealled that Shisui has the Eternal Mangekyo? Well this new attack he's about to do is a variation of the old attack "Lightning Style: Thunderdome"
