There was another factor that made Roy determined to develop Salamence's Flying-type abilities.

"Salamence, come here!" Roy called out.

Flying excitedly through the sky, reveling in the joy of finally possessing wings, Salamence heard Roy's voice. Though reluctant to stop flying, it came over without hesitation.

It understood clearly that its ability to grow wings was almost entirely thanks to Roy, its trainer.

The trust it had placed in him had been rewarded, proving its choice was correct.

Now it had to prove that Roy's choice was equally sound!

While soaring through the sky, Salamence had already made its decision. Not only would it confront that female and reclaim its dignity, but it would become the strongest flying dragon!

Only this way would it be worthy of Roy's investment!

"Roar!" Salamence landed, folded its wings, and nuzzled its head against Roy.

It was so large that Roy needed both hands just to hold its head.

Roy touched its powerful muscles and scales, then pulled a stone from his pocket.

"Here, take this!"

Salamence opened its mouth to accept the stone and asked what it was in a muffled voice.

"It's your Mega Stone," Roy smiled.

With his current status, obtaining a Salamence Mega Stone would be effortless.

However, this particular Mega Stone came from Roy's personal collection.

Though he had only been with Salamence for ten days, combined with this evolution that had been ten years in the making, trust between them had deepened significantly. With his aura power, achieving resonance between Key Stone and Mega Stone wouldn't be difficult.

Roy raised his right hand and brushed it across the Key Stone's surface.

A colorful, leaf-like pattern emerged.

Immediately, brilliant light erupted.

"Salamence, Mega Evolution!"

The Mega Stone dissolved and merged into Salamence's body, completing its missing genetic code.

The evolutionary light faded.

Mega Salamence appeared before Roy's eyes.

Compared to its normal state, the biggest difference was that its two wings had twisted and fused together to form a massive crescent-shaped wing.

Furthermore, its head, neck, and torso had become more streamlined, its limbs shorter, and its tail more slender, creating a perfectly aerodynamic body ideally suited for flight.

"ROAAARRR!"

Mega Salamence released an irritated roar. The fusion of its wings created tremendous pressure, and a bloodthirsty urge to fly and destroy enemies with its wings generated destructive impulses within its heart.

This was instinct derived from dragon genetics.

"Calm down!"

Roy raised his hand as expected, emanating Dragon Power.

The force that commanded dragons easily suppressed its fierce instincts.

Mega Salamence settled down, realized its loss of control, and showed a shameful expression.

"Woo~~" Such a massive creature whimpered like a guilty puppy, clearly expressing Salamence's remorse.

"This is normal," Roy patted its head reassuringly.

Mega-evolved dragons became more ferocious with increased combat power, sometimes even attacking their own trainers.

Because of this, Mega Salamence earned the nickname "Bloodied Crescent."

This wasn't even the worst case—as far as Roy knew, Mega Gyarados underwent complete brain cell reconstruction, retaining only the instinct to destroy everything.

Dragon Pokémon were indeed the most difficult to breed and tame.

Roy touched its skin and immediately felt a different texture than before.

Mega Salamence's skin had become more transparent and harmonious with airflow.

—The ability "Aerilate."

This ability could only manifest after Mega Evolution.

Available exclusively to Mega Salamence and Mega Pinsir.

Even in the Pokémon world, Mega Evolution remained an unpopularized force, with very little development of the Aerilate ability.

On Earth, such an ability had never been documented.

"All Normal-type moves become Flying-type moves, with increased power..."

Roy murmured thoughtfully.

"Salamence, use Hyper Voice!"

At his command, Mega Salamence faced the sky, opened its mouth, and roared.

Sound waves spread like physical matter, stirring up powerful winds.

Roy's attention wasn't focused on Hyper Voice's destructive power, but on the move's fundamental changes.

Under Aerilate's effect, the Normal-type move Hyper Voice was now infused with massive Flying-type energy.

Flying-type energy, in simpler terms, was the power of airflow.

Greater Flying-type proficiency meant stronger airflow control.

With Aerilate, Mega Salamence possessed unique mastery over airflow, enabling it to transform Normal-type moves into Flying-type.

The principle involved adding airflow power to ordinary moves.

"Airflow control..." Roy pondered. He felt the Aerilate ability held tremendous developmental potential.

It even reminded him of an ability possessed by a certain legendary Pokémon.

—The ability "Delta Stream."

Exclusive power of Mega Rayquaza, which could transform weather into a "strong winds" condition, completely eliminating Flying-type weaknesses.

Rayquaza's strong winds field probably represented the ultimate mystery of airflow manipulation.

It was the true Sky God.

Aerilate was a newly discovered ability. To develop it, Roy would have to experiment independently, with no existing guides for reference.

But he wasn't without foundation.

The best method for Pokémon and trainer growth was mimicking the "Gods."

And Roy happened to be Earth's trainer with the deepest understanding of legendary Pokémon.

Mega Rayquaza's existence seemed to place the "Flying-type answer" directly before his eyes.

The Flying-type's ultimate meaning was disrupting all airflow. When fully developed, even type matchup restraints could be disrupted.

"Disrupts all airflow..."

Roy murmured, already forming a general breeding direction.

Rayquaza's strong winds field could cover entire worlds, even spreading across planets.

Its majesty was like a natural disaster.

Salamence couldn't achieve that level, of course.

However, it could at least work toward creating a smaller turbulence field.

While flying, it would constantly control airflow power, forming a turbulent storm field.

The turbulence would weaken and disrupt enemies while strengthening itself. Even Salamence's proficient Fire-type moves could be enhanced through "wind feeding fire."

—Turbulence tactics.

To accomplish this, Salamence would need precise airflow manipulation.

Thinking this, Roy's old habit of seeking free assistance returned.

Rayquaza hadn't descended to Earth, but Lugia had...

The reason Lugia was called the "Sea God" was due to its airflow manipulation being refined enough to control ocean currents, calm tsunamis, and manage waterways.

It was truly the benevolent deity protecting humanity.

If Rayquaza's airflow manipulation represented dominating riots, then Lugia's airflow manipulation was refined artistry.

Roy made up his mind.

If I have time, I must visit Lugia...

No ulterior motives—the three legendary birds have helped me so much. It's reasonable to visit their boss, right?
